Yeah definitely, there's actually already wall running in the game so I was planning on adding in walls you have to wall run across and hazards and enemies but I just didn't have the time. But I'm really glad you found the movement fun :) definitely was where most of the time went in the jam.

I really liked this game. I thought the concepts were really well thought out through and introduced at the right time. The difficulty for me was perfect too. I do wish we could've gotten a view of the entire map right before we start so the runs where you're just guessing where you're going are not necessary but beyond that really fun. Finished the entire game :D
I am reading the rest of the comments and I think it has to be me. I found this game way way too hard I could not get further than 23m and I kept getting my self trapped. But reading every elses comments makes me really think that it was just a skill issue on my end. But for me too difficult didn't get far :(
I thought the game had a cool concept. I think the biggest thing I didn't like was how easy the game was. I didn't get too far into it just because all the solutions felt too obvious. The thing I was excited about was trying to optimize solutions in the smallest amount of parts possible but every time I tried I just fell back to the obvious solution because my solution didn't work.
For example, when that 4 was introduced I thought "WAIT! I can just toss in 2 4s into the subtractor and use way less parts" and then the 2 fell and stopped the whole process. So I was just like "ok I'll just do the thing it wants me to do."
I think puzzle games are really hard to make for this reason, games that are too hard are not fun to play and games that are too easy are also not fun and it's really difficult to find that middle ground in such a short amount of time. I thought the concept was fun though :)
I thought the visuals for the game were really great! I really liked how the pixel art turned out especially with its' movement. And I thought the intro was really cool but I think it did dump a lot of information and I was really able to keep any of it.
I knew I was supposed to be looking for anomolies but I didn't know exactly how the questions corresponded with what they said or exactly what I was supposed to be looing out for. When I saw all the explanations for what an anomaly could look like I was like "Dang, I am not going to remember any of that. Hopefully there's like a little notebook that I can reference" and then there wasn't so a lot of the game I was just guessing at what I thought I should be looking for and eventually ended with 2 anomalies at the end. :(
It was really cool though. Great concept I wish there was more stuff I could reference throughout gameplay.
I thought the concept was really cool! I'm not sure if I 100% understood how the mechanics of the game were working. I initially thought that clicking created blackholes but it wasn't consistent so maybe it was on a timer or something and then I read the page and saw that you could choose to either go the matter or blackhole route... I think that's what I got from it. Maybe it's just feeding a black hole actually I'm not too sure i I was doing something really wrong but I did notice sort of this like duality of choices in the upgrade section. I think the game looked good though :) sorry I wasn't able to get it :(
I thought the game was really chill. The only thing that I don't think I ever really got over was the feeling bad throwing the dogs so far D: still cool through chill. I wish the camera was a little closer and maybe at a different angle so we can get in closer and see those dogs. It was a little difficult especailly in the beginning to try to parse out which dog was which and know what effect was on what dog. Pretty cool chill. really chill.
I thought this game was super juicy felt really good to slice things and up and to do that one. There was this moment where I started teleporting around a guy like ninja gaiden I thought that was very very cool. I was a little confused on how the power ups worked, I didn't realized they were spawned off screen and I don't know if I just didn't come back in time to collect it or I did collect it but I was barely able to read one and then it disappeared.
Very cool game! I didn't understand in the beginning I thought that the bridge should just end at the top of the hill and everything just kept looping. So I was just staring at them run around the bridge pieces infinitely. But after I found out you're supposed to connect it all the way to the end the game got a lot better lol.
cool project :D
Played through it. really funny because I had a similar-ish idea for a game like this. Very similar visual design but more dungeon explorer-y. Anyways your game.
I think it has pretty good bones. But some things I think could be fleshed out more. The combat I feel is the weakest point. I don't like the way that it's RNG who's turn it is. It felt tiresome to watch the dice roll just to decide who attacks and feels worse when it doesn't land on you. I would prefer a turn-based approach. I think that can introduce speed as a concept to turns also so you could get 2 turns in a row by upgrading your speed stat.
Also I think the player is a bit bland. But of course, it's a prototype but that is something that I would want is a stats mechanic that allows me to augment the player in some way. I think right now it's basically all RNG and doesn't really feel like I'm playing more like I'm watching. I would like some decisions so I can be a more active participant. I think stats would be a good way to go about it.
