This is FIRE.
It's super creative as well.
I really like this.
Absolutely fantastic work. There were just so many moments that just took me to another realm.
Despite the focus on being orchestral, the strange analogue like sound effects really help in building a unique atmosphere and make this soundtrack stand out! My interpretation of the tracks was also pretty close to what you intended for them, so that was nice. A few of tracks felt a bit simillar-ish but it also makes the listening experience more consistent so it's fine. Light Up was my favorite, I love the drum loop used and the progression of the song.
Overall good job!
thank you for rating
Like the dreamy texture of everything. The woozy tempo fluctuations, the unexpected flurries of activity. Really fun listen!
Thank you for revieving . Glad to hear you enjoyed listening to the ost :]
The arpeggiated chords of the warped tape piano combined with the undulating pad that I cannot quite define are mesmerizing. I like how your stirring melody floats effortlessly above the flurry of texture. I love those little bursts of waterphone-esque overtones.
In Streetlamp Sabotator, I imagine a character who is meticulously and desperately attempting to arrange precise moments in an alternate timeline in order to prevent some catastrophic event from occurring. Time is running out… and boom! You really ramp up the intensity at 1.25. What a moment!
I love those alien transmissions intervening, as if we are switching to another timeline or parallel dimension where we get to experience the same subject from a seemingly impossible point of view. Maybe we are watching our future or past selves, or some event that we keep coming back to but as different character.
Those tempo fluctuations feel like someone/something is manipulating time and space, so good.
I feel like we return to the lighthouse in Morning. Did we accomplish the mission, or are we doomed to repeat the cycle again?
Your composition and production skills are excellent. I love how you put this project together. I love the abrupt shifts in texture and dynamics, so effective. Your soundtrack kicked my imagination into overdrive!
Thank you for reviveing. This is souch a nice interpretation of the textures i haven't even considered.
Lighthouse: I haven’t read the description at the time that I’m writing this. I immediately imagine the scene in the theme image where the sun dips below the horizon and the lanterns turn on with the electric buzz. The girl in the image starts facing the water, but with the accelerating piano rolls, she turns and heads up to the old lighthouse from which the theme “picture” was taken. The complex emotions that ensure represent what the girl is feeling as she slowly climbs the long spiral staircase to the top of the lighthouse. The percussionless portion at the end is her at the top of the lighthouse overlooking the sea. But then something happens and the electricity maybe fails or something but the light turns off for some reason.
Streetlamp Sabotage: This track seems to accompany the scattered flurry of people trying to identify the issue leading to the main conflict. Wow the high energy drum portion certainly adds an extra layer of urgency to things. Maybe at this point, a large electrical burst/explosion/bolt occurs throwing everything into even more chaos.
Alternating Current: The fact that this one starts with the similar accelerando and similar chords makes me think this theme represents the main character and her own emotional story as the harbor city needs to be rescued. I imagine that maybe she had to dive under the water of the ocean to escape the electrical chaos and fires that are taking place on land currently.
Light Up: While underwater, maybe she finds a tunnel leading to the underground generator and this is the track where she figures out what caused everything to go wrong. It feels somber and somewhat unsteady like she has been weakened. The change in momentum halfway through shows that she still has determination enough to continue forward! Then the click ambience is her figuring out the issue so that things can return to normal and the lights of the city can revitalize the night of the city.
Morning: A soft reflective track that finds the main character back on the dock overlooking the water in the morning. The lanterns are once again on, but the bittersweet nature of this track makes it seem like much was lost in the conflict and though things have returned to the way they were, her life will be forever changed because of it.
Overall: I had a lot of fun imagining the story based solely off of your musical journey - thank you for the invitation to try this. This is a beautiful ambient electronic soundtrack that conveys many emotions through instrument layers, rhythms, and tempo changes. Now that I’ve read the description, I think you nailed the idea that the main character’s theme is carried through each track to show that she feels a responsibility to helping the town restore light. I think that your chase sequence sounded like a higher stress environment to me which is why I imagined explosions, but you were very accurately able to convey tension and release throughout. This was a very nice entry - great work and thank you for sharing!
thank you for trying out the ost blind. Absoutley flatered by the story interpretation and the efort put into the description. Thank you for reviveving!!!
