How does the game fit the theme?
CookieBaker is a game where you spend your time baking a cookie but you dont have enough time to finish baking said cookie, and so the player must either risk small ammounts or high ammounts of their remaining time in different mini games in order to obtain more time and succesfully bake their cookie in turn risking it for said biscuit

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
the only assests i did not create on my own where the sound and the human hands, sound was used through freesound.org made by talented individuals and the human hands where stock images.

How many people worked on the game?

Cool game, Did not understand the blue minigame.

Great game. Fun concept and visuals. It did get a bit tricky not 100% understanding what to do especially when against the clock!

Developer

Thanks for trying my game, outa curosity was there anything else specific that was confusing like the clock itself

I didn't understand a lot of what is happening ^^'. The clicking minigame is really hard, I collect cookies without knowing what I am doing, sometimes a hand hit the clock and I cannot do anything against it(?)... All of that is really weird ^^'.  The part I understand are enjoyable (the hand slapping minigame is fun, I love the sound design and the art xD), but I think this game needs a little bit more introduction, or tutorial, to guide the player.

A nice little entry that need a bit of refinement ^^ !

Developer

thanks for trying it and for the feedback as well, will be sure to refine some of the features after the game jams over to create a better game. Thank you again for trying it out and giving some feedback.

The game started really fast and some parts confused me at first, but I got used to it eventually. At one point, one task asked me to click on all the hands to defend the cookie, and I clicked all of them but still couldn’t pass :( Later, trying again, I managed to get through. If you’re thinking of expanding the game, here are some suggestions:

  • You could add an icon to the mouse cursor. Sometimes I confused it with the background.
  • Is the number in the top-left time or score? I wasn’t sure. Sometimes it decreases, sometimes it increases. If it increases when completing tasks, I guess it’s time. You could change the font so it’s consistent with all the fonts used in the game. Also, the font you’re using is sometimes hard to read, and I even delayed completing a task while trying to read it.
  • Sometimes tasks appear back-to-back. You can keep it if you want, but it felt a bit tiring for me.
Developer

thanks a lot for the feedback in retrospect a lot of what your suggesting should of been implemented from the get go, but nonetheless it’s good to get some clarification, thank you again for trying the game out.

The hands kinda clash with the art style quite a bit. Nice work tho!

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback, will be sure to focus on avoiding clashes in the artstyle in the future

the clash can be good it just needs to have more of a  contextual reason for styles that varry that much or a inbetween art style that ties the two together. For instance if the character had the pixel art but then had a super realistic hat and/or boots then the realistic hands dont seem to be out of place. But at the end of the day art is in the eye of the beholder! <3
