A very fun clicker-style game.

Simple but addictive, the chain reactions become very satisfying! Good job! :)

My game is just a small game, would really appreciate it if you gave it a go and share some feedback :)

Thanks!

Simple game, but very addictive :)

Thanks!

I liked your take on the theme with sacrificing team mates and having to plan your loadout

We played your game again, great that it is playable on mobile, got to rank 4, got supercritical, continued and got more than 127k score. Too bad its impossible to go much higher.

Developer

something to look forward to in the future; )

Really fun game!  Cleared it in 15 minutes and 53 seconds if I'm understanding it right.   I like the interpretation of the theme, it was pretty interesting and I'm guessing that it's probably one of the most unique takes in the jam.  Everything was simple and yet you created a very fun, satisfying game.  The sound effects, the screen shakes.  It felt really good whenever I got a good chain reaction going.  I honestly only knew what I was doing with a couple of the upgrades, eventually I was just randomly clicking on all of them with the assumption that they had to do something good.  Overall, very good game!

Developer(+1)

This guy gets it *thumbs up*

The best upgrades are the ones that make more neutrons appear on the board which increases the odds of collision which generates more neutrons etc.

Glad you enjoyed the game!

I'm so glad you wrote that tip about not clicking during chains.  Made the difference between me not having a great time to getting sucked in hard core and playing for 20 minutes straight haha.  Super satisfying and addicting.

Thanks!

maybe I'll add a 1 click puzzle mode to emphasis finding the chain reaction

Loved you game as well. Great artwork and creative gameplay

the game was really addicting and enjoyable the only area i felt you lost points on was in the theme category, IMO it didn't really fit theme too much. other then that really good game.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game!

For the theme I wanted to avoid the obvious choice and go for something different but hear me out. There's the "death" of the run where the reaction dies out and you have the "opportunity" to upgrade and try again. The atoms "die" when they get hit by a neutron but they get to further the chain reaction. Then there's the death of the save file when you reach the end with the opportunity to get a faster end time. Then there's the historical death of the scientists working on the demon core for the opportunity to advance nuclear physics. So while you aren't literally dying until you reach the end the theme is throughout the game.

I knew immediately this game was going to have me trapped for awhile and I was correct, nice submission!

Developer

Thanks, your game was pretty cool as well! always fascinated and creeped out by cordyceps fungus

Addicting incremental game, I like the part where the number gets really big. I wish you could prestige in order to get even more visual stimuli. 5/5

Developer

keep that dopamine flowing!

Submitted(+1)

I had a lot of fun. Wish you could prestige :)

Developer

def something to add in the future

Cool game. I spent way longer playing this than I probably should have. Fun hook.

The visuals could use a lot of work, though. It’s also not really related to the theme.

Don’t let that distract you from how you’ve created a fun addictive little game, though. This is good.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah I did not take the theme literally but there are parallels

Well you do need to start again after the reaction "dies" to buy upgrades and plot wise nuclear physics killed a lot of people but became a very useful opportunity to humanity post war in the form of medicine and energy and space exploration etc. Also the demon core experiments famously killed 2 scientists which is what this game is based on.

The best thing about game jams is that the theme is open to interpretation lol

I fear I'm absolutely terrible at this game, but it's also highly addicting in terms of gameplay. Another game jam entry that I want to re-visit

Developer(+1)

the first 2 minutes are pretty slow but it ramps up pretty quickly when you get a couple neutron life upgrades

Submitted(+1)

A very fun numbers go up experience, I like how it started to snowball more and more as you upgraded more and more. Great and creative idea!

Developer(+1)

just like a real fission reactor lol

Submitted(+1)

interesting concept! i love to see unique takes on incremental games. my brain struggled a bit to keep track of if i was going to end a round by time or shot count

Developer

maybe the ui needs to be more prominent or have the shot count follow the mouse

once a chain reaction starts going you don't really need to click any more

Submitted(+1)

Incredible how addicting and fun it is. Amazing, but could definitely use extra touches

Developer

maybe I'll do a post jam version
