How does the game fit the theme?
To progress, the player needs to use the randomly generated assets, which recquire great strategy, good luck, and some risk-taking jumps
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Only the player's base movement code that I've borrowed from an old project of mine

Had fun playing the game, a nice charm to it. The gameplay needed a bit of balancing and checkpoints. I like how there can be multiple solutions to an answer, quite innovative. The risk is quite well integrated in the game, from the shop to platforming itself. The visuals and audio were very cool, reminded me of good ol' PC platformers.
Played it on stream - Stream Feedback
thank you SO MUCH for playing it on stream! Huge accomplishment for us! Again, taking crticism as ferdback to better improve it!
I really love the concept of placing items to solve levels, and the visuals are really nice! good job on making this in 7 days
Man it was no easy task to make it on 7 days, we almost lost the deadline
I liked it a lot. The art is very good and the game is fun to play.
I were several minutes trying to get all the trophies of the second room.
just don't risk it too much, you need HP for the first boss
First I was a little bit confused what to do. Then I read how to play :D Some levels are quite difficult with RNG, but risk is for the biscuit. Loved the visuals and sound effects with music.
thanks! First time experimenting with dynamic music, both I and the composer
Glad you liked it!
Other people have commented about how confusing item placement was, but yeah, it really makes the opening pretty frustrating. I also thought I was being offered 3 planks but I guess maybe that’s the maximum amount that can be placed? I love Ultimate Chicken Horse and it’s cool to see that idea in a single player game, but the gravity is slightly high and unforgiving imo. Seems like something that could be pretty fun though!
the number on the right side of an item is to resemble how long it is
3x means the plank is 3 times longer than a block, 8x means its 8 times longer and so on
I will also consider your opinion on gravity for the next-maybe-will-happen update
This is a really nice game, well done
tysm!
Enjoyed the creativity of the game. A bit confusing on refreshing shops and placing the items, but overall was pretty nice
What was so confusig about placing items? Lemme know so I can update it after the jam ends!
Mostly the bouncing pads that would disappear when placed on spikes. Noticed it later that it's not suppose to be placed there but items and coins both were gone. Some item placements like planks and stairs were quite hard to place at some corners of the platform. Those were the two things that seemed a bit confusing and took me a few tries to understand :D
for the breakable items there were supposed to have a sfx and particles showing that the said item was destroyed, but sadly i didn't had time to implement that :(
Btw thx for the feedback!
I only got to level 3. The game is very difficult, but I liked it. I really liked the death screen, it's atmospheric. It would be great to add some kind of effect when building objects, so that the player doesn't get lost
I had plans on adding particles when you place a block and when a block breaks but time was short and i had to focus on gameplay :/
I'm no expert using particles either. The fan particle emitter on the HTML version breaks and stops working, and thus makes the downloadable version the, sort of, definitive version
That's a fun take on the platformer genre! I was a bit confused when I could pickup items I couldn't afford from the shop, but I figured it out. Maybe adding more items to chose from in each shop would reduce the number of soft-locks, or having one or two useful items that are always available. That might detract from the random challenge aspect as well though. Good job!
i also thought about adding a slot dedicated only to solids and one for the level objects but as me and my friends tested, it wasn't as fun or as challenging/difficult to play that way
so i guess random generated items is a fun way of testing your luck and skill lol
The art and music are awesome. but i was having issue when i would place something it sometimes dissapears.
but great job love the concept
it's not that items are disappearing, they're breaking
falling items (like the wooden platforms and the spring) tend to break to spikes and lasers, so be extra careful with them!
also, thanks for appreciating!
nice! solid gameplay loop and very unforgiving in the best of ways, enjoyed the oddly metroid esque music
testing this game was as close to torture as possible
Interesting! I love the capybara.
the capybara was a complete "accident"
the protagonist was supposed to be a dinosaur, but the spriter decided to make a capybara on suit as a joke and we agreed to use them because why not?
Ooh I like that I can add stuff to the levels. Awesome game. Enjoyed it. Best of luck to you!
thanks!
i felt the inspo from ultimate chicken horse meets capybara. The fade to black was a nice addition to the death animation which made it not feel too rage baitey which i prefer. I can see this being the multiplayer route too with its own twist of UCH mechanics
there were a lot of inspiration from uch, even though i, the programmer, haven't played it at all. i might've only seen 2 or 3 gameplay videos and said "yeah i got the idea" and proceeded to make it
This is quite cool, like a singleplayer ultimate chickenhorse!
don't say it out loud, it was our secret sauce! 🤫
An interesting little bridge builder that nicely expands on the original formula of just building your structure and watching the rest unfold automatically.
Keep up the good work!
thanks for your review!
we'll probably keep updating it if school doesn't bother us too much, but probably focusing only on small changes like adding a title screen and a better ending
Cute game!
aw, sweet :)
