Excellent sprite work for the character and the environment! I did lose a little interest when my power did not visually change after the 2nd and third death. Enemies might be a little difficult but very cozy ambiance, felt like SOTN

Nice Job! The concept is unique and the art is really good! My only complaint is that the block was the middle mouse button. It just felt really awkward, especially since  both the left and the right were to attack. Maybe you could switch one of the two out for blocking.

Neat game about one of my favorite meal ever: The Sandwich!

The battle mechanics were a bit confusing to me as I missed the tutorial text right in the beginning of the game. So I had to figure it out myself. BUT other than that a huge compliment to the team! The pixelart and music are very well done ♥

Thanks! It was just me and my partner so I'm glad you enjoyed our effort!

Really love the pixel art and the gameplay is fun and engaging, Can't go wrong with fantasy and a Glorious Sandwoch.

Awesome pixel art and i like the idea of the game, however there should be some sort of feedback every time you get stronger after dying, it felt like i wasnt getting any stronger sometimes, the combat was also a bit sluggish with enemies hitting multiple times in a row instead of only 1 hit, but overall i still thought it was quite fun, and again, the pixel art was really good, cant stress that enough.

For a solo dev this is quite good! The amount of content, the pixel art, the level seems to be generated procedurally as well? This is really impressive for a solo dev in just 4 days! However there are some things I would suggest for improvement: there's no type of indication of what kind of stats or how much stronger the player got. I feel like that's important to give an idea of progression for the player. Also, at the start the UI "Wins" and "Deaths" didn't seem like they were updating and were always at 0.
I really loved the pixel art and the levels but I think getting some pickups and/or chests scattered around the levels would fix the problem of certain rooms being just empty. I found myself running into empty rooms and deadends quite often.
The combat could also be improved, the enemies (especially the rats) seems to have an issue with collisions with the player where they hit multiple times in a row. That seemed really unfair to a point where rats would be more difficult than most other enemies.
However, as I mentioned, those critics are just nitpicks at this point, the game overall looks and feels really good! There's a ton of content and work done here for just 4 days! Awesome job you got here and congrats on the submission!

Developer

Thank you so much!! All of the critics you gave completely make sense, if I had more time I planned to add a more visual indication of getting stronger and id have added more maps , buffs, enemies, different music, but I technically only spent about 30 hours on everything since I was still working during the week, so I'm extremely happy that my tiny game was so impressive 🥰🥰

I played your game already, i have to say u have something quite pretty there, i really like the sprites you have done and the way you map is done, is like a maze, hope you improve more this project where i can play with more characters and with a combat more fluid. Nice work!

This is a great game! I like the art, animations, music, and gameplay! I also really like how every time you die, you get stronger. That really compelled me to keep playing. My one critique would be that the block  mechanic was a little tricky to use, and it seems really important in order to get a good run. Perhaps it could be something other than middle mouse button? I played on pc of course. But great job!

Really enjoyed the style! I thought the combat was very unforgiving, but it made victory all the sweeter. Great work!

This game made me hungry. lol. Overall great work! Its simple, to the point, and has fantastic art! Really incredible work! I got killed a lot by those evil guys with the swords. haha. I wish that right click was a shield or something instead, but overall great job!! It was fun, and reminded me so much of those classic arcade games I played as a kid! :)

Good sammich. Liked the game and the concept but found a flaw with the stairs. Since enemies can't drop down you can just force them up some stairs and stand under them. Then you can kill them without any way of taking damage. Other than that, good map, good art, liked the style and easy to understand the goal. Nice job!

Lovely style overall! I need my own glorious sandwich now
