Amazing aesthetics. Played until the end. No idea what any of the variables did. Solid experience.

Nice concept! The game is an interesting simulator with a good story. What I don't really like is that the game becomes boring after some time. I also wasn't sure if the game was endless... until I reached the end. But the concept and the sample are awesome. The relaxing music is cool. Good job!
Very interesting, as someone who loves clicker games I really liked the interface and the data. The only thing I would point out is that it is hard to follow what each upgrade does, so for me it ends up being literally a "clicking simulator" instead (which may sound weird because it is a clicker game). But I really see this game as a project with a lot of potentials in the genre. Good job!
Thanks for playing! I agree with you about the gameplay, I was running out of time and did what I could to balance the game so it wasn’t completely broken progression wise. If I had more time I would have both improved the balance so each upgrade feels more impactful along with doing a mini-tutorial for each upgrade (probably showing the effects through a mini popup critter simulation) to make the upgrades clearer.
Thanks for the feedback, it’s good to know what someone who’s a fan of the genre thinks about the game!
Really cool game! I went in thinking the mechanics might go over my head, but I was pleasantly surprised at how intuitive the gameplay was! The visual aesthetic you went for is really cool, and the background music makes this a very chill experience.
Nicely done!
Nice idea, very well done. Love the relaxing music.
For some reason the browser tab crashed, complaining about memory usage (Mac/Safari). This happened with at least another game. So I couldn't play too far. :(
What a beautiful and relaxing game! Probably the longest I have spent on any game jam entry lol. And lore was also interesting, well done!
What a cool game! I loved all the visuals, especially the terrain map. Also the story went hard, it was so cool! One critique would be there were so many options that the midgame became just about clicking buttons as they lit up without really considering what they would do. By the end of the game I had learned to focus on speed/capacity over clustering so the strategy came back a bit. Really nice work!
Thanks for playing and for your kind words! I worked especially hard on the aesthetics and general vibes of the game so it’s nice to see that coming across well. I totally agree with your critique about the gameplay, I felt the same way when playtesting it too. I ran out of time to properly balance the gameplay in the midgame like you said.
Absolute top tier entry. Love the concept, the boid like behavior of the creatures and the general story behind it. Great job on this!
Amazing ! maybe because I'm not 100% fluent in english, sometimes it wasn't clear what was doing what, so I ended up clicking as soon as something was unlocked, not very strategic. Still the game is incredible, I spend way to much time on it, very satisfying congrats !
What an utterly magnificent entry. This is the type of sci-fi that I adore. What a hopeful, gentle depiction of an alternate past's future. The ARI as a concept is just beautiful, something made by humans, not for the purposes of saving or restoring humanity but just life itself. I also love what you did with the gameplay, the false starts really make the seeded life feel so fragile, it's all so thoughtfully considered and implemented. I also love the visual presentation, it was so cool to see the samples get more populated and lively and seeing the topography change over time, it's just so cool.
Peaceful game, with a great sense of aesthetics! Took me a bit initially to understand how to get it jump-started, but it's a relaxing game!
Feel like what it's missing is some clear "check-point" states, in which something happens in the game world after X amount of BAs, for example. Some small narrative hook associated with that would go a long way!
Congrats on the game, the point cloud in particular is a really cool part!
Thank you for your kind words and comments :)
I agree with the narrative checkpoints, the “mission” panel in the game was originally meant to be a place where the computer adds a log of their thoughts over time which would serve as the narrative hooks you mentioned, but I had to cut that feature out because I ran out of time ;-;
I really focused on the aesthetics of the game for this submission, so I appreciate the comment on that a lot!
The graphics and visuals have so much charm and character and remind me of PC games from the 90s! The only thing that would make this better imo could be some representation of what the surface critters might look like. Really cool idea and execution!
