How does your game fit the theme?
Cyclic Dungeon is a tactical, card-based dungeon crawler where the only way forward is looping — replaying battles with rising stakes to grow stronger and survive longer. The doors in the dungeon require a minimum amount of loops to advance forward. You can choose the minimum amount of loops, but you will also get less rewards than if you choose to loop more than you have to

I really like the mechanic of taking risks to try to get through the higher level doors. I would love to see that expanded upon!

same i agree with u tunnn tunnn tunnn sahurrrrr!

Pretty good looping employed in your game. I cut it short once and grinded other battles out. Werewolf was great art. Love that particle sound effect, my personal fav. Ability cool down is a classic mechanic. It has some limitations in this format because this is like mortal combat style except you can't move, so the strategy is to wait it out and hope I don't die trying. Overall game atmosphere works well.

really fun game

Echoing a lot from maven_raven below. It's super satisfying when you get the later abilities and can mix things up during combat, but when everything is on cooldown I can only wonder when I'll die. I like what Loop does here with pushing me to consider how easy each battle was. I pushed my luck more on the easier beginning fights, but my luck may not be very good as I died to the solo axe-wielder still on that run too.

The concept is promising - I like the idea of risking a replayed loop to grow stronger later down the road - but I do wish there was a little more mechanical depth, as I could not tell if the different abilities you get did anything other than deal more damage. I also think there should be more than one infinitely repeatable ("zero-loop"?) ability - doesn't have to be many, just a second one so I don't feel stuck spamming the same attack when all my other abilities are on cooldown.

There is a solid foundation in this game, and I'd love to see it expanded upon after the jam ends. Great work.

the background song is a banger, would like if the game had some instructions at the start but aside from that it was pretty fun

Took a sec to figure out what was going on, but after that it was a fun game. Good work!

The music was killer. The character designs were so cool! I tried to get to the last door every time. Gg Keep up the good work!

Nice game! Beat a few levels and unlocked a few abilities, but I can only use 1 ability once? And then return in spamming the same attack? Got confused about the numbers on the door.
