Description
Can you tell I've been playing Nine Sols recently, haha ? I imagine these would go well in a pixel art action rpg, with subtle metroidvania elements and starring a feisty cat warrior.

As for the genre, I took inspo from Ryuichi Sakamoto's collab with Alva Noto, introduced sound design tricks here and there and wanted to end the whole thing with a nice Jungle break.

Both tracks were made on Ableton Live 11. The piano preset on "Colors" is from Arturia's Analog Lab V (American Home Grand); on "Heartbeat": Spitfire's Upright Piano Pack. Both piano tracks were recorded live with little to no midi meddling.

Most pads are from the FxPansion Cypher2 FM soft synthesizer.

I let the atmosphere of the picture wash over me and saw what could come out of it.

Amazing work on the textures throughout the songs ! I and really liked the contrast between the beat and the free piano lines coming kind of outside of the tempo grid. Nice effect :)

The piano was good, but then everything was happening around it and it became great

I especially like when it started to kick up on the second track, quite unexpected

I really like the tracks you made and the visuals in the video add a nice touch to the overall mood you are trying to portray in the music! I could see this fitting nicely in a game! Keep up the good work!

This music is awesome in every sense of the word, COLORS has this quiet feeling of grandness and adventure with a great composition and both songs put soft and subtle textures to great use. That drum pattern in HEARTBEAT is full of funk and groove, had me bopping my head the whole time. The ambiance is off the charts and I really like this music, which is why it hurts so much more to see the use of AI for the cover art!!! This music has so much charm and personality to it, but my immediate impression of AI art covers is that the artist just doesn't care about what they're presenting. It's like having a beautiful, delicious wagyu steak but it's served on a factory made concrete slab with 3d printed cutlery. The steak is delicious!!! But... it raises some questions about the establishment. I try not to let any of this impact judging, I just really would implore you to reconsider AI stuff.

Thanks for your review Mice !

Yeah, they're (AI creations) generally a hit or miss, you'll love em or hate em, haha. Know that it's a tool that I genuinely enjoy using, I'd direct you to some fully generated clip I made here and there, or any short film made by Aze Alter for that matter. In the case of these clips there is about a week or two of storyboarding, a week of prompting and the edit takes forever, lol.

For Colors & Heartbeat I had to find a proper animation framerate and way to make it loop nicely on DaVinci Resolve.

That's what I love, ambient with a cool sound design and a touch of idm.

Beautiful piano ambience here. The tiny, almost background presence of synth sounds is an interesting design choice in "COLORS" and gives a nice bit of flavor to the piece. The sparkling-type effect in "HEARTBEAT"serves a similar purpose. I appreciated the pickup around 3:00 in chapter 2; it provided some much needed energy and kept things moving in a nice way.

Solid submission overall, nice work!

The delicate piano and ethereal synths of Colors lure in the listener. You do a great job of creating an otherworldly atmosphere with the combination of the light rhythmic textures and the mode you use in the melodic material. I enjoyed the contrast of a more prominent beat in Heartbeat, while you still maintain that entrancing glimmer.

shimmering and groovy. breaking through with the drum work near the end really elevated the whole thing. there's a ton of detail here, and the mixing is really solid. favorite: heartbeat. thanks for sharing :)

Colors: I think Colors is such an appropriate title for this piece of music. The beautiful piano work you do is consistently very evocative and colorful! This is extremely impressive that this was mostly recorded live! That kind of talent is very impressive. The subtle flute and ticking sound effects add character to the location and feel like maybe they represent the lights in the image or maybe some small animals or crystals nearby.

Heartbeat: This one is quite ethereal. I think your intuition with the bass and drum beat was quite creative and added some energy that fit quite nicely right at the perfect spot. I feel rejuvenated after listening to these tracks. Thank you for the experience and thank you for sharing!

Love the sound of the wind instrument alongside the piano in COLORS and when HEARTBEAT really picked up towards the middle. Nice soundtrack :)

Nice production! I can definitely hear the Nine Sols inspiration + I'm a Ryuichi Sakamoto fan so I'll have to check that collab out. Overall I really like the atmosphere of your tracks and the piano playing is quite nice.

wow. both songs are absolutely gorgeous and have stellar production

i also love that switch up in HEARTBEAT alongside the pretty instumentation

only thing i didn't like was the ai cover art... shame on you!!!

The music is very pretty and I like the way the sound design works with it.

The percussion coming in during the second track was huge for retention as it added so much to the variety of the OST.

AI art is a real shame though...

I loved how you incorporated acoustic and electronic elements into your music!! Both track were really beautiful.

Great work! I really like how the music could fit perfectly in certain scenarios of an RPG or a metroidvania like the one you describe, but at the same time it doesn’t lose the essence of what the picture conveys — mainly the idea of contemplation and reflection. Really nice tracks. The piano performance was on point.

ONE SUMMER NIGHT is absolutely beautiful! The music is evolving and stays relaxed at the same time. I love that. Great use of pads.

The second track reminded me of the Outer Wilds soundtrack in some places. Very meditative and lonely feel. Good work!

This is such an incredible vibe! Love the feel of the drums in the second track.
