How did you incorporate the given theme in your game?
We were inspired by the nature in the rural community we grew up in to create a "collect-them-all" game centered around flowers and plants.

When we thought of girly themes, we were drawn towards a relaxing gameplay experience with a warm, cute, and feel-good aesthetic.

The story explores the special relationship between a grandmother and her granddaughter, as well as the value of "collecting" connections with those around you.

Wonderful concept, very heartwarming.

Amazing visuals, fantastic job on making a cozy and cohesive world. I also had a bit of trouble with the riddles since I was triple checking the grandmother's notes for the flowers, and not directly the flower entries. Even so I got the flower for "solving the riddle" before the riddle had been solved and another one in it's place? Probably the code is crossed. Adding a glossary book/icon to fast-reference could help a lot. Seeing the flowers back at home was very nice! The song loop was a bit short but not a big issue.

The story was very charming and uplifting. Loved learning about the town and family little by little and contributing to a happy ending.  Grandma felt very welcoming, and the birb was the best character.

OMG I have the most wonderful time, absolutely stunning, the riddles are so funny and it's so well written ?? (I'm often bored by dialogs, but every line of yours are interesting, bringing a story piece or funny) Well done you nailed it !! 💕

Developer

Thank you so so much! That means a lot to us, and I'm glad you enjoyed the story and dialog, we tried to put a lot of effort into it. 😁

Wow this game amazes me. I love the backstory grandma has for each flower. The flow of the story just guides you to solve puzzles to gather more flowers. It's so inspiring as this is the type of game I look forward to make.

Wow, this game! I loved it. It must have taken incredible dedication to accomplish this in such a short time. All the different background and character and flower art, the writing, the UI and custom Dialogic themes, the sheer amount of game logic for unlocking stuff when talking to different characters---which takes forever to playtest and is so difficult to do in jam timeframes---and then you've also got elegant sound design that feels totally natural, and then add on to all of that that the story itself feels heartfelt and emotional without being cliche or overwrought.

I really enjoyed playing and always felt like I could progress by going to different areas and talking to people, and things didn't feel like they were being given away for free. The characters had personality, the story hooked me, collecting the flowers gave a nice sense of progress, the amount of information given and needed for each bit of progression seemed well balanced, and I liked being able to help bring resolution to a story conflict that felt unique to this game. It was just all so well designed and put together, it made for such a smooth experience for me.

I love the different types of flowers and the story of this game, its very cozy and cute, Just the first time i played this game i encountered a bug where on the map, i was unable to click any of the button and was forced to reset the game, Other than that bug i encountered, where im also unsure if its in my part. Its an incredible game, great work :>

Developer

Thank you for playing, that means a lot! Others encountered the same map bug, so it wasn't just you. Working on fixing that so we can update the game after the jam ends!

Very lovely game! The story is cute, and I love the fact that you put information about the flowers, I am very fond of these things.

I played twice but wasn't able to get all the flowers because I encountered a few bugs. In my first run, after solving Oliver's second riddle, I wasn't able to talk to him anymore (tho I could see the chatbox in the middle of the screen appear for a fraction of second), the sandbox was still telling me to solve the riddles, but when I went to Grandma's home, Olver's flower was here. After that, I could not find any other flower, I went everywhere, checked everything highlighted and talked to everyone, but nothing, and I ended up being stuck on the map. On second run I got stuck on the map at 4 flowers.

I want all the flowers tho, so I'm gonna go play other games for now but I will definitely come back here! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, we're glad you're enjoying the game! Sorry that you hit those bugs. The Oliver Riddle bug is due to an issue with indentation in my code. If you type "Red milkweed" (specifically capital R lowercase m), it throws off the quest chain.

Getting stuck on the map is a bug a few people have encountered but it's been difficult to replicate. It seems like it more likely occurs when you spam click a lot.

Definitely will upload fixes for these after the jam period ends!

I really enjoyed talking with the characters and the little quests! I wasn't able to find the last flower though, might be nice to have a more direct hint system like what locations still have flowers left.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Definitely want to improve the hint system in the future and have more quality of life features.

You guys definitely captured the relaxing, warm, and cozy feel of community here!! The cohesive color palette between scenes really tied everything together. I really appreciated the tutorial and tooltips throughout the game and the small details like hovering over the plant names! Of course, I can't forget about the thoughtful storyline and variety of characters. I had a nice experience playing this game, great job! :)

Developer

Thank you so much, we appreciate that you enjoyed all the different aspects of the game! We really tried to keep within a constrained color palette for the art, so we're glad you felt it was cohesive.

A cute and solid concept, and it's pretty much complete. A pleasant narrative and some interesting facts about flowers. Unfortunately I seem to have encountered a bug that stuck me in the map before I could finish, and I'm not sure where to find the glossary that was needed for the riddle by the kid in the playground. I might have missed an obvious clue though. More detailed and bigger art for the flowers in granny's home might have been of greater impact. Overall: very nice!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback, sorry you hit that bug, I'll see if I can replicate it and address it.

The glossary appears when you hover over a flower name, we should have signaled that more for the player!

The art and story was amazing! The popup flower facts was a really nice touch! I was a little worried that the story would take a sad turn towards the end, but I really loved the note the story went out on! I especially loved the color palette and hand-drawn feel to the art. Great game!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you!! Yes, we tried to keep the story on the lighter end, was worried it might be a little too dreary. Thank you for all your feedback!

The story is so heart warming. =>

This was really fun to play! Great job!

I did get stuck with the first riddle and couldn't get past that, but that might be a me problem

I love this game. Its so cute. Everything works. Its simple. Cute and short and practically perfect.

Developer

Thank you so much, we really appreciate that! It means a lot that you enjoyed it, thank you for playing!

Wow your game concept is pretty close to mine (travel map included!). I love how you incorporated a real story and backdrop in your game, every character feels very alive, and you discover a lot of small things about the world which is exciting. The art is very warm to and has a soft pleasing feeling to it. Lots of content here too, great job on this!

This is such a darling game! The collectathon theme was implemented in a lovely way and it was really such a joy to play! I loved all the flower varieties and each characters dialog and story 🌱🌷🪻

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed the dialog, we spent a lot of time with it!

(rotten life retro was so cool!)

This is such a wholesome game <3 I expected it to feel cozy, but I didn't know I'd be learning so much about flowers!~<3 The narrative was very thoughtfully integrated with the gameplay, which I feel is especially challenging for a collectathon theme.

Developer

Thank you! We definitely wanted to try to integrate a story with the theme, it was an interesting one to work with. We learned a lot about flowers as well making it.
(we had a blast with rotten life retro!)
