Really impressive for a game made in 2 weeks. Well done to you all!

Thank you!

Solid strategy/tactics type Rpg game

I really like it, the setting alone is really cool with that sort of fantasy meets sci fi kinda vibe and i really like the aspect of having to hunt down the mechs cause they are one of the only way to get resources in this new echosystem.

The spritework in general both the enemy mechs and the different units and character portraits look incredible !

And i really like the grid based movement for the turns, in a way even the stats displayed on how many enemies you’re about to encounter and potential resources gained for the mission description really reminded me a lot of the old Heroes of might and magic games. I also really enjoyed the army composition where you have quite a variety of standard units to recruit as well as some very cool heroes :D

The music is also really awesome in this the track fits the setting perfectly, which oddly brings me to just the one setback i have with the game, i think the audio glitched out, when playing i thought the drums sounded a bit weird, and i think for some reason the game seems to start overlaying the song multiple times over itself O_o at least that’s what it sounded like not sure what happened here, shame cause the song itself is awesome.

Other than this strange issue, i had a fun time playing this, great job to you all :)

OK this is really difficult: on the one hand this is an entry with a lot of potential, but on the other completely over-scoped

The good parts: I love the music, and the game itself is a semi-functional tactical RPG with cool visuals and and interesting world

Unfortunately, I ran into a State Management issue, where the game just stops working completely on the enemy turn. Happened three times. At my last play, I didn't even touch the mouse anymore, whenever the enemy moved. Also, the music played multiple times in parallel. Don't know how I achieved this.

This is bad, since I really wanted to play this game in its fully! If you continue with this game, I wish you best of luck! The base is definitely there! And it's looking (and sounding) really good.

Thank you for your feedback! Sorry to hear that you had problems with the game getting stuck. Coding the turn-based combat was an exciting challenge, but a lot of loose ends were left here and there.

We definitely plan to continue and build a consistent gameplay on top of the current version.

I understand due to time constraints you weren't able to implement more, but from what I see I think you did a great job at implementing a turn based system, it works, the ai works as well and there is fun to be had here! I think with a bit more work it would be a really cool experience, you already have the parts!

Overall very ambitious and interesting I love strategy games personally so this was right down my alley!

Thank you, I’m glad you liked the game! Implementing the combat logic took almost all the time. It was super fun. We didn’t balance things, just created characters and mechs, and then tested them one against another, making different squads. Discovering how your own mechanics work was fun. However, no time was left for a consistent story and effects. So in the end, we just decided to set up a bunch of missions to showcase the idea and mechanics. We hope to put more effort into it later.

Thinking it got too ambitious for a game jam, but a solid step into a full fledge game. I liked that is has all the complexity of a turn based game, but it also lacks a lot in game feel.

Hope you get to keep working in this. Looks very promising.

We uploaded an update on 08.08 with the following fixes:

  1. A critical issue was fixed that resulted in the game hanging when you finished a mission where you lost one of your units.
  2. Now, empty/dead units are automatically disbanded.
  3. Fixed missing visuals for the Moon character. She was not showing when added to the unit.

Really fun game with a lot of gameplay and depth.  There's a lot in the game and it's well thought out.

The only thing that confused me was the amount of movement I could do while also being able to attack the same turn. Maybe I missed something. Also the game only really worked for me in fullscreen for whatever reason.

This game could easily be built on and expanded with more levels so I hope you keep working on it. Great job!

Thank you very much for your kind feedback! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the game.

Regarding moving and attacking:

  1. A unit can attack twice if it didn’t move at all.
  2. It can attack once if it moved, but stayed on a green tile, i.e., spent less than half of its MP. 3. If the unit spends more than half of its MP, it won’t be able to attack this turn.

Also, there is a retaliation mechanic, which is pretty esoteric at the moment. If a unit was attacked during the opponent’s turn and responded, it will spend one AP and half of its move points for that in advance. So when its turn comes, it will be restricted in both movement and actions.

Ah ok, I maybe just a little reminder text for players during the game would help them remember. I have a short memory lol. That's also a really interesting retaliation mechanic. I'm impressed!
