This was SUCH a fun game & I loved the fusion of fairytales and how far the team was vying for historical accuracy! The inclusion for Text customization & Typefaces is HUGE, thank you for that. Although, I would say to look into other fonts (like OpenDyslexic or Comic Sans to help those hard of reading).
Pros:
Cons:
→ Why Robin was out & couldn't be seen
→ Who John the Blacksmith is
→ The scene with the rock & the shovel felt a little forced & out of nowhere.
I felt like Robin's scene with Lil' John sold the fact that she was some kind of prodigy than the first 15mins (when she was shuffling about town).
I'm looking forward to seeing how the other characters engage with each other, seeing what other prominent fairytale characters from the stories make an appearance, AND OF COURSE, seeing what other romantic paths open up! If you want to see my initial reactions to the game, you can find my playthrough here (timestamps available):
Thank you for the game!
Hello! I'm slowly making my way through the VODs after finishing my exam, and wanted to respond first at the bare minimum before the event ended, to thank you for playing! I'll answer a few of your questions and had one of my own.
Jost is the "pretty" UI font chosen by the designer, and Atkinson "Hyperlegible" is a low-vision font created by the Braille Institute, which is also visually appealing to everyone including folks with dyslexia. Here is a nice explanation of the font. The British Dyslexia Association has said that OpenDyslexic is not a peer-studied font, and also recommended other plain, evenly spaced sans serif fonts including Arial. Hence those were our final 3 choices of font.
The inner thoughts being casual was intentional and preferred by other beta testers as it made it more comical to feel the modern contrast, and allowed their brains to rest from the Middle English. My apologies it had the opposite effect for you.
What other choices would you have liked to have done within the demo's scenes? I'm really curious what ideas you had in mind ^_^
I thought this was well written and quite enjoyable from what I played. I sadly didn't have time to finish the demo but I was enjoying what was there and having fun with the unique take on robin hood. I think you should be proud of what you have, and it's def on my list to check out when the full release comes around.
I really enjoyed Red Rebellion today! My community and I were very excited to share a wlw game!
Overall, I was incredibly pleased with the game. I was a little confused on the thievery minigame, but I think on a second pass, I understand what to do! The story is very well-written and compelling, and I reached the end of the demo wanting more!

Hello Neviah! Sorry for the wait, I finally finished watching your VOD. I definitely got some good laughs in with the Alicia / Thomas commentary of yours XD Thank you so much for playing and sharing with your community! You had a great attempt at the pickpocket game so I'm confident you'll succeed on the repeat play someday (: I'm glad you enjoyed the story so far! And thank you for the well wishes! The exam went well ^_^ I have a few more to look forward too in the upcoming months.
Hi I'm another Feedback Quest 8 streamer! I played Red Rebellion tonight on stream and wanted to leave my thoughts!
First, I love the twist of Robin Hood as a female, and not necessarily the confident, cocky character we know from ye Kevin Costner version days :D Also, I super love Red Robin Hood as her companion. It legit did not click to me on the Hood commonality in their names until this game, no idea why LOL
The art style was absolutely gorgeous, loved the colors and character detail. The backgrounds are fitting for the scenes with just the right amount of detail for each. The first time I saw the wolf, just wanted to pet her floofy face! So cute!
The sound design seemed good to me, and I never really noticed anything particularly jarring with the music. Overall, I found the story interesting, and I was drawn in to wonder why Robin was being chased and seemingly not supposed to be in town or visiting the blacksmith. I presumed that it was her little brother and her mother she was trying to watch, maybe? Also of course, I wondered why she lived in the forest with her grandmother and what led to her deciding to apparently try to become the real Robin Hood, as we start after this has all happened.
Being left with so many questions is of course, good because it got my curiousity and made me wanting the know more. And OMG that scene near the end with Robin and Red, YAS!
I do think it would have helped to maybe have some kind of visual transition when switching to completely different scenes, such as when we went from Robin to the Sheriff talking with his new forced fiancée, as it felt a bit sudden since it didn't feel any different from an on-going scene. I almost got a little overwhelmed by how many characters were introduced in the first chapter, though several were clearly showing off who would eventually become Robin's helpers, so that also makes sense.
Overall the game ran smoothly, with the only potential bug I noticed being when Robin does the three shots - I couldn't tell if I was supposed to have choices or not. As I moved my mouse, it seemed like some popped up, briefly, and so I think I ended up clicking one trying to advance the screen and I have no idea which one I picked LOL
Oh, and the opening bit with the narrator ran by the screen WAY too fast for me to read, and I'm a really fast reader normally. Maybe slow down the text or add manual advancing so people can read at their own pace.

