Description
Electronic music inspired by chill vibes OSTs like Animal Crossing, FEZ, Dustforce. Used Garageband and Reaper for the music, made the art in Procreate, and visualizer in Godot.
Message from the artist
I wanted to represent the passing of the evening with the songs, mainly taking from Animal Crossing's OST changing hourly. My game would take place over the course of a single summer night.
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
The music represents the passage of One Summer Night taking place and the vibes of each time period. Picture theme was used mostly as a color palette and vibe check.

this was cool! Very solid mix and storytelling! In One Summer Night Over Time 2, I might like to see a wider variety (which I also understand as being part of the time loop theme) of key centers and harmonic content, but the progression and key you did have was great! Well done!
Really cool sounds!! I loved the way you kept up the motif throughout all the songs. That being said, I do think you were lacking a bit in the higher registers. Maybe some bells or a glockenspiel or something could have added some nice higher register depth. Also, the times you did have some stuff going on in the higher register, like the hi hats in the third song, they were way too loud and piercing. High register sounds can pierce through while being played fairly quietly, so I would suggest taking that into consideration next time. Great job though, it was a really unique journey through the night!
Oh, a dynamic music! That was ambitious!
This soundtrack was awesome! I liked Midnight and Dawn the most. Great job :)
Nice vibe, and I really like the way you blend the synths between tracks. The track names are super cool too.
Really cool synths, and the leitmotifs were nice!
Good work!!
I had a slight issue with little clicks and pops but I don't know if that was a me thing! I think Godot is funny with my computer.
I really liked the idea behind this and the work that you've produced. I can imagine the soundtrack working really well with the concept. I enjoyed the vibe it created and the ambience was working really well.
One thing I would say is that if you wanted to make the soundtrack work for long periods of time, you may need to reduce some frequencies in the high mids / mids as they can be a bit overwhelming. But again, that's being nit-picky. It's a great project.
Solid project :)
Love the synths you picked out for this! At times though I feel like there’s a lot happening for long periods of time that doesn’t give me the calm feeling I thought of when I initially thought of night. BUT then again the context of the game might call for something less calm, and then I could absolutely see it working.
Dawn is definitely my favourite, I think in part because it feels very right to have a lot happening as the sun comes up. I especially love when the main motif comes in later, it gives me the feeling of reminiscing on a very eventful night, a feeling of bittersweetness. It also has a dark edge to it at times with some dissonance which hooks my curiosity for what it could represent in the game.
Really loved the synths and textures you used in these tracks, they create a very atmospheric sound!
Like some of the other commenters said, it'd be nice to have some sort of story to accompany the tracks. I think that would make it easier to picture game scenes while listening to the music.
But that didn't stop me from enjoying your submission, good work!
Loved the chill vibes and how each track flows into the next, really captures the feeling of a summer night. The recurring motifs tie everything together nicely, though a bit more variety in timbre or movement could make it even more engaging. Overall, a smooth and immersive soundtrack. :)
An interesting soundtrack, it interacts so coolly with each other, turns into one another, all compositions are mutual and convey a common atmosphere and motifs.
Very cool presentation! I’m left an impression that you could go further to differentiate.
I had the same feeling when I wanted to dive into trying to do two tracks in the same mood - I had so much cool stuff and I needed to decide what to transfer as a common thread and what to cut out.
Leap further I say!
The presentation is cool but it was hard to tell when a song ended or if it was just gonna keep looping.
The songs all share a very similar structure making it feel like a single evolving track which is cool but it can also get a little repetitive after a while.
Nice textures all around. Appreciated the re-occuring motif, but would have loved to see some more movement or change throughout as thing tend to get a repetitive. Chill vibes regardless though, nice work!
Nice vibes overall, I like the idea of the music changing depending on the hour. The timbre could change a bit more and have more surprises, it could be quickly repetitive during long session of the same track. And I'm curious about the universe and the context of the game, because it's a night environment but the music sounds epic and even a bit dramatic as if something important and global was happening, I would like to know more about what you had in mind :)
Really nice how you tied every track together. I would have liked however a little bit more variety in the timbre you used and how you treated the motif that kept recurring. Solid vibes throughout tho!
