I got stuck for a moment in the journalism wall, the joke was pretty funny, the acapella sounds and the music where funny too, a fun game after all, cool game!
First of all +1 for for the self-made music and sounds, this kind of things always makes me smile.
On the gameplay side, the first big wall almost made me drop the game at first tbf but i refused to be called a video game journalist, so i got good.
It was really charming and funny, but I'm also very curios on how a polished version of the punch to climb idea would look like lol
lol, the punch movements were not even planned tbh, I was just messing around trying to make the combat feel more weighty by adding recoil when you hit an enemy, but then I said fuck it and enabled it on the walls as well
it’s funny how things develop in the heat of the moment XD
thanks for playing!
i liked the fights, there where nice. with own mechanics n stuff :)
Hmm, I am really not sure how should I rate the game on the audio scale, on one hand the self made sound effects are very creative and charming. On the other hand, listening them for a longer period of time ^^'...
Overall it was a fairly interesting game. The combat system is kinda cool, and I do enjoy the boss mechanics, even if I am suffering from serious skill issue. I however absolutely loved being crushed by manga - which then pushed me under the stage, and to my upmost pleasure I found out I can just walk all the way to the end of the game from out of bounds. And even the back ground music seemed to account for that
On a more serious note, it's an interesting game for sure, with a lot of charm. Even if at a certain point I started wondering if maybe too much charm ^^
lol, you’re not supposed to listen to them for long, trust me as I had to listen to it for 2 whole days while making the game, it was maddening XD
I chose to leave floating under the ground bug, I love the feeling when you find a bug that completely un-hinges and breaks a game, and I couldn’t bring myself to remove it, there is even a proper way to do it without glitching though walls, it’s a feature :P
thanks for playing my game!
Loved the selfmade audio & sfx, added a lot of charm.
the juice too. it feels very "gamejam-y", I recorded & played live- here's the vod of me playing & beating the game. Along with much more feedback than I can possibly fit in a quick comment.
hahahaha, thank you so much for playing my game! this is amazing XD
there is a couple of checkpoints, it’s just when you beat the game you reset, but you’re such a gamer you completed the game without needing them anyway
and the .rar was just a mistake when I was zipping up the files, didn’t notice until the submission time was over.
lots of useful feedback, thanks a lot, and thank you again for playing, watching it was very fun!
I found the tone of the game to be really funny, and the music both for the main menu and during gameplay had me smiling. I unfortunately am so comically bad that I was barely able to pass the wall of journalism, so beating Joey was way above my abilities , regardless I found it really enjoyable and would love to see more of it in the future.
I love the interactions and dialogue between the characters! The fight with Joey was super fun, and I loved his anime-inspired attacks.
I wanted to keep playing even after I reached the end.
Also you had a very creative interpretation of “music” and sound effects. :D
funny game, fell down during the first stage and got stuck. I like the idea of the overall gameplay
Passed the Wall of Journalism after several tries & experienced the best part of the gameplay (the combat). Preferably to add impact sprite/animation once the punch hit the ground to indicate the ground is punched
this feels like what game jams should be all about: wildest ideas put into a boiling pot and pouring it into a game!! i smiled throughout the whole experience. fighting Joey was my favorite part. oh and one more thing: ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!!!
Pretty fun game! the art was a bit jarring but the combat was fun!