While visual novels are not a genre I play a ton, this one intrigued me enough to wish list it for sure!
Thank you for playing and the VOD! I apologize as I haven't gotten around to watching any as I am still preparing for an upcoming exam atm... T_T
Perhaps I should add a transition image when the POV changes..? Hm... I did wish I didn't have to introduce so many characters so early on, but I think with the amount of events planned for the story it was rather hard to avoid. There's still 3 characters yet to be seen ^^; but you'll see them again and again, and I "hope" players will naturally remember them over time with new events. *fingers crossed*
It seems you and the other streamer both missed the mouse becoming cross hairs and letting you pick to shoot at the butt section, or the actual 3 targets. I'll need to watch both your VODs to understand why. Perhaps I need to give more obvious hint and a more obvious design change. Oddly enough, I was told to add this feature by teammates to make it more immersive, but it seems players instead see a choice disappeared versus it presenting itself differently lol.
I'll need to figure out how to change the opening. The text has actually been trimmed and slowed down from previously... And the way the text works, it doesn't allow players to click through as the scenes and text is timed with the song. I may need to ask the composer to do an opening song tweak to allow more reading time.
I highly appreciate the thorough breakdown and will see what additional polish I can consider ^_^ thank you for the wishlist!
Hello again! I've finally got to watch your VOD. I really enjoyed the voices you did. It makes me wish I could afford adding voicework to the game T_T it makes the scenes a bit more comical and lively. I also noticed you missed the opportunity to click every glossary term that came up in yellow font in the dialogue box. Perhaps I need a better way to tell players it's available... especially "Eden's curse" being really comical in the glossary.
You did a rather amazing job guessing at the pickpocket scene! You had the right idea but removed it at times. But I am definitely okay with players failing that mini-game since that is what Robin wants to happen. I can't wait for the designer to make a better UI for the scene.
The choice scene at the archery was aiming the crosshair mouse anywhere in the butt area "What is adventure without risk?" and any of the 3 target wreaths as "All or nothing," I'm definitely a bit stuck on how to clue players onto the first bit being an actual choice... It wasn't a problem when it was just boxed choices to pick from with the same text.
Thanks again for the thorough critique (: I hope the rest of the game will meet your expectations.
Hi ^^. I'm suki, one of the streamers of visual novels participating in this amazing Feedback Quest 8! The game has its own pace in the way to develop the story, and to tell how is a character, their feelings, thoughts and so on. But one thing I felt a little out of place was... the music background. The music background for the menu was good, but when you play the story, for several lines there is no a melody to emphasize the moment or the context... it's just silence.
By other hand, the design of characters, and scenarios caught my attention. I really enjoy seeing the art^^.
Thank you for playing!! I'm glad you enjoyed everything in the demo so far, besides the lack of music! I have brought this up with the composer/sound engineer and he has been regretful he is still refining the ambient music and whatnot. Hopefully we have a future better polished intro to the game ^_^
Composer for Red Rebellion here! Thanks for the feedback!
There is definitely too much silence in the game currently and I'm working to remedy that! I had my 4th child in January and have been juggling quite a bit, but rest assured there is a ton of new music already on the way! I hope you'll try the demo again once we've got the music updated! I'd love to hear what you think and whether the music fits well.
Thanks again!

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!
Nice to see Red Rebellion here again! Sadly, due to my poor memory I don't remember much of the story itself and had to start over, and due to a growing number of games I can't put in more time to get further and try to provide feedback on later parts. Also, as a visual novel there's not a lot going on save for the story, so there's little to comment on in the gameplay. That stealing mini-game seems new, though, even if I did it wrong.
For feedback, I figured I'd just aim to catch little things that might have been missed or have bugged out since previous builds. These mostly are related to dialogue, but there's one option that never displayed properly. However, there is one thing: I wish there was more music playing. Many scenes are silent until sound effects come in which, while more realistic to life, makes the experience feel a bit duller.
For the dialogue issues, during the first meeting between Alicia and Thomas are problems stemming from slashes being added to it. I believe these are due to the quotation marks being used in these sentences:
- Alicia: "\'Twould make me a lousy host..."
- Thomas: "\'Tis nothing compared to the field."
I also noticed a lack of punctuation in one line from Will when she chases after Robin, where there should be a comma or perhaps an ellipsis after the first part:
- Will: "Aha perhaps this is a fortuitous meeting..."
The bigger issue that I caught, however, was when the options for how Robin does the three ring shots didn't pop up. This occurs right after Thomas states that everyone is waiting on Robin.
If I get more time, I'll try and play more of this before the event is over and see if I can catch more for you.
Thank you for catching the errors. And yes I'd take the VOD! I'll try to watch it once I have time. Some new tweaks are clearly needed for polish for the demo.
