Description
Tracks made with FL Studio

An OST for a story-driven puzzle game

One summer night, the world quietly broke apart. Fragments are scattered throughout. Reality has fractured and the player must reassemble the world piece by piece.

Track 1 - First Encounter
The world, once calm, now disturbed by an unnatural pulse. In the distance a fracture hums. It calls to you. As you step closer the fracture begins to distort.

Track 2 - Garden
The fracture swallows everything in sight. When you awaken, you find yourself in a garden of blooming flowers. Hidden in the garden lie shattered fragments. To leave, you must find and collect them

Track 3 - Race Against Time
The garden begins to collapse. Cracks ripple through the sky like shattered glass. The world is unstable; it was never meant to last. The longer you stay the more the world forgets how to hold itself together.

Track 4 - Piece by Piece
One by one the shattered fragments are gathered. As you put it together it begins to distort, it is no longer violent but bright and beautiful. A ripple unfolds, reshaping everything it touches. The world begins to reconstruct itself.

Theme

One Summer Night
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I thought "One summer night" would be perfect for a game that has time constraints. So, I wanted to add a sense of urgency and tension to some of the tracks. I also wanted to pair it up with the picture theme, which gives off a peaceful, calm kind of vibe. So, I tried to add things like ambient textures and soft piano.

Super nice entry, sounds very professional. I especially liked First Encounter and Piece by Piece

Piece By Piece I was expecting to be a slower song so I was pleasantly surprised by the intense percussion section pulling everything forwards at an exciting pace!

That one was my favorite by far because of the percussion it was really good!

i can't believe i didn't find this sooner oh my goodness, this is so beautiful... i just love how each track seems to have its own vibes yet they all come together so masterfully!! the last track honestly caught me off guard from the tonal change but it's SO MUCH COOLER than what i initially expected coming into this ost with the shift back to orchestra after starting off with so much tension

you should be so proud of what you made!!!!! keep cooking 🔥🔥🔥

Your work is amazing! Really beautiful compositions. Very orchestral, but at the same time maintain a very clear identity. You achieved a great sound and awesome arrangements too! I also think the music connects really well with the game concept you described. Fantastic job!

Really beautiful orchestral soundtrack! Seriously impressive that you could make such detailed compositions in such a short period of time

THIS WAS SUCH A PLEASANT SURPRISE! The way the violins were used added so much to each piece. The storytelling was also really good and cohesive. Piece by Piece was such a banger as well! The mixing was also really well thought out; everything had its own space to do its thing. Incredible job!

First encounter - Nice work, kinda feels like it belongs in a bond film!

Garden - Very nice solo violin, very Christopher Larkin!

Race against time - very emotive composing, would love to know what strings you're using!

Piece by piece - fantastic scoring and mixing, no notes lol

Very well done, and thanks for checking out mine too!

Wow, excellent work. Like, chills dude

At every turn my ears were graced with new and exciting sounds, textures, tension, and resolution.

The production quality was damn near perfect throughout, and the progression and melodies left me in awe.

I think my favorite was Race against Time - I'm a huge fan of normal, everyday rhythmic sounds being incorporated into music and with your theme of time pressure this was the group of piece's centerpiece for me.

Loved listening, thank you for your submission!

Crazy to see you here, I'm huge a fan of your work that I've seen on TikTok! Race against time is my favorite, the string work is so good! You're a big inspiration, and you did not disappoint. Much luck to you 🐦‍⬛

Overwhelmingly this is the kind of soundtrack that doesn't necessarily tie itself to the concept of a summer night; the connection to the theme is through the text you tell in the story (I don't sense it in the music).

First Encounter is a really cinematic track and breathtakingly beautiful. The impact that I'm getting from it, though, when it starts, is not "the world is fractured," but "look at the vast expanse that we're flying away from as we're soaring into space" -- a beautiful feeling, to be sure, because those strings and ambiences certainly convey that feeling really well. It feels too... cohesive to be fractured if you get my drift?

Garden conveys that feeling of fracture very well. From the very intro it hits hard, and hits home, what the situation is. It feels like a place of refuge, and also a place of sorrow all at once. It has a very Shadow Hearts feel -- I say this with very fond memories of playing Shadow Hearts back in the day.

Race Against Time has some beautiful spicc strings and percussion that give it an otherworldly, Alice in Wonderland type of feel to begin with, before it gets heavier on the bass, and more legato, and the gravity of the situation really sets in. This, and Garden, are your stronger tracks IMO.

Piece by Piece is a funny one. What I mean by that is, you say it no longer is violent, but rather bright and beautiful, but it still undergoes some distortion and you do convey that through the bass. The bass still has a violence of its own that I'm not sure conveys the feeling of "look how wonderful it is that things are being put together" -- I get that in glimpses, rather than an overarching picture that just floods my mind.

It's otherwise very cohesive instrumentally, very well produced, and a good storytelling attempt. Well done, and all the best for this jam!
