Great game with a cool art style! I especially enjoyed the sounds and visual effects. I don’t have much experience with this type of game, but the brief tutorial and card descriptions helped a lot. I also feel like I’d prefer to drag and drop cards without a confirmation (by just releasing the mouse button). I actually thought it was a bug at first.. Besides that, it’s a really engaging and interesting experience!
I really enjoyed this! I'm a fan of Inscyption and it brought me right back to there. At first it felt a liiiitttle too similar, but as it went on really felt like it distanced itself. Loved the art, and excellent job with the sound design too -- everything felt very neat. Can't wait to see what you do next!
Very polished game with nice style!
The only thing I can't seem to grasp is how attacking works, when I end my turn, I have some cards that do not attack. And on the first round, before the opponent can play, my first creature attacks which seems a bit unfair for him.
Except that really solid entry. Good job!
Thanks so much! The cards descriptions tell you if they attack the first turn they are played, ones with the speedy looking arrows like the zombunny or the poison frog can attack the first turn they are played, otherwise without that ability(and its matching symbol) it won't. if you don't mind me asking how I can make that more clear?
Ohhh ok thats why!
Maybe it just lacks a small tutorial on the mechanics but for a game jam it's ok !
Wowee, the polish on this one. It's short, but it's a full-on game, with its own style and gameplay loop and AI and everything. It's fun to play, and it's got nice music, art, and strategic depth. Really well done! (Don't act like plague rat isn't a god amongst men)
Thanks! ^_^ Plague Rat DEMANDS respect.
My favourite art and aesthetic of any game jam submitted, excellent work! Definitely warrants a full release
Thanks so much!! A full release is planned :D
Best game I've played so far! Really well done! It would be nice to be able to remove those pesky squirrels from my deck.
Thanks so much, and noted! Haha
Love the vibes and the art style! Gameplay is great and I love how it feels quick and snappy. Fun game, it took me 2 runs to beat. The only critique I could have is having *more* everything - cards, levels, enemies, etc. I think that's a good sign for a takeaway from a game jam game.
Wow yeah thanks that's a great thing to have and I'm so grateful!
Good but very short
Thank you! I am planning to release a full version in the future.
The visuals and overall art direction are outstanding. I'm a fan of Inscryption and enjoyed this playstyle. My only critique is that it would have been nice to undo setting down a card before ending your move. Nice job and looking forward to future updates!
Thank you and I look forward to making them! :D
Artistically fantastic, I can definitely see the Inscryption inspiration and overall charming.
Thanks! Yep haha
Really love the artstyle and the post processing effect, noticed you changed the name to feel more like a wizard name than just "Morgan" haha, great sounds and VFX upon killing creatures and taking damage
Plague Rat ftw!
Placing would be better if it was let go of mouse and let you undo if you made a mistake, having to move mouse away feels awkward and takes away from the impact feel of placing a card sadly

Keep it up, looking forward to updates :)
Thanks! So a less permanent but more impactful/ intentional and responsive card playing experience is better?
I think not being able to undo is a preference, and you'll get people liking and others disliking it, maybe have something like 1 undo a game, or even incentivize not using it somehow - maybe they get something a little extra if they don't use it, not something that would break the game though, I do think that making the placing smoother, via let go of mouse button is better overall though
Good art and ambience. I second that it's too easy for a strategy game... and the opponent seems to run out of cards, so at some point I face a empty field. I also wish there was a way to take back cards placed on your turn (undo?).
Thanks! Loud and clear, the full version will have difficulty scaling, placing cards will feel more immediate and less like you can't take it back.
This game really stuck with me. It feels to me nostalgic, like a good 16bit console game. I would really love to see it progress and if you need someone to playtest new cards or new content, hit me up!
I'll make a list of peeps who want to playtest the full version starting with you!
great presentation!
Thanks!
The vibe of this game is excellent. Even with this short experience, I feel pulled into this world. Great art and effects, and love the punny names!
This means a lot to me! Thank you :)
sooo well made. the art style is amazing. great job!
Much appreciated.🙏
Was fun to playtest this, Killer Whale still my favorite card :)
Thanks again :D
Hey Professor Monkee! I'm happy I got to playtest this early. Great job on the game!
Thanks! Your feedback really helped!
Original art style. I love card games, so it is in the top of my list for this JAM!
Wow thanks! :D
