Living With DID & How It will Shape the Story Sticky

Hey everyone!

This time, we want to share something a little more personal, because it’s a big reason why Dillon’s story in Dragon’s End looks the way it does.

As you know, we live with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). For us, that means navigating life with different identities, each carrying their own memories, feelings, and ways of handling the world. Some days it feels like a team effort, and other days it feels like we're barely holding things together. It’s complicated, messy, and human.

That experience is woven directly into Dillon’s journey. In Level 1, he goes through a traumatic series of events that test not just his strength, but how his mental wellbeing is cared for along the way. Depending on what happens, Dillon’s path forward can look very different.

We won’t spoil the details, but I will say this: Dragon’s End isn’t just tracking numbers on a screen. How Dillon and the others' minds weather these moments determines who they become, how things continue, and how players experience this story.

For me, this isn’t just a mechanic... it’s personal. It’s a way of sharing what DID can feel like: the push and pull between resilience and fragility, between holding together and falling apart.

Thanks for being here as I share both the game and our journey along the way. Dillon’s story is inspired by our own experiences, and by the stories of many others with DID, and I can’t wait to see how you all guide him through it.
