it was a really fun game to play, I just think that the player sometimes had a really short period to react to the obstacles

I really liked this one. It was fun and I think i could play it a really long time. It was okay that the obstacles will sometimes hit you, so you can get more energy and stuff still sometimes it interrupts the gameplay feeling because of that

The gameplay and controls are very easy to understand. However, I find it difficult to predict how the road and obstacles will approach the player. I think there are either hints in the level about what's coming, or perhaps the camera needs to be adjusted slightly so that you can see more of the road.

But I really like the game :)

i really dont have anything to complain about. i love the idea, i really like the Art of it and i really do enjoy playing this! good job!

Great game! I suck at racing games already so without brakes it's even better. XD Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the game. It feels like the idea and the execution fit really well together. Only complaint I have are the hitboxes, that could be adjusted to fit the border a bit more closely. Also, you chose banger music - rock on!

Very intuitive, after you die in the first round you get the hang of it, at least it was like that for me. It was very fun to play and that you had to collect fuel to keep going does make sense, but is a very cool idea anyways!

It is very funny to only control the Car to the left and right, and the Music Brings a nice flair to it all. the mechanic that you need to pick up new wheels to get faster is good, nice job.

I really like the artwork and the way you can only change the cars direction but not speed as it makes an interesting gameplay. The music also adds to the overall vibe of driving through the desert. The only think I'd like to note is that the camera was a bit too zoomed in to my liking but maybe that was an intentional choice you made to increase difficulty.

A racing game without gas or brakes, what a terrible idea (xD great minds seem to think alike).
Though I must admit your execution is better than ours. The fact that you lose speed when running into things and build it back up with clean driving, and how you use tire health to force a player to get to the next wheel quickly is a great idea.

The art makes gives the game a nostalgic touch, like playing an old flash game, and I rather enjoy the setting, they really built beautiful cars back then. Unfortunately, unless you're playing in full screen, the UI decides it doesn't want to be on the edges anymore, which does retract from the overall polish.

The audio is pretty barebones, and while I do love some good rock, it restarting every time you die and restart does get a little bothersome to me. And with this games difficulty, I would rather listen to my own playlist instead of the same song on repeat while grinding away at the highscore. A mute button or more tracks would have been nice. (this sounded nicer in my head, I hope you don't get the wrong idea here. I do still like the music, it's just a bit repetitive)

Narrative-wise, I've already mentioned how I enjoy what could easily have been a fuel gage be rebranded as tires, since they would get a lot more wear in that terrain and with the relative speeds compared to the fuel tank. The wreckages of cars that didn't make the journey spread about the course is also a nice touch, giving a possible explanation for the tires far off the gas station, but speaking of, I feel like there are a few too many off them. Who would want to work at a gas station in the middle of nowhere? Or are they abandoned? In my opinion there could have been more done with them.

Finally, the enjoyment. Dust Rush probably ranks as my favourite game of the jam. The difficulty makes each completion rewarding and the score keeps you pushing to get faster and faster. Especially the high score being show at all times makes this a good game for competitive players. It feels like an old arcade that you keep revisiting to defend your highscore or try to capture it away from someone else.

Nicely done.

(Edit because I forgot:) a little quality of life addition that I would have liked is to be able to restart using the space key instead of the mouse/trackpad. Having to move your hand away from the simple controls, or having to use your other hand gets tedious on the 500th try. Oh, and I don't really see the point of the quit button in a web only game? There is no main menu to go back to so it just quits the game, which feels odd in a browser.

The background music and art style are quite nice and fit the game's theme.  It's entertaining and a bit challenging.

Minor Issue: Sometimes the fuel spawning location is a bit unpredictable. Maybe some sort of indicator would be practical.

I'm not very good at the game, but it's a lot of fun. And the music goes perfectly with it.

I really enjoyed this one. Staying on the road at that speed was quite a challenge, but finishing the game was incredibly satisfying.

I really like the art style. I also like the beginning of the game. The explanation of the controls and the smooth start.

I just had the feeling that I had very little time to react, which became very frustrating at some point.

Love the game. It looks awesome, and the gameplay feels great. I have nothing negative to say.

I am really bad at this game so i felt very frustrated. But I will give a thumbs up for this game since it is definetely cool! My brain just won't analyze it somehow.

Only main complain is to zoom a bit out the camera,as it doesnt give you enough time to react and avoid obstacles. So it feels like, you drive carefully to avoid obstacles and go faster, but you get punished by not being able to see the obstacles instead of you just not driving well enough. think like Piano Tiles or running games where most of what takes the screen is what's coming next towards you. like instead of the player being in1/2 of the screen, they could be at around 1/3  or 1/4 of it.

The rest is peak, its a really fun idea that jhust holds you to play once again to beat your record.

The artwork is also amazing and love how the different areas transition so well!

This game was really fun to play, the artwork is incredible and the soundtrack is really fitting. I really like the main mechanic. The only thing I suggest you could do change is the field of view of the camera. At times when you are going really fast, it seems almost impossible to react to certain obstacles, meaning it becomes punishing to go as fast as possible.

I had a lot of fun trying to beat my highscore and as everyone else is saying, this game was made to have an endless mode (so make it happen!) :)

I really loved this game. It's a game that you just get hooked on. You always want to beat the high score and be better than the others I compared myself to at the game jam. The artwork is awesome and the music is well chosen. The only problem I have is that you are rewarded for driving badly and slowly, as this allows you to achieve a higher score. As many others have said, including yourselves, the game just cries out for an endless mode with no goal, just a high score and random roads with obstacles. I spent a lot of time playing the game, even when I was testing it again. Great work!

The game is really fun. I also like that you've added objects on the road that slow you down. But I think the road is a little too narrow.

You created a fun little experience that feels pretty complete. You know this already, and we talked about it as well, but this game begs to be an endless runner. Randomize as much of the track as you can, keep the high score system, and done. Great work!
