Ranked from 50 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
This online multiplayer game features a wager mechanic where both players must bet on how many cookies they can eat within the time limit. The player who makes the highest wager will win if they can succeed in the challenge, hence risking it for the biscuit.

Additionally, we opted for a "cookie" theme, which we refer to as "biscuits" here in Australia. So it still counts lol.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
> Official Unity packages
> Odin Inspector
> Kenny environmental assets

How many people worked on the game?

This is awesome!!
Love the matchmaking system too! Makes it so that you can find a match even if you don't have someone ready to play with on hand. Great for a jam with 2,000+ submissions when most people want to just hop into a demo. Next time I make a multiplayer game in a jam, I'll be sure to add it!

On that note - I'm curious how y'all got play testers; did you just play among yourselves? Found I was more reliant on play testing sine I couldn't play the game by myself. Fortunately got some good feedback from friends but with multiplayer you just need more testers.

Developer(+3)

Thankyou so much for the kind words ^-^ as for testing we did alot of the early testing. We got a build-up online pretty early into the jam and that made testing pretty easy, even when the game was just a few text boxes and buttons. Once we got alot of the art and gameplay down it was mainly family and friends we got to try out the game to give their input. I think testing early and often is always a good approach. ^-^

Absolute blast.

The land sharks are the most adorkable things ever. They look great, and moving at different speeds on land and water is a nice touch.

Had to rope in a mate to find someone to play with but was absolute worth it. No issue with the connection, worked like a charm, black sorcery propably.

I'm not sure anyone else was mad enough to submit an online multiplayer title! Cudos and bravo!

Developer (1 edit) (+3)

Thank you so much, so glad to hear that the multiplayer works especially, that was a white knuckle ride in terms of programming lol.  I really appreciate all the nice things you had to say. Thanks for roping a friend in and playing <3

Submitted(+4)

Very creative! It's the first multiplayer game I've seen around here. I played it with my girlfriend, and it was fun!

Developer(+2)

Thats super cute, I hope you two enjoyed playing. ^-^

Hi there! This was our first time making a multiplayer game, so it's great to see someone got web networking running ( we use port forwarding as we ran out of time!) The art style is fun + feels consistent. I really enjoyed being able to run around in the menu while waiting for players. Could see it being built on to make a party game with lots of minigames!

Developer(+1)

Yooo a fellow idiot who thought multiplayer would be a good idea for a Jam.  Thank you so much, that's really nicely put. Keen to check out your game ^_^

Submitted(+1)

i have no one to play with :(

Developer(+1)

Oh noo, someone said they posted in the GMTK discord asking if anyone was down to play and they where able to find someone, you could try there. ^-^

Submitted(+2)

Looks pretty! It's as you commented on my multiplayer entry - there needs to be other people playing, so I didn't get it to work.  I had some luck after posting on the Brackeys discord that I would play a match with anyone who wanted to try it.

Developer

That's awesome, Im glad you were able to find someone to play with ^-^ Thank you for playing.

Submitted(+1)

Wow what is this, multiplayer game in game jam?! Kudos for finishing this in a week. Awesome work all around, great concept, great sounds, and just have a little blast/fun time with friends, what more could you ask for.

Developer(+1)

Thankyou Cozi was working overtime on all the net code stuff, he is very talented. ^-^

Submitted(+2)

An actual multiplayer game! Insane. I loved the polish! I don't have any friends to play with, though, so if anyone's down to hop on this. I'm super excited to see a multiplayer game in this jam.

Submitted(+1)

I can't play because nobody's online but the visuals and character movement is so excellent for a WebGL game I'll just give a great rating based on that.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words ^-^ I would recommend jumping on a Discord call with a friend and playing at the same time, it will put you two in a game together and its a lot of fun to play with friends. ^-^

Submitted(+3)

This is a very creative and fun submission. Betting against the other player creates an interesting dynamic and it's fun to hide the cookies. My biggest feedback would be that the controls are a little bit difficult. Some of the jankiness adds to the fun, but I would suggest locking the mouse inside the game window and giving the player a large cursor so they don't lose track of where they're steering.

But overall, great submission!

Developer(+2)

Thanks a mill for the kind words and great feedback, we might just have to have a fiddle around with the controls for a post-jam update then.
Much love and appreciation!