This is so underrated. I love the mellow and soft composition style you have, it's really good like it sounds so lonely. The sudden change at "Lighthouse" was so cool, I reaaally love the ambience this could be one of the best atmospheres I've heard so far. "Streetlamp Sabotage" is a real highlight for me, first the melody that slowly changes texture, then the breakcore!!! When I heard the glitchy pad I thought "wait will this be breakcore?" and it was. I really like the distant tempo-changing drums at "Alternating Current", such a nice touch. Overall this was VERY good holy banger.
Thanks for rating. Love to hear you enjoyed listening to it as mutch as I enjoyed creating it :]
I'll pertake on your small game and try the ost blind, with thought :
Lighthouse : A pretty ambiant summer night with the focus on the electricty buzzing sound of a light, some strings to evoque the sea maybe ? Really chill, really "night", really "summer". Love the slow start and slowing transition at the middle, the mix is really well made, everything is hearable yet voluntarily distant.
Streetlamp sabotage : Really close in tone to the first one, so that's nice : a little more on the action tho, with the arpegio carrying dynamics : some really good tension with the filter opening up on the arpegio, while strings support the upcoming of the really rythmic rhody synth. Incredible transition toward a SUPERBE drop ! Overall, an incredible transition from the chill buzzing summer lightouse toward a more action packed sequence.
Alterning current : Pretty much the same chord progression than the two before, I see a pattern. When sabotage empahsized the rythm and the action, this one seems to carry more of a dreadfull feeling ? Something feels wrong, probably because everything is REALLY far from your ears, wobbly, unstable, textured like some old tape.
Light up : Brought back the energy, the rythm ! All of that in a really organic way, this OST is quite the journey ! Thoses sounds are all familiar, we know them from the three precedents pieces, yet we rediscover them as playfull, motivating, like they were so long ago in streetlamp sabotage.
Morning : Welp, the sea inspiration on this one is pretty clear. Textures are amazing, way "brighter" than they were in the night yet really familiar. Incredbile mix work, it's the first OST I see this jam that use the mix as a way to really convey a feeling.
Thank you really much for the reviev. All the feedback is apritiated. Hope you enjoyed the ost and once again thx for revieving
Super cool album, I like the mix between the serene ambient vibe and some agressive switch in music I was pleaseantly surprised by it, very nice arrangement and textures that you crafted. Very nice, well done !
Very acoustically colorful and texture-rich OST here! I loved the piano used and the ambient sound of the lamp buzzing really gave the soundtrack an extra layer of summer warmth that multiplied the atmosphere by a ton! Definitely captured that summer feeling! Great work!
I've watched a few Therm videos. I know he also composes music but I watched the backyard baseball videos cause they are hilarious. I've thought about doing more styles of content to broaden my audience like he has.
I've been playing a bit of Blue Prince recently and the chord instrument reminded me of that game.
Omg a fellow therm enjoyer. I realy recomend you check out "Places in videogames" its a reali good album ;]
Nice work, I liked " Streatlamp Sabotator" the most! You've produced a great video game OST :)
Unfortunately I read the context before listening but I can say that all of the tracks definitely fit! I really like the collection of sounds you used - they feel very warm, which obv fits with the summer theme. I also love the drums in track 2! Nice job!
Thanks for rating. The sound chise was a hard thing but love to hear it worked out in the end.
W/o Context: LOVEEED the piano used here. The breakbeat's tone also feels good and balanced when it comes in. The simpler parts would support puzzle-solving gameplay well. I kind of wish I could hear more forefront melody lines aside from arpeggios. However, if you made that decision to keep the songs non-intrusive, then it's a solid choice. Curious what the heavier sections are for, though.
W/ Context: Ah, so there are chase sequences! The story has a nice setup.
The syncopation in Streetlamp Sabotage was breathtaking.
THANK YOU !!! I really apricite the time you took to follow the instructions :D Hope you enjoyed listening to it.
Really good one !
The soundtrack has an its own univers and the storytelling is also really good as well as the sound design.
Perhaps the only comment I could make is that the theme doesn't really have a "summer" feel, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very good soundtrack.
Special mention to Light Up, the best in my opinion.
Thank you for rating the project :] love to see you enjoyed it. Well yea i dont realy know what summer sounds like.
