This was a very nice experience. I'm sure someone will make an LP of it sometime.

Good spritework and the early game OST was nice. (I went through the credits too fast so I didn't get to see how much was original content VS assets taken from elsewhere.) Early battle theme sounds just like OFF.

(Spoiler Section) So is the husband of Mr Sex Jerma985 doing the onion ring pog? Glad to see the 3 keys paid off with a cool easter egg, that was fun. Also is the poster in town a picture of Dorek? I'm too lazy to replay to check, but Dorek is male right? Did Dorek change gender or do people just think they look female?

There is a minor bug where you can battle Orion a second time if you try to interact with the square where they go.

4.5 hours is a crazy time constraint. Simple, short game.

I've noticed that you only need to type 1 letter of the words before submitting. And you can do multiple at a time if the words share the same letter. Idk why.

Nice to see that you had fun with the art style.

Very addictive. Possibly the most polished game in the jam.

I wish it listed the controls, because I noticed you could move Left/Right with the arrow keys, don't know if that's intended or a debug feature. I also wished that I understand how scoring worked, because the UI in top left and top right are emphasizing different things (how many you've collected VS have you collected them as a combo). If there is an ending I haven't seen it.

I assume it's not finished, if it is I don't understand it. The art style is really cool though.

If there is any kind of win or lose condition I haven't found it.

Seems like a fun stealth idea. Love the art style.

Short fun topdown puzzler. Alternating between light world and dark world is a solid mechanic.

The final map with the invisible walls is weird, it probably would have been better if it didn't look like there were openings. But once I understood it it was fairly easy.

I play a lot of modern board games and I love to see board/card games in the wild, especially digital one like this. I don't play TCGs/CCGs or card battlers like this, but I gave it a shot.

Your game is probably the most complex game of the gamejam. (I would hope mine is the 2nd, but don't know) That is clearly the biggest hurdle. I had to mute the cool BGM to be able to focus.

I did manage to beat both Casual and Normal, but I definitely don't understand the game fully. It took me a bit to realize that the bottom-right is all your resources - It looks a bit like the background. If you do end up continuing this, I would definitely recommend a bigger resolution, more tooltips, more instructions, etc.

Also having the Flavor Text clearly separate from the Mechanical Text would be huge. The setting is very complex and that leaks into making the game more complex too.

Things I partially understand:

  • Combat is mostly automatic, except for the Purple People (Operati?) who can attack manually (Sortie?). The only reason why you wouldn't Sortie is if it is close to death, right?
  • I'm not sure if AP is something you spend or not? I know it is the objective, but does it double as a resource? I did not keep track of what I was spending too much.
  • The cards values seem super important and I'm not 100% sure I know what they all are. (I think) The Values on the Cards are: Top-Left: Money Cost, Top-Right: AP Generation(?), Bot-Left: ATK, Bot-Right: HP. For the longest time I had no idea how AP was generated. I assumed it was via the Purple Cards, but did not know what value.

Things I have no idea still:

  • I still have no idea what determines Money generation.
  • Idk what 'CM' is. I assume it's either a card or a card type.
  • There's probably many card things I don't understand. I don't know what "Rapid" means or probably many small details.

I haven't gotten to think about strategy or anything deeper yet because I was still stuck in the learning phase, as I assume most players were.

Edit: I tried Hard a few times, but it seems to softlock near the middle/end everytime. It happens during the Intruder Phase, so I assume it has to do with some Intruder card.

Good Ending 10/10.

I like that the slime character has a different face in black vs white. And the subtle squishing when you move. Very nice.

This is a really cool idea. Both the gameplay and the lore around it. It is a very hard though. Even though there is no randomness in the game, it feels random trying to get the clone's paths to intersect without dying yourself. Even the first level is brutal just because the nature of the mechanic is brutal. Don't know if you plan on reworking anything after the jam, but there's probably potential.

It is also clever how the game is a metaphor for the economic state of Uganda and energy drinks.

Seems like you spent a long time working on it. Feels like a very solid experience, pretty fun.

The most difficult part of the game is that you can't aim the flashlight in a different direction than the direction you're moving. Easy/Hard don't feel that different. I never felt like I was ever going to run out of batteries.

Short but nice Sokoban game.

Badass

Feels like it has Coyote Time implemented, because the last jump on the first level feels like you need it to make that jump. Pretty impressive if true. Very short, but good.

I was cheesed to play this rat tastic game. I did not see any cheese, not sure if I shot all the rats before they could drop it or not.

Thank you. It's really cool so far. I'll wait until I either beat it or give up before I rate it. It will probably take me a while to find the final directory.

Edit: I don't think I can figure out how to beat the game. There are many different things I can think of trying. Maybe I'll figure it out eventually, but for now I'd say it's a really cool game.

Do you need to be able to read Russian to play this game?

Amazing aesthetics. Played until the end. No idea what any of the variables did. Solid experience.

This is my favorite genre of game to see in a gamejam! Beat it once with 3636. Saplings confused me as they look like they're part of the quota UI. And as others have said, I wish I could reread placed tiles. That said, it is very satisfying to play and I could see myself playing a lot of this if it were fixed up post-jam.

Very solid game. I'm glad that it was forgiving with multiple lives.

It's a nice typing game with very good art. Pleasant to listen to as well. Wish it keep counting past 10.

The items I'm very confused about. I only figured out that the items worked because I read the other comments that said they did. (As in: Adding ? or ! at the end of words use items. So does , if you chain multiple words together.) I don't know what the items do. I have no idea where other players learned this information. Did I miss something? Do different versions of the game have different information? (I downloaded the Windows one.)

Played it before I read the rules. Figured out the rules as I went. It was difficult to beat like that, but I did and it felt like an achievement. The squirrel (character that hurts you) being so common made it slightly more confusing. I am also glad that you included the Guide that shows exactly what every animal does and after I read it it became substantially easier. It felt very original to me and like something I'd find on a good plug-and-play game console.

For my future projects I will factor in UI and text resizing whenever possible.

My team would be disappointed if I didn't post our game here. Also, I played Chrysalis and enjoyed it.

True cinematography.

A pretty cool mini-boss fight. Small enough that all the UX feels really polished. Great UI and audio.

Very nice aesthetic and a fun gameloop. I assume you ran out of time during balancing because some critters feel too powerful. The octagon people give way too much money. Cute enough idea I could easily see being turned into a full game.

That was a really cool game! I beat it with the Roach and tried some of the other characters out. Still don't know how to reliable kill the houseflies and if special does anything I wasn't able to figure it out. You can tell a lot of love went into the aesthetic.

Was a cool little simulation. Think I got to around ~250 seconds. Didn't seem like there was much reason to ever spawn a tiger.

Definitely feels accurate. Captures the feeling of a handheld pocket game for sure.

Mouse control was a bit unintuitive. Thought you had to grab the circle's spot, but instead you just shake/rotate your cursor on the big circle. Got the hang of it fast.

This was really nice and comforting despite being probably very complex. Too tired to try to beat it right now, but I'll return to it.
