This game was extremely cute!! It reminds me of my childhood - running around outside and catching bugs. Playing was surprisingly relaxing and as an isopod fan I just had to find them all.
Also I was happy to see one of my favorite species (the rubber ducky isopod) represented!
Thank you! Apparently we had similar childhoods since my own childhood of looking for pill bugs under rocks inspired this game.
A really unique idea. Turning over rocks to discover critters is a really interesting take on the theme. It'd be even cooler if we had a little control over the rock so we could turn it various ways and discover rarer critters in gaps etc.
I managed to find the Digipod so that was a solid hook for sure! Some chill music would have tied this together nicely but nice job regardless.
Thank you! I like your rock turning idea. I'll look into adding that next time I work on the game.
Found a digipod! I like that the collection tracking is included inside the guide, that's a very smooth way to include UI! I use a very sensitive mouse preset on my PC so the controls in-game was way too sensitive for me, I had to tweak my desktop settings to be comfortable playing. This kind of setting could be a nice addition to your game :)
I always think it's cool when menus are a part the game's world and this felt like a good time to make that kind of menu. Towards the end of the jam I thought about adding a sensitivity setting but couldn't figure out how to set up an elegant menu so I worked on sound effects instead. I probably should have just left in the scuffed menu.
Sounds effects are nice too! The game jam is a really short time to make a perfect game, so that's understandable!
Unique idea, very original!
Thank you!
Pretty cool concept to improve post jam for botanic learning. Nice idea, good job :)
Thank you! I still have a lot of ideas for this game and I'm definitely going to work on it more in the future.
I always like seeing ideas around collecting being explored in games, like animal crossing: large variety of collectables with unique quirks, progress tracking, random trivia on the side, etc. Great entry!
Thank you! I definitely want to make a bigger version of this game with more environments and a lot more bugs to collect.
Huh, why does it feel so good to just move around, flip the rocks, and collect the isopods?!
I was worried that the game was too simple and might be boring. I'm glad that you and several other people enjoyed it!
Cool game, and even though it was simple, I did enjoy it. good job!
Thank you!
For some reason i have enjoyed a lot running arround flipping the rock to collect isopods. Pure satisfaction and we even can view our progression. Would have been awesome to have a terrarium with the collect isopods in the house to give the house a purpose.
I'm glad you enjoyed! I like your terrarium idea. I want to make a bigger version of the game and I'm definitely going to include that.
