Chosen theme: “One Summer”

A summer spent having a Sunday type of love with Nick burned to an end when Sierra realised he was only away for the holidays. Having a deep fear of abandonment, Sierra searches for ways to keep him around for better or worse.

Would be game play: Text story with ability to choose Sierra’s responses to Nick/other character’s, “quests” that result in making Nick more affectionate to her or drift further away from her dependent on how many “love letters” collected during the quest. Brief idea where instead of a “health” bar, it’s Nick with heart eyes at full “health” and a moving van for “death”
Side note: It is up to the player how manipulative Sierra is with her responses

My process:

I will be making a video outlining my process on my tiktok: niddymusic. TLDR; the process was a lot of composing in a way that feels light, airy and hopeful then trying to contrast it with the second track to show that everything isn’t all as it seems.

I tried to use a lot of sampling through my Korg Sample and PO-12 to source drum sounds and give the tracks a lo-fi feel. And I also really experimented with mixing- trying to streamline my workflow to make sure that I completed the jam in time.

How does it fit the theme?
I feel it fits for having a nostalgic feel and having the light and dark of "summer" in it's impermanance
