Very creative concept, very cute artstyle, very good music, obviously balanced well, funny jokes, what's not to love?
(sorry I broke the 69 reviews)

Man, amazing game, it's a genuine creative and unique gameplay, amazing graphics too! Now, I'm not good at it, so y'all getting straight one stars.

Really cool game, the ducks are pretty, and the variety in gameplay is good as well, the one I liked the most was Cowboy Duck. Such a badass guy, and it's really useful, to attack in range. Congrats

This is really good! Ducks are cute, I like the variations of the ducks and the look of each of them. The pacing of the game is also really good. I like the fact that it starts from just two basic ducks and slowly builds up your repertoire. It really makes the learning experience super smooth and gets the player up to speed really quickly. The power of each duck also clearly matches how it looks, which is a major plus. Gameplay-wise its also decent and enjoyable, with some quinten multiplayer magic that somehow got cast at a jam game, this is probably one of the better multiplayer autobattler you can get.

The only criticism I can think of is that the lack of sound effects for the ducks really hurts the game. Just feels like something was missing, especially with the nice background music you have there.

Anyway, this would probably make a really good mobile game. I like this a lot. Well done!

Glad you enjoyed, Ty for the kind words! :D

Sound effects during combat you mean? (They should quack in the teambuilder and gacha) I considered it, but at 8× speed, it'd be too noisy I'm afraid

DeveloperSubmitted

Was actually quite fun hopping in a jam team near the end just for adding in multiplayer :D

Might do that again in the future.

Definitely a fresh take on turn-based combat. Love the risk/reward mechanic of trading in your existing ducks for new ones. Beautiful presentation as well. Well done!

The ducks are all so cute, whoever designed and arted them cooked so hard ^-^ the music is also amazing. Thankyou for making this awsome game for us all to play. ^-^

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! Had a lot of fun working on the pixel art

Cool game, the artwork is so great!

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+2)

The artwork is great! My favourite part is gambling away my poor ducks hehe

Developer(+1)

Noooo, don't gamble him😭

It was fun seeing the art as it came along in discord, this was great! Duck management, like moving them directly from slot to slot, could’ve been a lot smoother and nicer. Would’ve been nice to view their stats on the gacha screen. Also would’ve appreciated seeing rarities or some kind of sense of what was stronger at the start, it was confusing at first. I was confused when i seemed to max out my losses and could still keep playing, and the balance made that not super compelling to me, but nobody can fault you for imperfect balance in a week long game! The gacha could’ve felt more… integrated? or thought out? It didn’t feel like I was really risking it for the biscuit with the choice to use it or not. The music was fun, visuals were great, and the game was a nice build on the Super Auto Pets formula. Honestly think this has some legs to it if you developed it further, the rubber duck theme lets you do some really fun and clever things!

Thanks for playing!

The balance of the fights themselves is hugely reliant on the teams other players made, since its an async multiplayer game.

Each level of trophy gets taken into account when rolling an enemy team to fight. to prevent fighting teams that are too under/over-leveled for you.

Can't provide much exttra dev insight in the other parts you mentioned as I purely was onboarded as the backend dev :D

Maybe NaturalPower can though!

Been looking forward to this from the visuals youd share in the discord and it did not disappoint, very nice game

Developer(+2)

Aw thank you so much!

Submitted(+3)

Too addictive, I gambled my entire family just for another pirate duck

Developer

Lmao, glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+2)

What amazing sprite work. The whole package looks so professionally made. Clrearly not your first rodeo. Bravo.

I never managed to pull a cowboy duck - or figure out what it is they do.

I'd appreciate get enlightened.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed, PaleGhosts' art is crazy, here's her instagram lol: https://www.instagram.com/pqleghosts/
She never really did pixel art until we started our first jam a year ago though!

The cowboy duck's not actually very good, so no prime teambuilding opportunities missed lol
He attacks an enemy 2 spaces ahead, and if he doesn't hit anything, he moves forwards (but all enemies either stop in front of him or two/three spaces away after retreating, so he rarely actually hits something)

This game has so much detail, it's amazing. I love the duck sounds and all their designs.

Submitted(+2)

Visual and sound are great, a very polished game.

I can only think of one thing : QUACK, and thank you for that xDD love the art style too

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed! :D

Our SFX artist Scarly spent days perfecting his quacks!

Submitted(+1)

It was perfect, you can set Scarly free now !

Developer

Actually he did such a good job, I've decided to keep him

Dw, I'm feeding him plenty of biscuits

My pixelart nerd-heart bleeds when I see pixel text that does not match in size with general resolution. You have a wonderful cheerful art, I know it is tricky, but be brave to implement a suitable pixel font when the ratings time is over!
Nice sounds ngl

Developer

Lol I'm sorry😆❤️

Man fonts are just so annoying to both find and deal with >.>

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

I agree the typography in game rn is not super great.

But if Nate updates I still would take a more readable vector font over a pixel font anyday. or atleast have it be an accessibility toggle. :)

Submitted(+2)

Quite a fun game. I love how it looks, reminds me of old browser games I used to play.

Developer