Obviously money is a big thing, I don't know if I didn't understand how to spend it but it felt kind of pointless at the moment. I'm thinking that it's there just to show the concept that money is a concept and that can be something to implement. I definitely think a shop would be cool as another way to augment the player. Buying armor or weapons and health potions of course.
Overall, I think cool concept, but definitely the combat needs a lot more work to make it not just RNG. Would like to see that overhauled first and see what ideas you bring to that. Solid idea though I think.
also here is the beginning concept of my idea. I just started with the dice so I haven't really gotten too far into the project. but funny that we both had his idea around the same time
I really really liked the look of the game. I see you got it somewhere but it looks really nice. I didn't really understand the story. But I think it was meant to be a little abstract so maybe that was intended. I will also say I think I got a bug or something because I got to the point where it was asking me to only select treat cards and lower cards so I selected the lowest treat card and it said that I got it wrong. But I also don't know if I misunderstood and only 1 modifier applied at a time? Unsure. But I think having some sort of indicator showing what the rules are would be helpful. I was a bit confused at points
I thought the camera switching was a cool concept. The third level I'm unsure if I was doing something wrong. But I wasn't able to get the two candies really high in the air. Really cool concept though and that beginning intro was so so cool. Felt like I was about to dive into a movie really really cool
I really really liked the music in this game. The beginning was so like "Dang I'm about to get into something". I'm not 100% if I missed something with interacting with the monsters. I just sort of did nothing and waited for the animation to finish. So, my understanding of the game is that it is purely RNG. And using some of the items just didn't work. Maybe the items are meant for specific enemies that's why they didn't work? but unsure about that. Cool concept really liked the music. I wish the game was a little more interactable beyond just the RNG stuff. But I mean really cool. I didn't manage to get to the end though :(
Thought the game was cool. A bit repetitive but still cool. I don't know if this was a mechanic or an issue with the physics system but the bullets would go through the enemies a lot of the time. Just made the shooting inconsistent. I was also a little confused about the zombies, it felt like they weren't coming after me so I don't know if they were helping me or if the pathfinding was just messed up with them because they were always in such a tight group. But cool game :)
I think the game looks really cool! I didn't really understand the mouse thing. Like I tried using the offset mouse to navigate through the menus but my regular mouse was the one that worked so unsure if I misunderstood something. I also didn't manage to get to far into the game. I died a few times to the hands and then the guy with the knife. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to fight back or just avoid him. I tried looking for stuff but I literally couldn't find anything to interact with so, I don't know if I was just supposed to get stuff. The most unfortunate thing I think is that because I was trying to crouch at some points it interacted weirdly with my browser so there were a few times where I bookmarked the itch page or the tab just closed because of some hotkeys with control. I would like to try again if you change the crouch to "C" or something so I can actually make it through further in the game. Also retrying the game was a pain because of the instructions that always played in the beginning and the long credit sequence.
I feel like I didn't understand what the story fully was. But I think that's why I kind of enjoyed it. It felt like this haunted object was perpetually looking for the soul of someone and I got vibes of reincarnation. I thought it was really cool the questions that came up. I also am not sure why but I felt like the little hit sound effects felt really good. Like it just oddly fit really well with the game. Enjoyed the submission!
Really liked the concept! and I thought the game looked really good. In the beginning I didn't fully understand that you were supposed to switch levels and I just kept falling through the ground. But then I read through the page and got it. I did feel like the combat was the weakest part. I didn't like that you had to stop in order to hit. And I think I might have encountered a bug or something. It was later in the game where I got hit by a guy with a staff and I just wasn't able to move. I think maybe it was because I got hit in the attack state or something and then I couldn't attack again and the guy ended up just spamming me to death :( Really cool game though. Really cool aesthetics. I liked the tv static effect you added when you switched to the other channel :)
I am so terrible at these types of puzzle games. Omg, it took me so long to get passed even the first level. I think my biggest thing that I had trouble with was remembering what side of the screen is on. I kind of had to go a few steps back to remember. I know that all the sides are textured differently to make to sort of hint at where it is, but I didn't manage to completely understand. I think the feet of the tv were the biggest help but the other ones I was sort of guesstimating where the front was. Really cool really solid. Enjoyed :)
