Great game!! Absolutely insane that you did this with the super limited amount of time you had. I really enjoyed the maze-like aspect of the game. I think it'd also be funny if we could push stuff in front of the robo-dogs to trip them or block them haha, but that's probably out of scope. I did run into a bug where I started being able to run through all the bushes/fences/etc but then I couldn't return home! Overall, really awesome work!

I do want some kind of "turnabout" on the robo-dogs ... like the power pellets in PacMan, I was thinking dog toys, a ball, frisbee, stuffed animal or the like.  Thanks for playing!

I really like the game. The visuals look great. And I hope Cooper is happy ^^

Developer

I'm sure he is!  Thanks for playing!

Saw in the description that you only started working on this past the half-way point, and this is an insane amount of work for the time you had. Great job!

I have to give credit where credit is due -- Synty assets really helped as a baseline, and our (2D) Artist and designer @jackdrawsgames did a great job on the maze components, allowing me time to work on the code!  Thanks for the play and review!

The controls are solid and the models are nice. It took me way too long to realize that there was some sort of threat in the maze. Also, it seems that the reward for winning is immediately doing it again?
Nice concept, good work!

Developer

The polished version is a little more dangerous (as well as having some sound and a bunch of bug fixes).  it's not done, but it's getting there!  thanks for the review!

Good game, Had fun, Hate that sometimes the dogs are crazy hard to pass, Nice!

Developer

the 'polished' version has many improvements -- though the robot dogs are still pretty stupid.  The mazes start smaller and grow as you finish levels.

Good game, great idea. I did lose the dog behind the fence at the bottom at times. A great submission I hope you do well in the ratings :)

Developer

good catch!  we’ve adjusted the camera a bit in the non-jam version.

thanks for playing!

This is a really well built-game with great choice of assets! I did find a bug however, when I played, the chaser dog was locked outside of the fence so there was no "risk" unfortunately. But definitely a great submission!

Developer

yeah..  there's a bug in the placement of the enemy dogs (And with the AI of the enemies in general) that ended up in the final jam build.  I've since updated a lot of things, and it's much more playable and polished ... I'll be putting up windows/linux/macos builds soon.

Thanks for the review!

Fun gameplay and a visual *treat*. Love to see a simple concept executed well. Love the art! Did find a bug where one of the dogs were stuck pass the bottom fences for the second level. Maybe this game can be a bit more challenging for later levels?

Developer(+1)

One place that needs a bit of work is the robo-dog AI :-)  There will be a new release on the itch page soon.

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the review!

Great game! I just wish I could ramp up the difficulty right from the start instead of having to wait.

Hello, I played your game for 7 minutes - that is how long I needed to collect all bb's (biscuit bones) ;))

For a game made in 2 days I think it is great. I enjoyed the visuals and the audio was obviously inspired by “4′33″” by John Cage. Joke by side, congrats for making such a game in such a short amount of time!

Developer

thank you for your kind words!  The level in the Jam version of the game is a bit large -- it's actually meant to be a later level.  The first level is supposed to be 8x8, and gets much trickier if you want a high score!  (The version on my current build adds music and some SFX ... look for it on the itchio page :-)

Really cool game.  Love the art.  Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and rating!

Loved how you balanced a calm aesthetic of suburbia and the fear of getting caught by the guard dogs.

Developer

ooh.  you make it sound like a David Lynch film :-)

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

I see that. You should lean into that and add a night level with owls with a new mechanic of some sort...

The owls are not what they seem

Have so much fun playing it,art is great!
but at the end of some level I've get stucked in textures and couldn't get back to my home

Developer

yeah, I've noticed that a few times -- there's at least one squeezy-bit around the dog house which pushes the character down a bit ... the good news is you can run through walls, the bad news is, you can't get home again!

Thanks for playing and rating!

Really enjoyed how the maze is built up of actual props and some have enough space to walk over

Developer

thanks for the comment!  that was our artist's idea :-)

Good luck in the game jam! I like the visuals

Nice graphics, responsive controls
Level's too huge :(

Developer

thanks for the comment! I agree with you -- the original idea was that the first level would be smaller, and the levels would increase in size up to the 16x16 that made it into the jam.

Really nice little game, give of the vibe of a "Pacman with physics"
Having more robots dogs with differents AI would have give a lot to the game, like in the original Pacman, Blinky actively chase the player wherever he is on the map, or Pinky and Inky, try to place themself in front of the player.
I also probably don't understand correctly what's the point of returning to your home to increase the multiplier ? As it does not scale with the biscuit you bring back, and when you finish a level, it does not increase it ?
Anyways, really nice game, it was fun to play it ! Continue to creates game like this one ;)

Developer

"Pacman with physics" was pretty close to the originating idea!  Currently, the robot dogs have no AI to speak of, they just pick a random spot near them, and go there.  They will eventually have better AI and possibly personalities!

Super fun ! I really like the idea and the level design <3

Thanks! Glad you liked it!
