This is rage bait. I played for 16 minutes and never made it to the end (I got to dash, which I bet is the last ability). Despite that I think this is a good start. The level design is not quite there (I think the wall jump was overused/too long and the dash tutorial area should have contained jumps). There should definitely be more shortcuts. You start in a tunnel. Maybe once you unlock the wall jump there's a shortcut out the top and/or a separate level? The reason for more shortcuts being I didn't *need* to use a dash for a shortcut until I got to the double-jump section. It would be neat if there was a shortcut for every power in each section. I thing it would tie the whole thing together.

  • When you can't jump you should move with the platform
  • Coyote time (and jump buffer) is always a good addition especially in precision platformers.

Thanks for the comment! I totally agree with both your suggestions but i was to bored to add them. Regarding the shortcuts i think there were enough to make the game not as repetitive and faster but still be costly if they die and also make the player actually play and not just go through a straight line after the get an ability. Also i believe the dash ability is a shortcut by itself since you can pass obstacles faster. About the level design i agree that the dash area needed improvements. Again thanks for your comments and actually playing the game!

I only got to the wall jump, but I did enjoy it. I'm particularly fond of the remarks the scientist makes. Specifically, the one where he notes that the robot died doing what it loved. Something that I would've liked to see is bodies of past lives, maybe the last 10 or something. I think it would've added some visual story telling.

Also, am I wrong in thinking that this robot is heavily inspired by Gungeon's?

Developer

Thanks for your comment!  I really like the idea of seeing where you last died. Regarding the robot it was inspired by all of the results when searching "robot pixel art" lol

Funny, he looks just like a character in another game I love

Nice work! I liked the progression and how there were some faster ways to go through the level when you unlocked more abilities. I couldn’t get to the end but it I liked what I saw

Amazing idea! I love the artstyle and the scientist with his comments. Gameplay was also very enjoyable but it became a little repetetive after some time. Great game!

Loved the concept ! I really wanted to play till the end. It was a bit frustrating to start from the beginning everytime but the shortcuts in the level design are appreciated. Great game, good job !

Good game and loved the addition  of the scientists comments, as well as the finishing of the artwork, but my W or up key wouldnt work for jumping

Developer

Hmm are you sure you had the jump ability?

Submitted(+1)

Ahhhh apologies I wasnt aware of that, fair enough my bad

Love the core concept!
But performance issues (likely from lighting) are affecting the precision gameplay a bit too drastically(

Developer

Thanks! I thought that it could be laggy and that is why i added a download option. Turns out it didn't lag at all in google, firefox and brave, at least for me and my pc. Maybe it is a problem on your end? Thanks for your comment!

I tried desktop version too and had same performance issues. Not sure why

This is a TON of fun! I will confess, I didn't quite finish the double jump section before I had to go AFK, but man this was a good time! Great work, my favourite I've played thus far!

Developer

Thank you!

The scientist is hilarious.

It's a really cool idea having the player get upgrades as they progress through the level. I like the atmosphere and the lighting! I also really enjoyed the scientists funny quotes! Good work!

I loved it - great idea and fits the theme perfectly! Played well, and looked nice. And I loved the comments from the scientist.

And yes, it was definitely the pigeons...

Developer

Thanks

I love how the crazy scientist gets pissed off at the robot every time it dies. The game itself feels reeally smooth! Love the idea with new upgrades after you die many times

Developer

Thanks dude!
