The wasd movement wasn't working as stated, but I was okay with using arrow keys. I was worried something bad was going to happen, so I was constantly saving where I could. I played until the end of the demo, it was pretty funny how the monkeys were super meta about the game not being finished. Easiest battle of my life 😎
Good luck with your project!
Thank you so much for your reply! I really appreciate you taking time to play my game and give feedback. And it makes me happy that the Meta Monkey's were fun. I may just keep them that way in the full release. I will also add the WASD to the project cleanup. =]
It may take some time for me to get return the favor on the feedback, but my goal is to do so before I release the project. I hope I can get that to you while the feedback is still relevant. And, because you were the first to comment, you're also the first on my list!
Games like these ain't really my type, but it was pretty good. If you guys have a chance, could you rate my team's game please?
Nice demo. Interesting premise as well, nice to see another RPG maker entry. It fits the theme well, and I like your choice in music and assets (I'm very curious where you got the big dragons from.)
I found a few bugs (I'm pretty familiar with RPG Maker, so I went out of my way to try and break stuff).
Your dragons are not direction locked, so they change shape into some rad-looking demon when talking to them.
You can save anywhere you want, despite the game saying you can only save at the blue flames (this can easily break event sequencing).
It wasn't obvious that you could leave after picking your class. Not sure if you just didn't have time for a visual tell, or if it was a bugged event but I spent like 5 mins running around that zone before realizing I could interact with the stone AFTER talking to the class people, and something new happened. Though I'm sure this will change when you actually add in classes.
The old man asks you twice for fish. You can give him and his sister fish twice for some reason.
You can give the rich jerk fish even after you've run out of fish, and just give him endless fish from thin air, though it doesn't count for Anubis. So your pointers are correct, but you need a new event page to bar the player from being able to give the rich guy imaginary fish.
When grabbing the fish, if you grab all 4, the bin is correctly identified as empty. If you just grab 1, you can grab 1... forever. Endlessly. If you grab 3, then you can grab 1. If you grab 2, then you can grab 1 or 2 or 3 again. So there's a problem with your variable and/or switches here when it comes to grabbing 1 or 2 fish. It's not ticking the counter of fish left down the correct way. Not only does this allow you to cheese the fish puzzle, but you can ALSO wind up keeping excess fish in your person, which seems to insta gameover you with Anubis, even if you did the puzzle correctly.
And lastly, and least important, a few minor spelling errors here and there.
All in all, a solid experience, and I'm looking forward to the full release next year!
