very creative use of the chiptune sound to represent certain aspects of the story!! especially really dig the chromaticism in Un moment d'allégresse and wholesome confusion :)

I like cool 8-bit compositions, so saturated for an old chip, and very unusual for this style of music.

This was a a ton of fun! Personal favorite's gotta be Kesäsota, it feels great as a final climactic story beat and earned from the all the emotional turmoil with all the other tracks on the album. I always find chiptune super cool because it feels like the artist's voice comes through very strong with the limited sonic palette. Being able to do so much with it is really impressive! Awesome stuff :)

Awesome stuff! Personal favorite was Waltz of Dawn. More props for the tracker use, I've recently acquired an M8 and have been learning the tracker workflow through that and it's so cool to see it used in such a quality submission.

Oh yaaa, that's the first 8bit track i've came across and I have no idea with what program you made these but nontheless that does not look easy, I always admire people who make 8bit stuff it feels very limited but still manage to make something extraordinairy, well done !

Thank you! :D I use DefleMask, that's a tracker, not a DAW, and yeah in the beginning, the learning phase can be really alienating!

This is a fun soundtrack! I like the evil carnival vibe of this one with all the chromaticism. You do a good job with dynamic dynamics to make the simple waveforms seem more lively. I would’ve loved to hear more development of the ideas laid out in each track—you do it well in Nulle étoile sans nuit. Nice work!

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CHIPTUNE THIS IS. and how cute the melodies were. waltz of dawn is oddly good. it changes from major to minor. it's messing me brains but i like it. friends of the sea is so cute. everything is cute and wholesome. i love it.

Yeeeeh haha "wholesome" is the "master word" to describe how I wanted my submission to sound, glad it worked ;)
Thank you!

yo hefka, found this to be great compositions all around, my fav is probably the final walz piece. Im not usually a fan of chiptune music, but everything is so well put together i rly enjoyed listening. Great ost!

Very nice chiptune submission! It's always great listening to tracks that work with a limited soundchip cuz it forces people to get creative with their sounds, and this is no exception. Also I really like the amount of effort you put into the project page. It was nice reading through it while listening to your soundtrack.

It's brilliant. I really like the overall vibe created here. The art and music harmonise well with each other.

It definitely worked with the theme. Class work.

Nice chiptune. I'm sure you had fun working around the NES' limitations. I'm not sure what to think about the more dissonant tracks like Lorsque la Nuit Tombera, but I generally had a good time. If you plan doing more chiptune in the future, I recommend looking at adding vibrato on long held notes, it can really make them pop, as well as pitch bending notes up and down to emulate regular instruments like violins. Still, a lot of the songs feel pretty "full", if that makes sense, it can be hard to do that, so good job. I'm a big fan of the NES and the C64 chip myself (Megaman 3's soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, check out the title theme if you haven't already).

My favourite track was probably Kesäsota, it's simple but it works really well, I loved it.

I enjoyed how some of the titles were in french, makes them stand out more than other song titles. I mentioned it on Discord, but I learned french before english so I felt like I understood some kind of secret code lol

Overall, nice job. I'll be sure to check out your other works, I'm curious what your stuff sounds like when you're in your comfort zone haha

Ta musique est phénoménale! Continue sur ce chemin et ne t'arrête pour personne!

Some interesting sounds in this one. It's really cool you stepped out of your comfort zone and tried to do something different - I was expecting more over the top chiptune metal as from what I've heard from you in the past (thought Kesasota wasn't far off from that.) In addition to Kesasota , Waltz of Dawn and Friends of the Sea were both pretty boppin.' Nice work overall!

Wow there is a lot going on here. Between chromatic scales, steep pitch bends, and some areas of notes splintering off and remerging on a shared chord, there is tons of movement in these pieces and all of them are distinct.

The piece Kesasota is the most energetic with some crazy drums in the back.

I enjoyed this more than I assumed I would going in with the knowledge that it was limited to chiptune NES soundcard.

This was very impressive and kept me guessing throughout. Great work!

Chiptune music will never make any sense to me in that you have such a limited amount of resources and were able to make all those sounds. I loved reading through your page and learning about your process, awesome work!

Albeit not reall ymy cup of tea, I liked wholesome confusion Good storytelling as well!

I really enjoy friends from the sea, i was just smiling listening to it haha

I respect anyone that uses the limitations of specific consoles as it is really difficult to work in those confines sometimes.

I liked the songs that sounded like they had little sound effects with the chiptune notes. Specifically interlude 2 was pretty cool.

Some of the songs got a little too discordant for my tastes though. There wasn't really anything super memorable moment for me when listening. It's well made and I liked the Waltz the most because of the funny noises, but the OST just wasn't really my cup of tea.

WOW

I don't feel like I need to say much more. This would be a top-5 soundtrack if it came out in the '80s, and you made it in a week.

Awwwwwh thank you KeyFox6, it means a lot to me!
