Well made demo, the puzzles were a fun challenge and easy to understand! I liked the comedic story as a way to link the levels together as well. Not sure how many levels are planned for the full game but I look forward to seeing how you spice them up!
Time Stamped VOD
Thanks! This demo is ~20% of what is planned for the full game.
ohh ok, nice! Looking forward to seeing what you do with them!
Here is my gameplay video if needed:
---This is fun! But as it's a demo, I didn't play for that long. The puzzle was challenging, and fun, the story was pretty well written too. The audio was good too. Also, the music probably needs more balancing...
Hm perhaps... An undo, and a hint button would be more helpful, especially for someone who is pretty slow at solving puzzle games like me...
Hi, thanks! There is an undo button! It is in the top right corner, or Z as hotkey. (an you used it while playing)
Ay I missed it I guess 🤣
Overall I enjoyed this and think it's a good addition to the genre.
Thanks! I will redo how levels start (player will need to enter a door) and it will let to replay levels as well. Demo has no save system on a purpose, of course full release will have it. "are we going to find out he somehow managed to destroy an entire castle?" - very close to it. "Completing a level (barrel level) unintentionally is a thing" - yes, that's part of the puzzle, some levels can be done in a "short" way when many items are still not "fixed".
A really solid puzzle game from beginning to end.
I was mildly confused at what to do at first, but once I figured it out, it was smooth sailing from there.
The art wasn't my thing, but I really appreciate how well built all of the puzzles were, and it made me curious how the story unfolds after Olaf loses the thing in the box
Thanks!
An excellent game! I love your art and the music. And the story makes the puzzle so much more alive. I was intrigued by the half-burned letter in the oven. (Was it an oven?) Perhaps there’s some serious drama behind this incident of drunkenness… It would be awesome to eventually get to the king’s castle.
I’ve made it past the level with the demon at the sawmill. The difficulty curve works very well with the new elements appearing right in time to enrich the gameplay, but not too quickly to overwhelm the player. I would say that the level with the cellar and three barrels was a bit too hard. I thought that maybe it makes sense to have, at first, a level where barrels obstruct the path, but you don’t need to pull them around, or maybe there are only two of them? But maybe it’s just me.
Best of luck with your project! I would like to play further if there were a save game.
Ah, one minor thing, maybe for visual improvement:
When a cupboard blocks your way, it’s not always obvious. Like in the screenshot above, I’m unable to move up, but visually there’s a space.
Thanks! You almost completed the demo, after the level with demon there is only one level left and reeval what the bartender kept for you.
A nice and well polished game, it's the kind of puzzles I enjoy doing once in a while. The combination of old tavern vibes and the music can make for a nice relaxing puzzle game. Probably based on my tiredness after a day of work, if I had two things to say, it would be: 1. a little bit too much text for my taste, and 2. I think the introduction to the "take control of this entity and move it" mechanic increases the difficulty a bit too much, all at once. But I'm not sure how you could make these puzzles more accessible
Thanks!
Hahahaha, cute game! I liked the option to switch to ginger ale as a non-alcoholic alternative. The art is cute, and the world map has a level of charm that makes me want to explore it!
Puzzles were tricky at times, but once you got them *a-ha* Thank you for allowing a way to back-up your moves in case you get stuck, which I did a lot. (Skill issue 🤣)
The humor and slow reveal of "just what the hell happened last night??" was solid. Game ran smooth and sounded great!
You can find the video of my playthrough here; starts around the 10 minute mark:

Thanks!
This game looks amazing, visually. I really love the design of it, and I found it engaging for the style of game that it is. Music and sound scape is also top-notch, and I absolutely appreciated not having my ear drums blown out right at the get-go since it defaults to the volume at 50%. That's a very important feature to me.
Having the ability to select a non-alcoholic beverage in stead was really clever. If I might suggest, you could also add "root beer" as an option, since it was something that was actually served at old time bars for the traveler with a sour stomach. They used to say "gimme the ol' sarsaparilla", and that was them asking for root beer by its other name, since the sarsaparilla root does calm an upset gut. You totally don't have to, but I think it could be a fun nod to some random trivia AND it has "beer" in the name. lol
Also really appreciate that the controls were shown on screen, just as a reminder. Sometimes when you're first getting used to a game, that can be really important. Never a bad thing to include.
