How does the game fit the theme?
In Kero Kata, players control frogs hopping across a tile-based floor, collecting eggs and racing back to their nest. The game plays like Onitama, with each frog's movement determined by a shared deck of cards. The player can risk it by collecting more eggs at once or drawing cards that might give an advantage or disadvantage.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Interesting relaxing game. Love visual and audio
Super fun and a great twist on Onitama! And it has FROGS :)
All hail the frogs xD
5/5 in all categories, really fun, great game in general! able to be expanded into a full game as well
Thank you so much!! We'll for sure consider it C:
I loved the presentation on this so much! The ambient sfx really added to the vibe. It was so comfy! Very good job and very well-polished
This is really polished and well executed. I did not understand it at first (only the chess mechanic), but finally understood the collecting the egg mechanic after almost loosing. Good job, all of you!
Really nice and relaxing game!
Very interesting chess-like mechanic with moves dictated by the cards in hand. I really enjoyed the art, music, and overall peaceful setting of the game! Great job!
This is a really great concept for a game! It plays on the theme well and leaves a lot of room for thinking ahead to make your future turns go well. Not to mention the aesthetics are quite beautiful and very relaxing. Great work!
I'm not sure if there's a way to switch out any of the cards from the deck, but that could possibly be a good mechanic to implement if not. I think I got stuck with cards that made it quite time consuming just to get the frog back to the lily pad to score, which got a bit frustrating. I recognize that some of the challenge and strategy is born from having to plan out how to get the frog back to the lily pad, though, so it may also not be the best solution.
Hi! Thanks for the in depth review! So as of now the idea is to try and make the best out of the cards you get even if in some cases the combos are not the most ideal (The game draws 5 cards from a pool of 16 so it adds a replayibility factor). If we decide to continue on the game, we'll consider some mechanics connected to the movement cards! Thanks again C:
Really good use of the theme and the game is easy to understand without a tutorial.
Very well polished game with a lot of clever mechanics that allow for a lot of skill expression. I barely beat it 5 to 4 on the first try but obliterated the AI 5 to 1 the next time! The art looks cute and the frog portraits somewhat reminds me of Frog Island. Did you watch the devlogs or is that a coincidence? Great job overall!
Thanks for the feedback, happy you liked it and defeated the EVIL AI xD Frog Island was actually one of the inspirations when I was designing the look for the game! I didn't know there were devlogs to watch tho! I'll definetely go do that now C:
EDIT - I thought you meant Time on Frog Island, but what you mentioned is another game which now I'll have to go play lol
Really good work. Its great to come up with different strategies. Hope you expend on this in the future!
This is a fun strategy game good job on the game!
It's a beautiful game with a lot of detail and well-polished gameplay! Definitely calls for some sort of multiplayer mode, but it's fun even against computer, and has a lot of replayability. A fullscreen option would be nice to appreciate all the detail, but I haven't played in chrome, so maybe i missed something.
Congrats on a great game!
Thank you so much! We will keep in mind adding multiplayer if we ever continue it (lowkey so us developers can play it together maybe xD)
Very polished game with amazing audio and visual. The vibes are great too. Amazing entry.
Cool game! I liked the visuals and the audio, the gameplay was also interesting :)
Wow very nice and polished game. The only thing that I can criticize was that it was a bit confusing at first figuring out how the game worked but once I understood it it was a lot of fun to play. Cool game!
I think you guys have something really amazing here, the amount of creativity is astounding, and the visuals are amazing!! I think this has a serious shot at winning the whole thing, the amount of thought and polish that went into this is crazy.
You all are seriously talented people, fantastic job!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words!
This is incredible just as a game, removed from the context of a jam.
The fact that it was made in a week is mindblowing.
My only criticism is that the egg spawning seemed like it could occasionally be a bit unfair, to the point where an entire game can be decided by where the second round of eggs spawn in a worst case scenario (which unfortunately happened to me).
Also a two player mode would be really nice, though it's understandable that would be out of the scope of a game jam.
Thank you so much for the feedbacks! We originally wanted to make the game co-op but considering it's an online jam we thought it'd be easier for people to play the game if it was PvC (which also meant coding a whole AI system, all hail the programmer xD). We will keep in mind the possibility of local or online co-op if we ever decide to continue it. C:
That makes sense. It wasn't really a big issue though since the cpu is so perfectly balanced between being genuinely competent and being fair to the player. I have no idea how you pulled that off.
Looking forward to future updates (if you decide to continue, no pressure of course)!
I might actually be a little mad if this doesn't win the jam lol.
Great little card game!
Sheesh! Such a polished game. I loved the vibe, and the gameplay was interesting. The AI was well done as well. The theme is also incorporated in a nice way.
