Ranked from 40 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
A classic physics based game and the gameplay loop relies on a player building a stack of biscuits against a timer. Controlling two platforms, spawning biscuit bases and throwing them to get them stacked well... Do you have time to apply any jam filling or chocolate sauce?

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code written this week using Godot 4.4.

- SoftBody2d and Rapier Physics engine plugins for Godot used

- Keyboard icons and a couple of others (e.g. for progress timer) from Kenny UI assets pack.

- Music from Ovani sounds Spy music pack

That was so hard! The buzz saw is my new nemesis. I did however manage to make some nice biscuits. The audio is awesome.  Great job!

Super hard but good idea! could increase the friction on the platform a little more :)

Submitted

Really interesting concept and difficult haha

Submitted

Nice game, but it is kinda hard

fun and hard. jst like mine :)

It's a very fun game to play with two people, if you don't mind yelling at each other :)). We really enjoyed it! Some feedback would be it's a tad difficult to get in the time frame, and I was heartbroken when my incredible biscuit got a mere one star!I mean look at that.

Developer (1 edit)

I am surprised that only got 1 star to be fair. It does look a good one!

I found it hard to get the biscuit from the left platform to the right.  But mellow music and good them concept for sure.

Submitted

Fun concept and well implemented just a but a bit too hard! I recommend easing the player in at the beginning

Nice game! I couldn’t really play much since I found the controls a bit hard, but of course that’s just personal. Besides that, it’s a good solo game jam entry !

Submitted

Sadly didn't have a friend to play with but I really liked the idea! One of my first unity projects years ago was kind of similar. Well done!

This was such a good idea! I like the game a lot, even though sometimes it was so stressful! It was so rewarding tho which makes it so good

oh man couldn't get better results, the perfect example that games doesn't have to be complicated to be enjoyable, really great submission a solid 10/10 from me ❤️

Thanks for the comment and for sharing the screenshot. Those bickies aren't too bad and I'm impressed by the clean double stacking. Pretty precise. Needs a bit more filling though. :p

the saw was missing every throw i did 😂

Nice game, was pretty challenging! Well executed.

This is a really goofy idea, and I loved it, I would have made the biscuits a bit more stable on the 2nd side, but overall a fun game :D

Hard but that makes the reward even better! With 2 players it was a blast and I think thats where the game shines!

Quick Suggestions:

  • A limit on how many biscuits may fall when pressing space could increase the risk and also the reflexes to actually catch them!

Congrats well done!

Very fun and creative game! I had a lot of fun with this one! well done mate!

This game was more fun than I am comfortable to admit, I loved the somewhat clunkiness of the controls. I would probably make it a bit more difficult by allowing the biscuits to go off the screen, as now my tactic was just to yeet it to the other side and catch it off the wall. I think the foto at the end of the round and the star system together with the animations make this really shine. Nice submission, congrats!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I recognise the jankiness and ability to 'outplay' the game... :) Or was that on purpose? Did you spot you can spawn a biscuit before the 3 seconds counter completes and the game gets going? I left that in there... :p

Really fun and tough as nails. The photos at the end add a nice touch, even if two of them are empty haha. Love how you can play it solo/coop without changing the game at all. (Edit: omg i just realized you can move the pans up and down lmao, makes it quite a bit easier.)

I think the pan's acceleration doesn't reset when reaching the edge of the zone? Feels a bit weird and almost like it's stuck for a moment. (Had the same keyboard issues someone else mentioned, took me a moment to figure out what buttons those would be on mine. Only a minor gripe tho.)

Btw I remember your game from the last jam! That was a really great submission as well!

Fun creative game. I can tell you I didnt make very beautiful biscuits playing solo. Maybe I should have looked up what a jammie dodger looked like, but I don't think it would have helped much. Anyway I had great fun. The experience feels well put together for a jam, easy to pick up and enjoy. Nice work!

Btw the [/] key does not exist on swedish keyboards (it's on shift + 7). Other european countries will have similar problems. For me the correct key is [-] which is in the same place (?) next to the period key. For extra pain check out how we make curly brackets {} when coding (Alt Gr + 7)💀

Developer

Thank you so much for this feedback. I was going for a key next to the right-shift and was naive and forgot about different keyboard layouts.  Doh!! I was keen for the right hand (or the player on the right side) to be able to work with keys close together.

Submitted(+1)

No worries. And I think my comment was a little unclear but the [-] key actually works so the layout for playing the game is as intended I think! Right hand has change filling - apply filling - swap mode buttons next to eachother. The info screen will be a little confusing for some is the only problem since they can't look for the [/] key. I found it by just pressing every button 👍

Developer

Thanks again for your comment about the keyboard keys. I pushed up a wee patch last night where I converted the mapped keyboard position to the local players key and then displayed that character. I tested it locally by changing my keyboard language which worked when in the editor and previewing with French and Spanish keyboard layouts, but when I uploaded it, changing the keyboard did not alter the keys...

If you have a minute would you mind launching the game to see if the correct keys are displayed on the main menu screen?

Ta much!

Submitted(+1)

Had a look and it doesn't seem to have changed anything for me I'm afraid. Still seeing [/]. Some kind of limitation of the web version maybe? Idk

Wow you guys! The game is HARD but it works! A really interesting take on the risk theme, I just wanted to make a cookie!
