I really enjoyed this game concept. I was a little thrown off at first as I wasn't sure what I was doing. But then I saw the apple and letter in the corner, and it just clicked. The style was unique, and fun to play. Amazing job.

I really liked the concept of the game. I was a bit confused in the beginning on how the game actually worked. I was trying to avoid all the images and just go for the apples BUT then I ran into an image and it all made sense. Really fun idea. I really liked the humor for some of the images. The murder of crows being renamed to group of crows was really funny. It did make it a little confusing on what was safe or not safe and I ended up not exploring the options as much as I think you could incentivize people to because I was on such a high streak I didn't want to lose it. But definitely fun and creative and funny :D

That is definitely a fun game ! I enjoyed playing it, and I loved getting the "smart-ass" bonus, it feels so good !
As already said in another commentary, the things you collect just stay when you get hit, so other lives are quickly wiasted. It is still fun when you consider having just one life !

I like the bullet-hell aspect but when you fail a chain all the previous apples you got just floating around make it very difficult to move without touching the wrong letter since the target letter have changed.

The thing I like about your game is the trippy style, but I have to say I had a hard time understanding what to do at the beginning. I didn't know what it means to collect stuff that match the letter, I was confused is it apples or other stuff, but I figured it out. So my suggestion is to explain in more detail what is the goal in the game itself. :)

I'm absolutely head over heels for this game, I've finished it so many times now (my current high score is 137730). It's insanely addictive and I just can't believe I'm still constantly discovering new things. My favorite part of this game has to be the visual design and style, it is so well-established it definitely boosts my enjoyment playing it. Not to mention just how much I loooove Jack, he is so cute I cannot get over it.
I suppose my one issue is (I think this is a bug?) If you collect a lot of the apples/"objects" and then lose them, they don't seem to change anymore after that which sort of softlocks me to lose a run since I can't pick them up anymore after the letter change.
Though this is my favorite game by far out of the entire jam and I love it to bits!

Yup, the bug is definitely fixed! It takes quite some time to be able to recover after losing a ton of letters, but I think that is fair especially since you (the player) loses a life. Although personally I find the first UI design to be nicer to the eyes, since the apple letter being on the top right and Jack on the bottom left helped balance it out for me, being that they're the biggest elements of the UI. Overall though I love the fixes!

As for the softlock issue, it's possible that is a bug 🤔 Have you tried moving to the other side of the screen and coming back? The Items all regenerate and change to something else when they are far away from the screen. So if you put a lot of distance between you and those items, they should be different when you come back, and a certain percentage of them will always be correct! (Again, unless it's a bug lol)

This is a fun game. I got a 6940. the only problem is once your chain of collected letters gets really long it gets distracting.
