Very fun. I like the style. I do have to say it was hard to control at the time. But I think that might just be me.
This is a great game. Like some others have said, I've been following your progression through the Discord channel, and I've been looking forward to playing through the game. And it did not disappoint. Very fun game, and I can certainly see how it fits into the theme. Genuinely fun to play thru. Well done dude, be proud :)
I had been following the progress of this game through the dev-share channel on Discord, and I was excited from the very beginning to finally try it out! The black and white aesthetic is lovely, and the overall presentation feels very polished definitely one of the most complete entries I’ve seen in this jam. The minimalist style, music, and little particle effects all add up to create a really strong vibe, and I think the ghost leaderboard was a great touch.
The core concept has a lot of potential for something even bigger. I really like the idea of recovering even when you go off-road, and the mechanics around drifting and boosting give the game personality. That said, I think the controls could use some refinement. The car traction feels a bit too slippery, and the way to possess other cars isn’t immediately clear, which can make things frustrating at first. Boosting into targets is also tricky maybe being able to bump into cars without always relying on the boost would make it feel smoother and more intuitive.
Even with these rough edges, the experience is fun, stylish, and creative. You clearly put a lot of thought into it, and it shows. Congratulations on finishing such a solid project for the jam I’m really glad I got to try it after watching the development process unfold!
Congrats on getting it done in such a short time! If you’d like, you can also check out our game, it would mean a lot to us.
Lovely black and white aesthetic, and one of the most polished and complete games from this jam I've played so far. Wonderful job!
I enjoyed the concept and think it has a lot of potential for a larger game. In addition to that, the music fits perfectly. I like the little particle and text effects, and the fact that you can drive off-road, skip sections, and still recover! (It's just slower than normal, of course). The ghost high score board is a great touch.
I did find it hard to control the car. It has very little traction. The way to possess another car wasn't clear to me at first, and it can be frustratingly hard to aim correctly at a moving target while moving yourself. It's also unclear to me how much of an effect drifting has, and since the boost takes a long while to activate before it can actually possess cars, perhaps it would help if the boost started right when you released the button. Its duration could vary based on how long you drifted, kind of like Mario Kart.
I wonder if it would be more satisfying if you could simply run into the cars without needing to boost. Maybe slamming into them while boosting would net you extra fuel.
I found the concept's link to the theme rather vague, but I'm not bothered by that; this game really delivers in terms of overall quality.
Finally, it'd be cool to see your progress on the high score board relative to other ghosts. Perhaps the list gets more competitive as you gain experience. Am I near the top of the bottom? How many points before I defeat the big cheese ghost at the top of the list? Ha ha!
Anyway, you have a winning nugget of gold with this gameplay. Good luck and keep up the good work!

game although simple to say the least gorgeous...the gameplay is not who knows what but the design from the graphics, music and used font are all perfect... even if it makes you nervous the game I would play it 24 hours a day
Fun game! It's reaaaally hard to bump into other cars with the boost tho. Might want to allow bump without the boost.
Very interesting concept! ✨
I like the minimalist artstyle and overall vibe of the game, I did feel the controls were a bit irratic might be skill issue from me, but as a beginner of the game, it didn't feel good at the beginning and after 10 mins of driving around, I still feel I couldn't drive the way I wanted too. Very neat game, good job team!
Nice game, I like the controls. Good job!
This is a good game! took me a while to figure boosting out tho. ( you have to release the button to actually take over cars)
Fun game, I struggled a bit with switching the vehicles, but the concept is great!
Really fun concept. I was struggling to get a hang of it at first but once you get it its super fun. Nice vfx and sfx. Maybe auto target the car in the angle of the target, cause right now sometimes I would just stop moving the car aim and then boost, that just killed the flow.
HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO DRIVE A CAR!
It kinda hard to switch to other vehicle to the point I just rage quit
I like it, and good fixes last night
Cool gimmick. Couldn't really understand how to capture at first. I could just go over other cars and nothing would happen. But the controlling and art style was nice.
The game has really solid mechanics, it’s fun to play and the art style is super cool. While playing, I felt that drifting wasn’t really necessary, and at first I didn’t fully understand how to get boost. Sometimes when I boosted into cars, I wouldn’t switch, which was a bit confusing.
That said, overall it’s a polished and entertaining game. I especially liked the line effect pointing to the closest car and the screen shrink when boosting into them. Great job and one of my favorites!
Got 5575. I liked pretty much all of the aesthetics to the game. Has a clean UI. Controlling the cars was pretty fun, but it's not really made clear how to capture the other cars... It seems very finnicky. I found that if I run out in front of the other car and let them run into me, that lets me capture them more often.
I think maybe if you incorporated the boost into capturing the other cars that could work better.
It also seems like you can farm for a while and just sit and let cars spawn into you. Eventually you get a message that you're falling behind, but I guess you can just move forward and do it again? Doesn't feel like racing if you do that strat and it seems like the optimal strat since you get a lot of points and fuel that way.
I wish the mechanics were more focused around racing lol, there doesn't seem to be any positive feedback for going around the track as fast as you can, I think it would be fun to have a secondary objective to beat your own time... Like a ghost racer... wait a second... if you're a ghost what is the ghost of a ghost???
I unlocked the 2nd music track but I think I liked the starting music track more.
Pretty simple and good, I also liked the little bitcrushed audio stinger in the beginning. Keep up the good work.
