Really neat concept.
Would love to see some additional balance tweaks to get access to other unlockable quicker at the beginning.
Art style was really nice too.
If anyone sees this message, be sure to play this guy's game - HE'S A GENIUS!
I think narratively this is a very good take on the theme. It would have been nice if I didn't have to click as many times, but in a way it does make sense you have to click a lot since it parallels the vast quantity of prayers that god has to answer to, so I think I see what you are going for here. Really neat idea!
As others have said it starts a bit slow. I'm sure with a bit more time to work on it, it could turn into something more fun. Having a look over the other comments, it seems like you're not very happy with yourself (or at least you keep apologising to others) and I understand the feeling but don't be so hard on yourself. It looks like this is your first game jam, and this kind of time pressured format and actually creating a finished game in 4 days is such a unique challenge that the first one is always going to be a very steep learning curve. My first and only previous game jam was not at all fun but it was a start and each time you make something new it'll be better and better
Good luck on future games!
Thanks for the comment! Nope, I'm not worried about it at all. I understand what's wrong with my game. And I can't say that I'm unhappy with what I did during my first Jam. The fact that I'm apologizing is not because I'm upset, it's just because it would be polite on my part.
Oh I see. I apologise for that spiel then. I'm glad you're happy with what you've accomplished
This is like a sun clicker sim... lol The art is amazing though nice work!
I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!
I agree with the rest about the start being kind of slow, and I see your answers about wanting to balance for end game, next jam remember you have to get the attention of the players in the shortes amount of time possible, instead of focusing on the end game make sure the start feels rewarding!
Thanks for the comment!
I expressed myself incorrectly about balance. Initially, everything was built around the idea that the beginning would be fast and not stressful. It was just that when the game became technically possible to complete and all that was left was to make the visuals. It turned out that the balance was completely broken - already by the middle of the game (year 15), the game became unplayable and it was possible to go to -50% faith for one missed task. It was too late to redo the entire balance (there were 1.5 days left) and it was decided to reduce the progression so that the game could at least be completed.
I will probably try to fix the balance with a patch when the jam is over.
Oh I see
Do I seriously have to click the sun like a hundred times to gain 1% faith, and then I got to do to that 20 times to unlock the next thing? Too much effort, I think it shouldn't require that many clicks or maybe you should gain more percentage from it. Seemed like an interesting game besides that but it really held it back for me and I had to quit.
I'm sorry. I understand the problem perfectly, I was desperately trying to make a normal balance. Attempts to make a normal start led to the breakdown of everything and everyone in the late game. A boring start is the only option that was possible to achieve, for normal balance in the future. Maybe if i had more time i can fix that.
Yeah that makes sense.
Loved the idea, not sure if I was doing something at first when clicking the sun though
Sorry, I'll try better next time.
Cool idea! Love to see more of the concept.
The beginning is quite slow though
I didn't have enough time to correct the balance. Sorry
