How does the game fit the theme?
In Jarred you play as a Jar and the main objective is to escape from an oven collecting as many biscuits as you can. But it could be very risky because you have only a couple of minutes to escape
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I used some free sounds from freesound.org but the rest is all from scratch

Lovely entry. Why am I unhappy when jumping? Keep up the good work!
Cheers
Thank you for playing. In the hidden Jarred lore. The Jar hates jumping
Nice! Congrats on your first game :)
As others i got stuck with some green platforms, but once i figured it out i could avoid that for a long time.
Thank you so much for playing!!
Fun platformer. 🙌 Most people already mentioned the green platforms soft locking you but also the 'water' looked liked a screwdriver to me for some reason and only after a while did I realise it was water. Good job though. 🙌
Thank you for the kind review :)
Good job for your first game, pretty sure everyone else here has mentioned the potential softlocking as the green platforms have triggers coming from the bottom as well.
Other than that, a full screen and some final detail polishing could be done. Pretty well made first game, hope to see you grow from here :)
Thank you so much for the kind comment :)
Nice job on your first game! It does have room to improvement like the green plataforms collisions triggering when just passing throught them, but it's still a fun platformer and a solid first game!
Thank you so much for the comment :)!!! I’ll be working on this things in the next patch on things like adjusting the melting platforms and other bugs
yeah cool game, but sometimes you can be softlocked cause green platforms just dissapier before you even jump on, but yeah, cool concept and idea
Thank you for commenting! :)
Great first game. The main thing I would change is the sound, it was way too loud and repetitive. Otherwise good job!
great platformer, this can improve further by adding smooth animations

A good first game. I hope to see more!
You will! 👀
I saw so much effort in your game, and it was really enjoyable. I am new to gameJames too, so I hope you will rate my game as well. Good luck for all
Thank you for the comment! I’ll instantly try your game!
The level was nicely laid out with some tricky jumps in there. It was satisfying to make the jumps. Nice bunch of collectables to aim for I tried to get them all. No biscuit or spatula left behind. The cookie jar taking care of the cookies is pretty funny.
There are a few places where the platform will melt when I get near, but before I jump on them, and when they're gone, there's no way up. Those situations were frustrating, since I understood that I had one chance to jump up, but I didn't get the opportunity to try it.
Thank you for the review and for triying my game! And yes, the collision of the melting platforms is kinda unfair some times so you have to take some riskier jumps to prevent them from melting
Nice try for the ever first game, and you even made almost everything from scratch! The music while dying seems to be unexpectedly looping over for a long time, but despite this issue, the game loop is very clear and fits to the theme.
Great atmosphere of the game! Would be perfect to add instruction inside the game) And looks like when you die from the bullet the sound is looped) Nice submission!
Thank you for the compliments! In the next update I’ll be looking for patching sounds and add instruction inside the game
Good game, I had some problems finding out how to play, then I found the tutorial!
Very cool! For some reason this reminds me a lot of the type of things you'd find rummaging through old flash game sites when they still existed! Very nostalgic for some reason lol. My only critique is the movement is a tiny bit floaty
Thank you so much for the compliments! Maybe I’ll work for the movement after the Jam’s closure
I didn't really know what to do with the (I'm guessing) the screwdrivers. It is interesting to see some other game engine than Unity, Unreal or Godot. If this is your first game you did a good job in implementing the animations. Also good choice on the sound effect, EXCEPT as one other comment already said: if you die it is not a pleasant sound for the ears.
Yeah, I’ve noticed this new bug. Sorry for that I didn’t fix because in the preview I just never encountered it. I’ll instantly patch it after the Jam’s closure I promise :), for the screwdrivers.. I guess you’re talking about the keys right? Well In that case you just have to press Z to collect them. In other cases. Let me know.
Very nice game, didn’t really figure out the controls, but it was very fun!
Thank you so much! Maybe I will be making a sort of: “Mini tutorial” in the game’s page so that everybody can figure the controls out 😅
Nice game otherwise but when I died I think some of the sounds got bugged or overlapped and it literally ear r*aped me. But nice entry!
Yeah I’ve noticed right now 😬. That’s a new bug I’ve found. I’ll make sure to fix it in the next patch I promise!
its a good game, did enjoy it :D also congrats on submiting the your first game
i did had a hard time figuring out how to collect cookies, would have been helpfull to let the player know the controls ( i might have been blind and didint see, if so mb)
Thank you for playing the game and yeah, my bad. I was working on making a tutorial but I noticed I wouldn't make it in time. The time was shrinking so yeah. I gave up the idea of a tutorial but maybe I would implement it in an update!