Submitted(+3)

Great work! The movement was very fun. It was tricky trying to place cookies that were well hidden enough. Loved it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you loved ya time sharking it around <3

Submitted(+4)

A really fun game to play with friends, the movement is extremely satisfying and the concept, on par with execution, make for an extremely fun and addictive party game!

Developer(+1)

Yay, really glad you liked it, thank you for playing ^-^

Developer(+1)

Thx, that's honestly so nice to hear ^_^

Submitted(+4)

I have to wait until my friends get on to play but I will give you five big booms BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Developer(+1)

The booms are very appreciated, excited for you and ya mate to have a play

Developer(+1)

5 Booms for the booms Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Thankyou for playing our game. ^-^

Developer(+2)

It’s been an absolute pleasure doing my first ever jam, and i was lucky enough to join these guys! They’re incredible! Love seeing that our 2 projects are the brainchild of many minds, it’s really satisfying.

Thanks for stopping by!

Developer(+1)

hahah I wish you luck with your cookie-cutter sharks training arc, one day you will be able to defeat your friend XD

I am but a simple man, I see cute sharks - I play!

To my dismay I was only able to play couple of rounds with someone (who promptly left), but the idea felt quite interesting. Maybe, if the map was a bit bigger or a bit more complex to hide cookies or make it harder to retrace trail, it would have been even more fun and engaging.

After that, I was happily spinning my shark on waiting screen for like 5 minutes =D

Developer

Im glad you were able to get a game, but sorry they left >~< I would recommend sending it to a friend and playing with them in a Discord call It's been so much fun seeing my friends go head to head. ^-^

Submitted(+3)

Damn how can this be for free, kudos to the team

Developer(+1)

Its free real estate :D

Submitted(+4)

Load the game up and instantly get hit with an absolute banger of a song. That's a five stars for audio instantly. Look at these models they are absolutely astounding five stars for visuals instantly. Dude, AND there's multiplayer, instantly five stars on every category. Massive respect for that. I know the struggle of making a multiplayer game for a jam. Game play is fun and innovative. And a working web build?  I mean you guys have yourselves an indie studio right here.

Developer(+1)

Omg thank you for the kind words. Everyone who worked on this game is super talented and they are amazing friends.  We are really glad you enjoyed it. ^-^

Developer

As the team’s composer, it brings me immense joy to see you enjoying the music! These guys are so talented, it’s been an absolute treat to work with them. Hopefully the game gets some love and further development, I’ve really fallen in love with it :)

Submitted (1 edit) (+4)

That was really fun! Very cute sharks, the controller was VERY smooth and the cookies looked really delicious haha. The fact that this is multiplayer is insanely good, and I'm 100% saving your game for the future. If you guys decide to expand on this and sell it, I will buy it and tell all my friends!

For the nitty gritty! One thing I guess was being able to see the placement of the cookies of the opponent's AND them beforehand. I would be fine with being able to see one, but seeing both as a person who is really into puzzle games for the most part made it a lot easier for me to determine where they were. Possibly the stage being smallish might actually be the real issue for me here but I would have to try it in something bigger first to know.

The game is great guys! keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Thankyou so much for playing and the detailed feedback ^-^ I would love to keep working on the game and I think a few others on the team do too ^-^ I think having a little screen after each fight that shows where all the cookies of both players were placed along with the winner of that round able to do some emotes or something for a feww seconds would add a lot of polish and personality to the game. Fingers crossed, we can keep working on it and continue to impress you. ^-^

Submitted(+1)

That action replay and emote idea would definitely be a fun addition! I truly mean every word, one of my favorites in the Jam!

Developer(+1)

Wow, thank you so very much for the kind words! You really are true to your word, I wasn’t ready for something so insightful, literally blew me away! I hope the rest of the team is as motivated as I am to continue work on this, but then again, I have the easiest job :’)

Thanks again!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thats too sweet ty <3. Might just have to turn it into a fully fledged game with your encouragement, ty for the feedback ^_^

Submitted(+3)

I didn't expect to have this much fun. Models are very cute and the game loop is really nice.

Developer(+1)

You were so tricky to play against, well done! Glad you had fun :)

Submitted(+4)

Multiplayer games are always impressive for a jam. Well done! I liked the different movement between land and water, I think more maps playing with mechanics like that would be super cool.

Here's a vod of me playing your game. Thanks for sharing and playing with me!
