Description
“Hey, remember that one summer night where you got abducted by aliens?” Recall that night of intrigue, suspense, and wacky escape sequences through the OST! The theoretical game is a roguelite-esque survival game where, after a calm provocative night at the docks, you’ve suddenly been abducted by aliens, and must run as far as possible, collect equipment, and escape the aliens via a vessel back to Earth. Every time you get caught, you figure out more of the layout, gain access to new equipment, and more. Will you be able to escape? Heck if I know!
When coming up with ideas, everything I came up with felt a bit… bland. All my ideas used the vibes given off from the theme but didn’t really expand on them. So I thought to myself, what if I took the theme, and subverted it in a nonsensical way? And so, here we are! I composed this OST in Beepbox, because it’s simplistic and it’s the DAW I feel most comfortable with (I’ll find something new eventually!). The first song and the main leitmotif I composed in the first couple days, while the rest I composed in slightly over a day because I have time management problems! :)
Sitting at the Docks
Relaxed by the docks, pondering life. You look up to the sky and see shooting stars. …those are stars… aren’t they?
Above you, a strange object appears, extraordinarily large, interrupting all thoughts in your mind. The last thing you saw then was a brilliant green beam of light pulling you in.
Welcome to Prison!
You awake, bars of steel blocking your view. You’re in a cramped room. A prison cell. The aliens must’ve captured you…
Uh, rude…
Escape!!
You’ve prepared, readied your toolset, now it’s time to escape! Alien guards are swarming behind you, chasing you. But you can’t let them catch you now!
Well that sure was something
Well, you made it out. Found the last vessel back to Earth. All that’s left to do is ponder… That was one heck of a night.

The story has a very fun concept and I can feel the vibe through the music. The prison theme has a sad but very relaxing and hopeful tone to it. I would love to see the chords and the lead to maybe be tweaked a little so we can feel that vibe a little more. I love Escape and That sure was something, I could see that fitting the game you are describing perfectly and if I was playing your game I wouldn't even see it out of place. Great Job, keep it up, and never loose that goofy and creative side of your composition cause thats what makes your music you!
Cool concept; I really enjoyed the soundtrack!
All four are really good dark ambient chiptune and I was very pleased about that.
Gave you an itch follow and also liked/reposted the playlist to my SC followers.
If you like the thing(s) on my page(s), consider doing the same.
Cheers!

Really creative and goofy OST, loved it!!
Quite a quirky idea but accompanied fittingly in a solid manner.
one of the most creative things i've heard in this jam so far. the abduction in the first track is genuinely a really funny idea. carrying that earnestly through the rest of the OST works really well for me. thanks for sharing!
The UFO abducting you in the first track is so goofy and I love it!
Escape feels tense and alien which is perfect for the vibes. The percussion coming in was super good too. I think though that it could have used another section with a more fleshed out melody as I imagine it is the main gameplay theme.
Like the wojack cover art, very cool lol. Nice submission! In terms of story, I like how it began where it started in terms of atmosphere and texture!
I think I got abducted towards the end of Sitting By the Docks! All the tracks were perfect for the story. Fun soundtrack :)
I really like how somber the vibes are with Sitting by the Docks. It's quiet and unassuming, with a really funny transition into the next song at the end (and I mean that in the best way possible).
The synthesized instruments in the second track work great for an alien spaceship type setting, though it still has a similar somber feeling to Sitting by the Docks with a pinch more dissonance. I think it helps the transition a bit more, though I think that lower pad might be playing just a little too low so that it sounds a bit growly. Moving the song up a few semitones or maybe playing the chords an octave higher might help a bit with that?
Escape!! Has a great melody, lots of tension and movement in the bassline that perfectly captures what it's going for.
Well That Sure Was Something caps it off nicely, returning to more familiar sounds. It's back to the more somber and wistful vibe, but the pad thing feels like a nice reference back to the alien ship. The melody and chord movements here felt just a bit chaotic, but the vibes were still there. Great submission overall! :D
Really wistful first track, I can picture myself blissfully unaware, contemplating life and the stars, being highly abductable.
Welcome to Prison feels appropriately oppressive. Gives me some Earthbound vibes of things being, off.
Ooooh Escape!! is very aliens. I do not wanna get caught. Really like the resuse of the motif from the opener.
That sure was something has a delightful finality to it. And with that adorable gremlin of an alien from the cover art, I feel like I'm ready for another night of being abducted by aliens!
The atmosphere in these is really immersive, i don't think a soundtrack has ever had me hooked this fast before. All 5s from me.
