I love fishign! game is very fun and the fish mini game is great, definitely too hard but enjoyable once I got the hang of them. the maze ended up being harder haha
really liked the radio aswell, sad I couldn't hear the music while fishing for the first key
I love that the fishing mechanic in this game is you playing as a fish in these mini platformer levels, its pretty comedic and unique! I could not get past a single level, I think it would be great if the levels progressively got harder as you collect more fish. Also the intro with the radio was a nice little immersive touch!
Love the concept - minigames were all too fast for me and I had to give up on getting more than one fish after playing for a while - would be great if there was a speed setting!
I love the capsule art, it looks like a minecraft painting! I think the speed of the bubbles in the minigames were a little too fast for me, I died a lot HAHA
The art and the color scheme was really good, and I was vibing with the music! I definitely did not expect the twist in game genres, and I had to tap out at the maze section because I was too much of a coward (ended up watching the rest of the game on kiki cake's stream)
I totally get dying a lot, my sense for difficulty is a little skewed as I play bullethell games a lot. I appreciate the compliments on the art direction, I'll make sure that my friend who did the art hears this!
Super cool and creepy. I'm glad I made bffs so easily out of laziness
Thanks for playing the game! The playthrough of it that you streamed was super entertaining!
Hahaha this was so weird in the best way. The sound design with the radio is really what makes the vibe. The announcing and the songs were integrated in such a great way to add a lot of life to the game. The songs were great!
There were some fishing minigames I wish I could have perfected, but alas, I ended up mostly winning the easy ones. It was a different take on fishing minigames that I enjoyed.
This was a memorable one, for sure!
Oh, editing to say: I got ending 1. But I don't have a guess as to what could have led to another ending, and I so want to know.
The way that you get ending 2 is that you have to fish up EVERY FISH at EVERY SPOT. I really appreciate you playing the game, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I liked the difficulty in this, mainly since there were at least different kinds of mini games in case you're really bad at one kind. Like for me the undertale style ones were too hard but then I was fine on the other stuff like the platforming sections.
Also I liked the use of the radio that was very chill. Cool mood in this game
Thanks! The starting area was definitely meant to have a chill mood, I'm glad that came through!
Like what the people below have said, i didnt expect this to turn into a horror game, so gotta be honest, it was too dark on the maze area, i exited it midway cuz kinda afraid a jumpscare would appear, about the fishing minigame, i find the difficulty a bit too random, some of them is very afkable, some of them is very difficult to the point i dont even try to do it and just do the easy one, and also about the crackling noise sound effect, im not too sure if its in the game or if my headset is broken. Anyway although it was a wild unexpected experience, it was pretty well made as your first 3D game, Great Job :>
Yeah, sorry about it being so dark in the maze, that was not intended. I think after the jam is done, I'll leave a warning that it turns into a horror game. Thanks for playing the game though!
I'll admit I definitely wasn't expecting this to turn into a horror game, but it wasn't an unwelcome surprise. The fishing mini-games are fun and the atmosphere is pretty palpable. My only complaint is that the inside of the big maze is a little flat and bland. I get that the point of a maze is to get lost, but a bit more detailing could could have made it a lot more interesting. Also I found a few bugs; if you exit fullscreen on the web version, your mouse becomes unlocked from the center of the screen and you can no longer look around properly without restarting. Also, you seem to be small enough to sit completely still in some spots of the survival mini-game and be completely safe.
I thought I patched out all the spots where you could stand in the survival game without getting hit! Oops! I think if you press escape a few times in the web version, it should bring you to the pause screen, where on resuming the mouse cursor is locked back in. Thanks for letting me know that there's still spots in the survival game, and thanks for playing!
Will be a bit more feedback oriented here, as I mentioned on the game page I enjoyed the experience! For reference got ending 1/2.
The visuals are great, so is the music and SFX selection. The dialogue is pretty straight to the point, enjoyed reading the main character's comments and freaking out. I also enjoyed the story and concept of the game.
The camera movement is a bit weird, It stops as soon as mouse gets to the border in fullscreen/off the window in borderless which makes for some unneeded clunkiness. On the last sequence I couldn't turn as much as I wanted because of a 2nd monitor plugged in and ended up facing a wall and walking sideways to the door lol probably my biggest "issue".
I think the flashlight could be just a bit stronger, as the maze is already a bit confusing as is. I don't think it would diminish from the... very bright objects.
The microgames could be rebalanced a bit, they go from fairly hard to "afk-easy" at seemingly random, and the abrupt change provides a bit of a frustrating experience. The jumping sound was super goofy xD
Super minor, but the audio could be rebalanced a bit, the ocean effect is too loud at first. The main menu icons could be a bit bigger as well.
Lastly I enjoyed the "surprise shock" twist, but I do think for a game people will randomly open it should be a bit more explicit in the description.
Edit: Lastly, congrats on the first 3D publication!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure why the camera was having issues, I tested the game with two monitors and it worked fine? I do agree that the flashlight was a bit too dark, and the minigames were a bit unbalanced. If I ever update the game, I'll be sure to use your feedback, so thanks again for leaving a comment!
