I thought the fish would run out after I caught every fish. Nope, they spawn again. Love the gameplay.

I like this game. You can frantically go for the treasure at the bottom, or you can chill at your own pace while enjoying the colorful music and art. Great game! Kudos!

Your game is super chill! The gameplay loop works really well, and the music and art are totally on point. Awesome job!

Super chill game. The art and music are sooo good. The game design of how if you want a particular fish, you’re trying to avoid the others like a bullet hell is great. Overall, it was really fun and engaging! Nice work!

Love the art and music, it really reminds me of an arcade game you could find in stardew valley! I just wish there was more to do

Really cute and relaxing little game! The art and palette are very soothing. At first I thought that I would need a source of tension to motivate me, but the more I peeked under the water, the more I was self motivated to try to catch something that looked interesting below. So great job on the progression!

First off, incredible pixel art and lovely colour palette. Really adds to the relaxed mood of the game.

I wasn't sold on the concept of having to catch the same fish twice, but it grew on me as I played and the crux of the mechanic became more clear. Though I think there's some tedium that adds a bit of annoyance to the experience. Specifically, when you snag a fish, you have to manually reel it back in really slowly; this especially tedious if you're hunting real deep for swordfish and the like. Having some kind of quick reel (since there's no mistakes that can be made or skills that have to be exerted) could solve that.

Also, the UI tells you the name of the last fish you caught, but it feels like it would be more useful to show an image so I can pick the right one. Most are pretty obvious (e.g. the swordfish and crab), but e.g. I at one point forgot which of the two little fish I'd caught, damsel or butterfly. Having a picture there would have helped.

Anyway, great game!

I definitely can see the tedium. Given more time, we would have programmed a forced and fast reel-in, or perhaps had fishes struggle coming back up (and re-balance with a faster hook overall). More play testing probably needed for either design direction here.

Definitely agree on the UI as well, ideally we would have liked to have both the fish name and a picture of it (so you can see what it's called once it's caught as a reward as well).

Thanks for playing and the good feedback!

Lovely art style ! I love a good fish !

Awesome game! Art is awesome and cool take on the limitation. The only thing I could think of to add would be fish that react to your hook. Maybe some run away and some are attracted to it. Would maybe need more sideways movement to account for this. Great Job!

This game has great art and music, but  the reeling speed is super slow making catching a small fish when you're deep really frustrating. Also I feel like the limitation really takes away from the fun of finally catching a rare fish cause you've got to do it all over again to even get score. Overall i feel like with some small changes the game would be super fan and relaxing!

4x enjoyment here, hahaha dude i love this kind of game, no rushing and just plain taking your time to get the fish you want.

you could go crazy with this one, more Fish, deeper and more shenanigans the deeper you go with better fishing rod/gear.

in all I love your game man. good job!

What a cute and peaceful game! I enjoyed realizing that the line could go deeper and deeper, and there were stranger fish the farther I went.

If you continue developing it, I think a progression system would be really fun. E.g., if you get over 100 points, you unlock a new line that can go even deeper.

I really like the art and sound! Everything was so cute and charming. I had a lot of fun fishing up the little fishes, though it was pretty challenging dodging some of them the lower I fished! I finally got a swordfish at the end, but a boot drifted into my line on my way to get the second one haha. I wish there had been a way to release the fishes I didn't want, since it was so easy for random ones to swim into my line. While I was playing, I was thinking it could be fun if you were filling out an encyclopedia or something of the different fishes in the area while you fished.
