How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
it's all about gambling, baby!

This reminds me a bit of Rampage on the GBA, very addicting! Theming is also very on point, a true gameboy like game.
I appreciate how heavily the game leans into the theme. The reroll button was useful at times but I wish there was more agency given to the player. The music and polish is great.
Interesting game - addicting actually! a nice take on the match-3/4 type. The audio is top notch and everything is well polished!
also, I couldn’t figure out what was “swap tape” as it never activated, was it for changing the music?
great work in any case!!
Awesome visuals, sound, and addicting gameplay--this one is a banger! Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Now that’s something completely different — Tetris reimagined. Awesome! From the art style to the animation to the sound, everything fits perfectly!
Omg the music is so good, totally vibing to it !
Really enjoying the whole vibe of the game, well executed, simple yet interesting, a solid game !
Congratulations !
Not really my type of game, but it's very well done! I love the palette, the music doesn't get old... It's great! :D
I can see how people who likes this type of game would see a lot of depth to it!
I hope this was fun for you as well! Thank you for making this game :))
Very nice! Simple concept executed well, and fits the theme. I guess the only think I can offer as an improvement is to let people use DOWN as a way to drop blocks? And maybe up to reroll?
A fantastic game with an excellent amount of polish. A simple but unique concept that's made even better with high quality graphics and sound. The clacks of the dice dropping, the subtle non-intrusive clicks when you cycle your dice, the flashing of dice before they disappear. It's all stupendous. I love games with a lot of polish, so I really appreciate this one.
And for something that seems so blatantly simple, there's a surprising amount of depth behind it. This feels like the kind of game where even the slightest tweak to the balance could shatter it.
The only issue I really ran into with this game was the controls. I consistently mixed up Z/X and would frequently reroll or drop when I meant to do the reverse. I'd really like if you could press down to drop the blocks. It seems natural to me, especially alongside the left/right buttons cycling your dice.
There's probably a lot that can be done with the basic premise of rolling and then cycling your blocks, it'd be cool to see a variety of modes be added in the future.
Great vibes from all aspects of the presentation and the idea definitely feels original. Well done.
I had trouble wrapping my head around some kind of strategy to try and "play better", which I personally value in games so that players can get a sense of accomplishment when they figure out how to be better at the thing. Each slot ends up being so randomly selected that it's hard to think of a way that players could take actions that better accommodate for things not landing the way they'd like.
Overall a great entry that gets right to the point and presents itself well.
Catchy tunes, and cool graphics! Could see this on a GB.
"I loved the soundtrack; it's really catchy! I also really enjoy the sound effects and the graphics. The game idea is fantastic and fits the theme 'Unlucky' perfectly. Great job!"
That was very fun! A fresh take on the adjacency matching game, with a cool re-rolling mechanic; like Puyo-Puyo with dice! The art is also quite striking, and the soundtrack is brimming with tension and excitement!
Some of the sound effects seem to stack on top of each other without any limits; I once recorded a volume peak of +1.5 dB.
I am about to get really nitpicky and opinionated. I hope I'm not coming across as negative; this is a really good entry!
It was quite difficult for me to distinguish the different values of dice. The pips being the same blue as the outline and background makes them hard to read, and the seven dice tends to blend in with the background tiles.
I realize that's an inherent problem with dice games; it's a problem I ran into developing my entry for GMTK 2022. In most matching games, there are different shapes and colors to signal matching values, but playing dice have a static aesthetic that's hard to work around. I'm going to try anyway.

Here's a mock-up I made. I limited myself to features I've seen on real dice, like an enlarged "one" pip, as well as "logo dice" used in d6 heavy tabletop games, which replace the six face with an emblem of some kind, since the six face is the most easy to blend with both four and five. I hope this is useful feedback.
All-in-all, this was fantastic! Great work!
Thank you very much for the thoughtful feedback! To address some of the stuff you brought up:
You're right, the sound mixing absolutely has issues.I wanna do a more careful pass on the whole setup in a post jam version.
About the visual feedback, I do agree that there's room for improving things. I think I erred on the side of graphical cohesion rather than contrast and readability. I found your dithering suggestion particularly interesting. My gut feeling would be that the effect would be too noisy, in special on an empty board, but it seems to look alright in your edit, so I will consider giving it a try.
Thanks again for taking the time to write this. Cheers!
Your concept is very nice. It still needs some adjustments but I love it.
