How does the game fit the theme?
You rescue your dog named Biscuit by climbing and descending a giant tree.
When holding Biscuit, you are chased by an enemy and take on more risk and danger. Without Biscuit, you can take your time.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Only the font, which is VCR_OSD_Mono.

The game actually made me cry, the story is beautiful, the art and atmosphere is some of the best i’ve seen, somehow the gameplay is so foddian and yet it’s calm to play. The music is also quite well made! 1 suggestion:
- Making the whole jumping mechanic faster, as it felt way to slow at points
Great job, amazing entry!
This game is beautiful! The art itself is relaxing but the gameplay is frustrating.
I liked it so much, sadly wasn't able to rescue my dog "biscuit".
This is such a cute and frustratingly fun game haha! I really enjoyed it! As an artist and animator, I absolutely adore the art style, animation, and color palette the team chose for this type of game. I definitely enjoyed the storytelling and narrative in the beginning to set the tone of the game.
Quick feedback:
- Thank you for the hands on tutorial! It took a second to figure out how much I can jump in relation to how much you fill the jumping gauge, but easy to understand the game mechanics.
- When reloading the game to play again, maybe add a skip button or option to skip the intro sequence.
Overall, you guys put together a really beautiful game! Amazing work to the team! :)
Great artwork! The charging mechanic for the jump was kinda unintuitive and mostly frustrating! Regardless, great work <3 *this game was live reviewed here: twitch.tv/gratefulllyivory (will post vod after stream)
Such a beautiful game, the art is amazing! The jump mechanic was a bit difficult to get used to, would actually love a simplified version so I can enjoy the art. Well done! 💛
The meta of the game is perfectly creative take on the theme! The art style is instantly eye catching. I loved this game, spent most time over any other game on this jam playing it. The only bitter part is it was to hard for me to beat so I had to check the playthrough on YouTube.
Few thoughts and suggestions:
-
It seems like the platform colliders are two small so it’s very easy to miss and it’s always super frustrating when you miss the platform just a bit. I think it would be perfect to extend platform down to the leaves and make the leaves platforms one sided, so you can jump through it from the bottom but cannot fall from them when staying on top of them.
-
It would make the game feel even better if you’ll add some SFX for the footsteps, jumps and landings.
-
Opening the web version game in a full screen mode does not scales it properly, the game only occupies small part of the screen.
-
ESC key causes the exit from the full screen mode, so I recommend to use some other key for menu triggering for the web builds.
Really liked the narrative to fit in the theming, also these games naturally lend themselves to higher risks granting more reward!
The art and sprite work are beautiful! I wish the game was a bit easier, especially with the enemies around. I do like the enemy mechanic though.
Cool game! The art is really good. The jumping is pretty difficult, and could use a bit of polish given that's the primary mechanic. Good job!
Jumping should be easier to better enjoy the game. I love the concept. But the jumping kept me. Great story. Very good potential. The art is excellent.
Controls a bit frustrating, the music is really lovely and the art is beautiful. After my first big fall from a few stories I did give up... I'd like it if the charge bar was more balanced i.e. going half charge sends you a bit higher up, allows for more granular control. Beautiful game though! thanks a lot.
