Loved the Art style
Thank you! Should be a lot more of it when we finish our post-jam release
Really loved the artwork! You did a great job with this game :) Had a lot of fun 😊
The story was nice and i enjoyed the actual gameplay as well but i wished the keys we used actually saved between attempts . Other then that its a really creative puzzle game regardless i enjoy the sprite work especially
Cute game!
I wish previous "tasks" were not deleted when reseting or losing, it makes it really diffcult because you have to remember in addition to understand ^^'
Good job!
the theming and style in this one is immaculate ooh, so so good!
nice game its getting my vibes :3
8.5/10
I like it! The art is very charming and so is the music. I think a mix between rythym and puzzle game is absolutely brilliant, and although there were some issues you already know about, the game was still quite enjoyable.
This is so fun! I also got stuck on level 3 but I looked in the comments and saw your tip to Kayzori. Thanks a lot for this great game! Awesome are and intuitive gameplay 5/5 for sure! Great work!
Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!
really cool game with awesome art and sfx , i really enjoy it!
and also i stuck on level 3 its really hard to win that, idk whats the right loop actions for that
i tried to do that but couldn't figure the right loop action to escape all 3 lazers!
Great idea! Programming + rythm = great vibes :D
Absolutely loved the sound design, how each move made you groove :))
It would help a lot if there was more information on the puzzle available - like when the guns fire (e.g. countdown), or when the gendarme appears, etc
Thanks for the feedback! We have some ideas for how to better telegraph the laser beats and the conductor entrance, which should be incorporated in our post-jam version.
Great job! The starting cutscene is really charming and gets you into the setting.
It is actually a programming game under the hood haha. Here are some feedbacks that maybe could improve the game:
On the looping bar, there is a big red thing and some knobs on the right, but they did not react to input, It feels like the don't do anything and is just aesthetics? If so, It would be great to make them call for less attention (specially the big red thing). They could be more grayed out, for example, and all pushed to the far right.
On the programming game inspiration: one cool thing on grid based programming puzzles games is that once you figured out the solution, you can play in x4 speed to just see the result. But when you have to wait for a slow song for like 1 minute just watching and thinking about nothing is kind of a drag that put me off a bit. Usually the fun of a puzzle game is in figuring out the solution, less in the execution, and much less in just seeing the execution play out for a long time. I don't know exactly how you can solve this downtime as it uses the theme of a music looping. Maybe there is a slow puzzly sound when you are experimenting, but when the player gets the loop right (and the game indentifies it), change to a super energized rock song that goes faster and the player can feel the urge to flee from the guard. Maybe this could add some change of pace to the feelings of a level too, which could be great.
I hope these constructive feedbacks can help improve the game :)
I also made a rhythm/music game haha, so maybe you guys might like it too o/
Great work. Cheers <3
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! I agree with all of your points. I actually chatted about your comment with a teammate today, and the current plan is to include 2x and 4x options on the sequencer, and add some functionality to the big red joystick!
Super creative with really well-drawn pixel art, and fantastic usage of the theme/music. The puzzles were really fun, though I do agree with other comments that the laser timing should be telegraphed a bit more . Other than that though this was a delight to play (:!
Thank you for your kind words! And we definitely have some laser updates planned for post-jam.
Cool art and music and creative use of the theme! Lasers were quite tough D:
Yeah, we realized after seeing a few comments that they're actually bugged. We put a workaround in the itch page comments. Thank you for your feedback!
Pretty nice game play, art and music are lovely, the only thing that bothered me a little is the steps reset on every turn otherwise really fun game.
Thank you! We're planning on incorporating your feedback into our post-jam version!
Very cool mechanic and enjoyable music and sound (besides the loud laser). It's unfortunate that your tiles gets reset after your attempts. Would've loved to have them saved so that you can fine tune your movement. Pacing was a bit steep on level 3 when trying to introduce jumping. Could've skipped the blocking suitcases to teach the player the jumping in a calmer environment.
Thank you for the feedback! We now have a couple levels planned to put between levels 2 and 3 to ramp up the difficulty more smoothly, and letting you keep your loop on a reset is a high priority for a post-jam release.
what a cool game!! very fun visuals and sound, and great puzzle concept and execution. lots of fun!
Thanks for your kind words, we had a blast making it!
Always a fan of pixel art, y'all did a great job on the overall design. It took a bit of experimentation to figure out how to play the game and how the game mechanics worked, I think a little popup explanation before the game starts would help a lot. The difficulty progression from train car to train car is good, but again, it took me a while to figure out the controls. The game mechanics and the way that you interact with the rhythm is creative and strategic, each room is a puzzle. The music is pleasant and the audio feedback is responsive. Your narrative is cute and the cutscene in the beginning does a lot to convey the story. I did run into some bugs when I tried to use the skip mechanic (K), and also there isn't a way to exit the game so I had to alt+f4 to close it. Overall, I really like your game, great job!
Thanks so much for the kind words and for the suggestions! We'll be incorporating a lot of this into our post-jam release. The K to skip wasn't even a planned feature, it was a debug tool that we left in that ended up saving our butts since it prevents some soft locks 😂
Cool concept, great visuals and sound, only problem for me was getting stuck on the first laser level because the laser timings felt inconsistent with the beats of the music ._.
Thank you for the feedback! We found the bug that's messing with the laser timing. There'll be a post-jam fix but for now we added a workaround to our Itch page.
Almost everything about this game is great. Style, Sound, Story, Enjoyment are all good. I would like a way to know when the lasers are getting on, that part was hard.
Thank you! We had a great time making it! There will definitely be a post-jam version coming with improved lasers.
