This is a very well designed trick-taking game! There are a lot of choices that matter and the player is rewarded for thinking ahead. It feels like I should probably be able to mix two mono-suit cards if they both match my current pair? Otherwise very clean.
I also like the monster mechanics. Bidding to win favorable effects adds an extra dimension above and beyond just trying to win tricks. I also liked the idea of wagering monsters, but I don't think any of my accepted wagers actually went through one way or the other.
On overall vibe, the character art was great, the cards looked great, and the various little monsters all had their own identity. Things did feel a little quiet. Probably could use some background music of some sort. I think it would also help the flow of the game to speed up the NPCs decisions.
Very fun on the whole! I stuck around to the end of the game and I was able to pull out the victory. The guy that turns $50 into trick wins was the hands-down VIP.
