Theme
How does it fit the theme?
The story of the game is pivoted around a terrible storm during "one summer night," in which takes the form of the text theme. However, the core elements of the story are based on some of the visual components in the picture theme, along with the sound of the music and ambience to fit its aesthetic. Welcome Back Home: This is a beautiful melody. I’m a sucker for piano tracks like this that convey a lot of emotion. To me the melody sounds like it has the structure of a Beatles song, but with a more cinematic accompaniment which makes for a really nice combination!
It’s Engie, not Angie: I really like the old clockwork sound effects - they give this shop theme so much character. The contrast of the fast percussion with the slow waltz piano creates a feeling of calm energy, or maybe this is a representation of being in the zone or in the flow state when you are super focused while working on something you enjoy. In any case, it makes it fun to listen to!
Lamppost: The harmonic progression you use in this track is really interesting, still light-hearted, but slightly warmer/more subdued which nicely accompanies an evening stroll sound. Love the metric modulation to the ¾ time signature - that was a very smooth transition!
Great Hospitality/Blackout: The glockenspiel part, particularly with the delay on it, is my favorite part of this track! The reverse sounds are also a very cool addition. The transition to the darker sound and then back again to the original calmness is a nice arc to the story of this track.
The Power Grid: You did everything that your description says you were intending. The space and the deep bass notes with the constant rain certainly makes this feel ominous and like a pre-climactic/climactic track. My favorite part is the change in feel slightly with the long violin and the piano ostinato at 1:39. This gives a different kind of forward momentum and energy that puts me on the edge of my seat.
I’ll See You Soon: This is so calm and serene. The wave ambience is nice and the guitar seems to swell like the waves too. I at first couldn’t even tell this was a recording, it sounds so good! You do a good job with poignant emotions and I think bittersweet is a perfect word for describing this track. It feels like Engie both lost something and gained something.
Overall: I think your full soundtrack nails the theme as there are summer, water, electrical, and night time elements to the music, and it creates a story with excellent gameplay mechanics. The highlights for me were the ways that you described very specific emotions through your music and the flow of your music tracks. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Ambient tracks for the most part, but not a bad thing if that's the strong inclination of the story concept.
And i noticed on the one suspenseful track that you were capable of going quite beyond the ambience sphere so good going there.

A surprisingly complex soundtrack which invokes a wide range of emotions. I'm impressed with how much you were able to fit in only six tracks. I loved how you mixed so many textures and instruments together without muddling the character of each one. I look forward to your future compositions!

What a fascinating crossover between chill vibes, electronic goodness and drums that absolutely bang. The SFX as instrumentation works really well too. Nice work!
This is by far one of the most well executed entries of the jam OMFG this is flawless.The end of Blackout was outstanding, but to be honest every track is executed perfectly I have literally no comments to made, such an amazing OST!!

wow. what a beautiful ambience this submission one. i can feel and visualize the lively town she resides at. lamppost is my favourite, me thinks. the way the percussion it has just tickles my brain just right. awseome work.
Really nice piano melodies all over this. Loved the amount of effort put into the backstory of each track and the overall project itself. Musical highlights for me are the use of guitar for percussion on Welcome Back Home, the drums kicking in on It's Engie, Not Angie and the beat switchup in Lamppost
Really loved the jazzy elements in this. The piano melodies are really beautiful, and the tracks complement each other well while capturing different moods. I can picture it playing in a game easily!
Loved this soundtrack! The mechanical elements and piano really tie everything together, and the atmosphere across all the tracks is super immersive. Lamppost and The Power Grid stood out to me, especially for how the tension builds. Outstanding work! :)
Real good stuff here! What a diverse sound, and your mixes of real SFX integrated within the soundtrack is really masterful, the mixes are great too!
A very diverse and quite large soundtrack, there is a record for all occasions of the game. My favorites here are Lamppost because of the beautiful piano arpeggios (if that's what they are) and The Power Grid track for the rather dark atmosphere in it. I love that.
I really enjoyed the light ambience of the opener and how the instruments layered and evolved.
This was a delightful listen overall, so much detail! I'm a sucker for piano driven OSTs.

I loved the detailed description of each song not only with the story but with the orchestration too! It makes everything more engaging to listen to IMO.
I think the first half of the OST was stronger overall for me because I liked those songs more. the ones that felt like normal gameplay sections with the mechanical sounds.
This make a really good ambiance music with a good cohesion averall !
Excellent quality and composition. I love the idea behind the mechanical and electrical bits in the music, it works really well here. The soundtrack does a great job with keeping things light and airy early on, slowly leading into the feelings of stress that Engie is feeling around her father and the power. The pay-off for this in "The Power Grid" is top notch -- I mean, (if it were me) the crescendo of this song would have been the PERFECT time to bring in some killer drums and electric guitar to really nail things down, but I forgive you for not being me ahaha.
If I had one ACTUAL critique, part of me feels like "I'll See You Soon" could have benefited from some more instruments. I can respect the decision to leave things with just the guitar, but even a little piano accompaniment or something else simple would have helped deliver a little more emotion into the ending.
Either way - a complete, cohesive soundtrack with a compelling narrative and excellent music. A+ entry, great job!

Really enjoyed this album. The machinery as percussive elements fits very well and all of the layers come together beautifully. While I was listening, I kept thinking "this one is my favorite one on the album" only for the next one to be even better. Fantastic work overall!
