How does the game fit the theme?
Our team decided to try a systems-design approach with the game. We wanted to create a game with card and 'Balatro-esque' mechanics, but with a different thematic twist. The risk involved in gameplay is: balancing achieving high combos with maintaining the required flavor profile with each order. We wanted to make a game that felt risky, but was thematically cutesy as it's not often associated with the word 'risk.' We also liked the idea of a cafe specifically dedicated to biscuits.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
There are two sound effects in the game from freesound (select and deselect). Everything else was made by us.

The art style is cute! but the ingredients are hard to tell apart from eachother and I coulnd't quite understand how to play, show don't tell is always better than a wall of text for your tutorial and your art style is really cute so that may help!

Loved the visuals on this one and I thought the concept was interesting, but I just couldn't quite figure out the gameplay for it. I like the idea of having flavour combinations that affect how much customers enjoy the biscuits and I thought the mechanics could be interesting but sadly the UI just confused me a lot as to how to play the game so I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I had hoped to (kept looking for an 'add ingredient' button lol). Still, I appreciate the level of polish you all were able to achieve for your game, great job!

The artstyle is very cute!!

The style and concept for this is so cute!! I got kinda stuck since I couldn't find the eggs, but I'd love to see this fleshed out some more at some point. Great submission!!

Like others said, the UI was a bit confusing to get the ingredients, but the visuals and the idea were awesome!

Really awesome comic. I read through the instructions twice but I don't think I quite got the game. A lot of ingredients and a ticket on the right that kind of points to making a cookie with one dominant ingredient. So I just mashed mix with the random ingredients and made the quota HAHA

Not sure what the green bars represent either. I really like the art style and other comments already expressed my view on the cooking.

Super great game, you guys are definitely cooking

I ADORE THIS!! the gameplay aspect does need work cause some ingredients straight up just dont show, and some more clear instructions would be great (but its also a game jam so i totally understand) i hope to see this game get developed further! i love it!!

The intro comic was amazing!!! the chihuahua boss behing held by his guard??? loved it. The concept for the game was unique and I loved the addition of the flavor aspects of every ingredients, that was clever. The gameplay itself was too convoluted for me, it took me some time to understand how to navigate the UI and gameplay and I'm still not sure I got it. If the ingredients could have been placed in the bowl it would have been clearer as the mix/combine button I still don't know what it does. Other than that the game has a lot of potential so I hope you continue working on it!

Also pls drop the name of the artist behind the comic so I can go follow them on some socials C:

Very interesting game. Great intro story and in-game visuals. It would be handy if the flavor chart were accessible during the game. Also, a few hints on what to actually do when the game starts would be helpful. I mean, it’s somewhat obvious, but not overly so. For example, I got an order with chocolate needed:

But there was no chocolate on the table.

the art style is great, love the intro comic and the mob boss with the silhouettes telling me I made the quota. but i'll be honest I did not really understand what was going on I tried matching the recipe and flavor profile but wasn't sure why sometimes I could add something and why sometimes I couldn't. would be great to have some visual tutorial elements as opposed to the text dump at the start.

The comic is great, and I like the models of the game as well!

I ended up not fully understanding what was allowed to be put in and what wasn't. I would click on an ingredient and I couldn't do it that turn, but then another I could. I was also confused by the combine button. I was able to combine randomly one time, but that was it. From what I gathered, I guess that's what you were explaining when certain types of ingredients match, but some that I felt still didn't work :(. For a person like me, I need a more hands on representation of a tutorial (Telling me to do something and as I do it they explain why this works or doesn't work etc).

I thought I was doing okay until the end, when it told me I failed to make quota xD.

The game is cute, and I can see it flourishing in gameplay, it already does personality wise!
