Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.

Nice work on the game mechanics, it felt responsive and satisfying!

A bug I got was that if dodging into/towards enemies, that they would fly off screen.

Great job embracing the theme!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comment! Yes, many people noticed the same bug, I will be fixing it in future updates!

I loved  the idea of risking it every time you want to take down enemies. great job!

Developer

Thank you! I really put some thought into making a creative concept that really gave risk a lot of importance.

Beautiful game idea.

Mr-isky is well drawn and his animation are stunning, and his name is creative.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your kind words! I recently got a bit into game art so I'm not very good at it, I'm glad you loved Mr. Isky!

Cool game! I had trouble landing the counter and often wasted it. My best score was 5 waves survived. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Ah yes, it is true that it's hard to land counters sometimes, specially if you're playing keyboard & mouse. I planned on adding some sort of aim assist, but I wasn't able to because of the time limit. Thanks for commenting!

Your game is amazing! I really like the gameplay and the art style. That's very impressive for 1 person to make in a week.

Developer

Thanks for your kind words! I did my best.

Other villagers be like...

I am not very good with dodging games but yours was actually easy to follow. Though there was a time when I was dodging a troll's attack but I launched myself to another troll's attack. So I guess I still have a lot to learn about dodging.

ヾ( `ー´)シ

I had fun playing it! Well done! Mr. Isky deserves lots of biscuits from those villagers!

Developer(+1)

If you’re launching yourself to another goblin’s attack, it means you made good progress! At the first waves, they are programmed to let each other hit so only one goblin is hitting at the same time, but that is not the case in further waves!

I’m glad you liked it!

Love how polished this game is!

  • The tutorial was perfect.
  • The story with the with the audio was really creative and fun to watch.
  • The visual colors look really pretty together.
  • It feels extremely good to attack the enemies, especially a double hit.
  • Even the bug you mentioned where you yeet the goblins across the screen is pretty funny.

Only minor feedback is the intro story takes a long time to swap between scenes. I imagine it's because you were trying to match the images to the timing of the audio. Luckily, you also added a skip button, so not a big deal.

Probably one of the most polished and seemingly complete entries I've played so far.

Excellent game!! Best of luck :)

Developer

Hey! Thanks for taking your time with such a kind comment! You guessed exactly right, the music I made was kinda slow so the cutscene takes longer than it should. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really nice looking game, very polished, the ui sounds are pretty satisfying too. Small bug, when you right click (dash) into the enemies, they are sent away the screen.

Developer

I'm glad that you enjoyed the game! I'm aware of that bug, and really didn't know how to fix it, so now it's a feature!

Cool game, I liked the sprites and animation and the cool zoom effect when you successfully dodge. I found striking enemies could be hard to direct accurately and if you press the attack button while not moving you lose the attack charge which can be a bit frustrating. But none the less its a cool game with a nice feel to it. Well done :)

Developer

I actually didn't know about the bug that makes you lose your energy if you're standing still. I'll fix it for sure. Thanks for your kind comment!

Submitted

I enjoy playing it. The dodging and attacking was very good, sometimes it is hard do earn energy but it is good nonetheless.

Developer

Thanks for your kind words! Yes, energy is hard to get, that's the core part of the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really fun game! I loved the dash attack, it reminded me a lot of Wesker in RE4 Mercenaries. The gameplay is polished and the risk mechanic is implemented very well! The art is really nice as well. Overall a great entry to the jam. Good job!

Developer

I wasn’t familiar with Resident Evil so I checked some Wesker gameplay and I did see the dash have some similar vibes to the one in my game! Thanks for your kind comment!

The roll animation was great, i just kept rolling around when I didn't need to for fun. a minor bug i found is i could run into enemies and push them with my collsion then by rolling shoot them outside of the map.

Developer(+1)

Haha, I know about that bug, I didn’t know how to fix it and it made for some fun moments, so it became a feature. Thank you for your support!

Submitted

That's fair i did have a lot of fun shooting them out of bounds!

Very interesting and addictive! I liked everything.

Developer

Thank you for the support, feels great to hear that you loved the entire game, that was my goal!

After playing it for a long time I never managed to get past round 7; it’s a shame because the big guy showed up and I couldn’t even see him in action before I died haha. A very original game—I like the opening story and the music is super catchy. The only things I’d improve are the difficulty and the variety of the enemies’ attacks. Some way to upgrade the character’s stats after dying would have made it feel worthwhile even when you lose. Even so, very good game; I had fun trying to beat my high score in every run :)

Developer

Thanks for taking your time in writing such a helpful comment! I hadn’t thought about adding player upgrades, it sounds good and probably add it when updating the game. Cheers!

Love the concept, and the "post processing"-type effects gave the game a very polished feel!

Developer

Thanks for your kind words, I really put some time in making the post processing feel good!

Submitted

Great game! I love how the dodge feels. I only made it to wave 3 though. I think some enemy variety could really help so you can have more interesting attacks to dodge.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! There are a total of 4 enemies in the game, but it is true that they all use the same attack, thanks for your idea!

This is incredible for just 1 person to accomplish. Id be super proud of myself. The story makes sense and fits the theme well and I appreciate the time spent to make the tutorial. I only made it to the second wave and I feel theres some balancing to do with the waves but it was still super fun and satisfying to play. Loved the vfx and the wave animation. Here's my suggestions for the waves

Wave 1 - 1 basic enemy

Wave 2 - 2 basic enemies

Wave 3 - 1 harder enemy

Wave 4 - 1 harder enemy and 2 basic enemies

and so on.  start easy and slowly get more difficult then the player has more time to warm up and they feel like they still progressed since they got to a later wave instead of just dying on wave 1. Also if u want more ratings post your game on the Brakeys discord and rate others games (u should rate mine btw 😉)

Developer

Thank you for noticing the work put into the tutorial! I wasn't sure it would be well-received.

I am aware that I haven't really nailed the pacing, even I had a hard time winning the game! Thank you very much for the wave framework, I will surely use it when updating the game. Cheers!
