Great concept! I like your core mechanic, it's simple and fun!

I appreciate you did you godot as character to have smaller scope of work (art), cool idea!

To improve I would add possibility to buy some more time to build your walls, sometimes I got felling to have to little time to put anything on the map

Good job and congratulations on your submission!

Thank you, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Using the Godot icon was indeed to reduce the amount of art work, since I don’t have any skills in creating my own art. But I’ll try to learn.  I’m thinking about getting into vector art because I really like the clean style, even though I know nothing about that field yet.

As for improvements, I’ve already made some changes to the game that I’ll release once the rating period is over. I added some animations and feedback with the timers and coins, and your idea about being able to buy extra time is really good I’ll implement that too.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Congratulations on submitting your first game! I really liked the juiciness of the game--all the different sound effects and visual effects made the game really fun to play.

Thank you for the nice words. Glad you had fun

It was really challenging for me! I lost almost all of them in the first two waves and ended up defending my last one with all the barriers I had. Fun to play—nice job!

Really good proposition for a first game jam, congrats and welcome !

If I may, it could be bette to have dedicated time to bought items and timer could be more visuals (sfx or countdown in middle screen) during barrier placement.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback.

The sound effects during barrier placement completely slipped my mind, I totally forgot to add them.

I might make an update to put the countdown in the middle of the screen while it’s running and add some effects to it.

I’m really happy with all the positive comments and feedback, thank you very much!

Hey this was fun to play... I kept thinking I would quit and try some other games, but then I just kept playing. Well done!

Developer

Thank you. I know it's hard but i thought that's gonna make it more challenging and fun to play, glad that you liked it

I had fun with this one! I was originally confused how to play, but went back and read the itch page and saw the controls. Really nice work on your first entry! I never ended up using the additional health or barrier buttons. The defaults seemed to work fine. Excited to see what you come up with next! The comment of Godot will cost money if the logo dies was humorous :)

I’m really glad you enjoyed it, and I appreciate your feedback. Thanks a lot. I added the barriers and health because I made the last wave a bit tough, so I didn’t expect anyone to beat it with just 10 barriers.

Didn't feel like your first game at all. very well polished and entertaining game play loop.

Developer

I followed tutorials and made games, but this is my first one that I made on my own. Thanks for your feedback

many ways depends on what you want you can disable putting a wall if its extremely near the godot square for example

Developer

I made it deal damage when it falls down.

But I’m not sure if I can upload this update.

I don't know if it’s allowed or not.