This might be a bit nit-picky, but when it comes to being told to go to the "kitchen" door, the barkeep says to use the "door to the left", but then the exclamation point goes above the door next to the stairs, not the only door to the left (it's definitely more above than anything else). So I think changing the dialog there could be helpful to the overall story telling.
Level wise, I was stuck by the second level. I skipped it. I'm assuming there's a way to complete it, but I wasn't seeing it. That could just be the way my brain is wired for visual comprehension, not sure, but hints or something would be nice for someone like me that needs a nudge. I don't mind not getting a perfect level, but I couldn't even progress. I think personally I'd like a little more lead-up to the complexity of getting stuck in puzzles, where it at least explained the mechanic of getting stuck (the first time it happened was unintentional and unexpected) and maybe gave a tutorial example of finding your way around things to get the brain looking for those paths.
Overall though, this is going to be the game for someone out there. It feels like some really solid effort and consideration has already been put into it, and I'm sure it's going to be polished into a great puzzle game.
My VOD is here, your game is timestamped in the bookmarks:
Thanks! I'll work on autosolver to validate levels and to score the difficulty to not to trap myself with "it's obvious how to solve this level", and as part of it I can produce hints to the player.
Btw my greatgradma was used to make something that I could name as a "root beer"
You were very close to solve those levels
A very fun puzzle game that can leave you stumped on how to get perfects!
Olaf is a lot of fun with some interesting puzzles for you! Gameplay is fluid and logical, with an interesting story behind it. It also has an excellent sound design, especially the repairing noises!
I will say, one of my favorite features is within the Settings; for folks who play the game and are uncomfortable with the level of alcohol, you can change that to ginger ale! I just think this is a wonderful accessibility feature for everyone.

Thanks! I made that setting early on because of my friend, it not just cosmetic but also removing vomit and burp sounds.
P.S. Another available language is Ukrainian.
P.P.S. You were one level shy from the end of the demo.
Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!
So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.
Ahaha, this was a fun puzzle romp. I loved the game design for these puzzles, making you think about the order you did things in to ensure you didn't trap yourself. I'd say my only criticism was how you couldn't push some things, but given how that's needed for the puzzles to work it's not really a fair criticism so it doesn't exist.
The pixel artwork looks great and the music and sounds are great too. In all honesty, this is one of those games where I feel like it's perfect just the way it is.
The only thing I wanna know is... what's with the Drink option?
Thanks! Drink option is added for players who don't feel well with all burp/vomit sounds, so with Ginger Ale SFX are not so nasty.
Fun style and vibes - def a recommend for sokoban fans:
Thank you for your feedback!
Ok, I can't find too much to say about this one really, and that's a good thing.
Graphics are gorgeous, music is fitting, story is fun and well integrated, and difficulty progression is... spot on, where I was just frustrated enough for a little while and then felt clever when I finally got it. Overall, this is a finished product, a proper game, and I really enjoyed it.
Wishlisted.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Full story is nearly 4 times longer and I want to implement a few more mechanics so I hope you'll find them enjoyable too!
I loved this! Very well done and solid start to the game! The difficulty progression was very nicely paced and skills you use are built upon each other as you get deeper into the game. The theming, music, art, and story are immaculate and I can't wait to see where this goes from here!
Just a few small notes:
The VOD is linked below, it will be available for 60 days. If it's needed for longer, please reach out and a highlight can be made.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback! I already made some efforts to let player understand rules without separated tutorials but for sure I'll think how to make them easier to catch, probably I'll display same stuff on the level somewhere.
P.S. Oh, I see now what did you mean by "if the player looks away". Tutorial plays every time you restart the level so I hope it is not that bad if you miss it once.
Really enjoyed the music and sound effects — especially the little win jingle, that felt great!
I was a bit confused at first about why I’m trying to find my ghost, and the amount of dialogue up front felt a bit heavy. The “drag your friend” part also looked visually similar to the dwarf ghost, so I wasn’t sure at first what was happening.
It would also help if the puzzles were labeled somehow, so I could refer to which one I was stuck on. For example, the one with the 3 barrels took me a long time to figure out, frustrating in the moment but satisfying once I solved it!
Hi, thank you for your feedback! Levels do have names but they are reffered in story and not displayed separately, so level you are talking about is tavern's cellar. Regarding story - for full game we reworked script so there will be "long" and "short" routes, plus recently I added ability to skip whole dialog if needed. Blue ghosts are places where Olaf remember he was, so you need to visit those places to recover whole story. Probably I'll add some vfx to help to understand where is which type of ghost.
