Great climbing mechanics in this game, the terrain/snake length makes you think differently as you progress. Love the extra details you've added like the family narrative added to the beginning.

The mechanics are creative but deceptively easy. Just when I thought I could speed through it, it didn't quite work out and I fell lol. The art and background music worked well together and I liked the vibe, though the sound effects felt a bit too crunchy for me. Great job!
SNAKEBIRD + JUMP KING HOW DOES THIS WORK?! This is so incredibly good. The art and sound effects are truly lovely and endearing. I am already a big Snakebird fan, but I never would have expected it to be so good in this format. It provides such tension and consequences. The level design is a little on the easy side, but I think that was the right call here, as difficult puzzle solving so high up could be really frustrating for a jam game. It ends up playing less like a rage game and more like a puzzle game with consequences, which I think works so well. Tiny nitpicks, but I did find it pretty easy, but more difficult situations would be better suited for a longer game anyway. Also, I think the risk is more of an inevitability rather than something the player has agency over. Could have riskier paths that net more rewards (obviously, that wouldn't work here as you need the cookies). Hope this game does well, it's so good and really polished
Thanks for all the feedback! The gameplay is a bit on the easy side, but yeah, as you said well I wanted to be careful to make sure most people could finish the game in a reasonable time or not get too frustrated since its a game jam game. I'm glad you enjoyed it and that you liked the sound and art, thanks for playing :)
This game is amazing, the concept is so clever which makes me say: “Wow, I wish I had thought of that.”
I was initially hooked by the cover art (very cute btw) but I definetely stay for the gameplay (I win).
I see you know which are the problems of the game right know (remaining stucked, audio bugs etc.) so I won't repeat them
What I have to say is that making the level design of this game seems so hard, you have to think to a lot of possibities like giving the player room for repositioning or make early stages easier if you are longer. So well done!
Hope this will become a real game in future
If you try mine let know what you think!
Full stars! This is an amazing entry, I wish you two good luck and hope to see more of this game. Add some more levels and a few dangers and this could become a full game. It's definitely got the charm and fun already!
the game is great, but it doesn't have a good ending. I reached the end, but there was nothing
This game was really exciting ^^.
LOL I think I am stuck here 😂😂
If I had to pick a favourite of the games I've played so far in this jam it must be this one. I love the gameplay and I think the level was cleverly designed. It was very fun when you realized you had made a mistake and whatever you did next would lead to a fall. The game in whole felt very well put together and the beautiful art and audio went nicely together with the cozy gameplay.
I also got softlocked, but in a way where I was still stuck after resetting. It was when the body covered the tile above and the tile to the left of the head. It could probably easily be solved by having the reset area be a little flatter.
And an idea I had when playing was platforms that break after a set amount of turns. It would probably play quite different from the timed ones, but maybe it could be fun!
I also got the three hidden cookies at the left side of the level. Not sure if the extra length they gave made another secret accesible, but it was fun nontheless to play through the level with 3 extra body parts!
Thanks for all the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed our game! Sorry about the soft lock bug, we didn't quite manage to fix that, although your idea of making it flatter would have definitely worked. A move based breakable block would have been interesting! Nice idea. And you found the debug cookies! They were for testing so we could quickly complete the game😂 :)
Very cute and very well implemented mechanics. I also softlocked myself but since I figured out you can just press R it was fine. But would probably be helpful if the game detected if you can't move any more and displayed the reset button on the screen, or something like that.
Open world Snake! Really cool concept and execution, love the art style, sound design and level design. Really great job!
The movement system is so unique and intuitive. The level design is great and does a good job of introducing new mechanics. Had a lot of fun playing and figuring it out. Nice game.
Really cute and amazing looking pixel art, the puzzles were creative, but I wish there was like an undo button for some dumb mistakes as at some moments I felt like “professional retard” from SpongeBob, and had to reset the whole thing, but overall a fun game :D
