Game Description
Made to vent after I had a difficult workweek and saw the various frustrations my friends were experiencing. Wanted to try out the incremental game genre as well.

How does your game tie into the theme?
You play as a startup founder who wants to expand your company. I wanted to include some criticism of metrics for expansion as well as poke fun at the need for profit/power expansion that I wish didn't exist!

What a fun little game, I like it! They should throw pizza parties at my workplace, that would definitely help my morale as well 😄 Good work!

My wife and I were laughing out loud when we noticed the developer left because we forgot to throw a pizza party. It was one of the most relatable and fun games of the jam, thanks for making us laugh! The graphics and the idea are awesome!

Woah, I can relate to this nightmare a bit too much.  The colourful  leaves falling in the window add to the depressing mood. The Pizza Party adds to the insult.  Balancing is hard. I chuckled at the endings, but also raged. The sound design with the sighs is top.

Developer

Funny enough the sighs weren't intentional but rather just an artifact that was left in by greenindigoblue! haha. Thank you for playing :)

Crunch Simulator 2025

Love the theme and the little industry jokes of pizza parties and AI induced tech debt XD The art style is also fantastic!

Was stressful as all hell trying to balance everything out, so a 10/10 representation of real world dev crunching

Playing this made me feel so bad! Feels like a not-so-impossible future (it’s here already in some places). It was enjoyable to play, though. I liked the upgrades and what I could spend money on, and the soundscape was very nice (and stressful). Pizza party so solve morale = 100% accurate.

Good job!

nooo i'm sorry it made u feel bad (tho I guess that was the feeling I was trying to convey so in a way so mission accomplished?). N yah it definitely feels like an approaching future for me (my friend's job has enforced 100% AI adoption which is crazy to me!). Thank you for playing, hopefully the negativity did not linger!

Submitted(+1)

why would you do this to us?!!?? hahaha

pretty accurate job simulator you stressed the f**k out of me, if that was your intention, congrats! xD

but I tell you somethng, it was nice to be the one pushing the developers to the point of quitting, instead of being the developer who quits, so thanks about that! XD

gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you... but in all seriousness oh no! i'm sry about stress, quite honestly I did not think much about the player experience as was absorbed in just representing how I felt (stressed and ragey) in the day i had time to work on this :'D . It's funny cuz my first jam game also wasn't very considerate of the player experience (local multiplayer that needed controllers), so I'm definitely gonna make my mission for the next jam to make something fun n playable!

My favorite part is the corporate go to of a pizza party solving moral problems. Charming!

Award of Best Main menu in the jam xd, very relatable game

Developer

Feels like cheating using the turbo click button on my mouse but it's balanced in such a way that isn't the advantage it would normally be. Really enjoyed the experience. Played it through a few times to see how many lines of code I could get. Tried a strategy where I dumped all my money into AI when I felt like I was nearing an end. Sadly, that blocked my final result. It would be neat to see in a recap screen at the end. Regardless. Love the game. Great work.

Developer

omg i didn't know turbo click was a thing lol, i'm glad that my (lack of tbh) balancing thwarted that hack haha. And agree that that musta been not very satisfying to not see your final result,, I think a recap screen is a great idea, if I continue working on this will def implement one :) thanks for playing!

Cool concept and I like the CRT art style. I think you did a good job conveying the feeling you were going for with the dark, soulless environment. The clacky keyboards were satisfying as well.

It felt really difficult to make money, and the mechanics were also very punishing. I lost a lot before I realized that morale is impacted by the task queue size. Even with good morale, I still never managed to make enough money to hire a 5th employee.

I think with a few early balance changes and some additional upgrades this could be really fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I agree that it's pretty punishing/slow if trying to hire more than 4 employees... tbh i ran out of time after focusing on the AI upgrade path and terrible morale path as possible endings so tried to de-incentivize hiring more employees so that the unfinished parts wouldn't be discovered haha. Thanks for the feedback! Definitely agree that balance changes and additional upgrades (like maybe hiring a manger to automate some of the task assignment?) would make this more fun n engaging~

Nice little parable about the use of AI. I tried going 'legit' and it would have been nice to have some other ending or story along those lines, but I had fun all the same.

Developer

Glad you had fun and props to u for trying to go 'legit'! I truly did not think anyone would have the patience for even entertaining it lol. If I continue working on this will definitely implement other endings/story to drive things forward!

Cool idea for theme approach!

My all employees quit but i got trendy AI startup :D

As a person who works everyday in software industry i feel game personally, that moment when i go so much AI generated code so couldn't even see what is happening. Really well presented what is happening in the industry and how investors do not understand tech debt :D

Great job and congratulations on your submission!

Developer

Thanks so much! I'm glad that you could relate! Investor pressure and software industry happenings have me wanting to punch a wall smtimes so its nice to vocalize and relate to other people~ Congrats on the trendy AI startup xD

Pretty cool idea! I like the way you visualized the technical debt ending. I do kind of miss an overall goal... I did just fine having 4 programmers, giving them tasks and throwing a pizza party every now and then... is this real life?

Developer

lol I ran out of time before implementing an actual goal or some sort of non-losing state. Rationalized it by telling myself that the never ending tasks and lack of motivation is just realistic so your comment helped affirm that haha. But prob still wanna implement an actual goal if I continue working on this since it's not a very fun game as is. Thanks for playing!

I love that the game is related to coding. and the aesthetics really fit the boring office vibe.
