I've played a number of games from this jam where you had to use your corpses to get through the world, but this is the first time that A. the corpses are used SPECIFICALLY to break fall damage, and B. I had to try and remember which way I went. This is a lot of fun! What a fresh take on the theme. Going to have to play this even more.

really cool mechanic, loved rolling around maybe a bi too much and kept falling XD

Submitted(+1)

the gameplay mechanic is just adorable, rolling and jumping simple but go a long way, also the coats for the long falls is a cute additive. nice music and sound effect :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)

Cute little game! Somehow the rolling character felt therapeutic, so this really felt like the opposite of those climbing rage games. While playing I felt like I wanted a check point of some kind (and thought the camp might have been ones), but I reached the end shortly after so I guess it all works out. Good job!

We all really enjoyed this one! It’s such a simple yet fun little game, the originality of the controls really stood out, and rolling down the hills was super satisfying, haha. We also loved the use of the coat and the signs that reveal bits of lore along the way!! Really sweet touch.

If we had one suggestion, it’d be to add a bit more gameplay variety? maybe some obstacles, slopes that change your speed, or interactable elements to spice things up. Still, as it is, this was a charming and creative little experience. Great work!

Very cool idea, I like that your coat couldnt always save you!  Made it more about finding the right path instead of just brute force dropping by memory.  Rarely have I seen a boulder adventurer.

These jumping game are not my cup of tea but i enjoyed the visuals and sound effects and greatly fits with the theme,

i enjoyed this!! it was tricky to navigate, but it was fun regardless!! i think a check point every now and then would be useful, but thats just me being bad at platform type games, lol!

Great game! The mechanic of using the corpses really turns this into a kind of memory training.
i did not see the rolling animation coming and laughed out loud from the start :D
Loved it, i'd love to see more of this one!
With some checkpoints in between (or not if you wanna go real ragegame mode) and some extra environmental mechanics like bouncies and slidies this could be amazing!

Developer

I appreciate the feedback! I had a list of environmental idea's near the end of the jam, chances are I'll update this one along the line

Loved the art style and music, and your sound design for the rolling/falling was good! It was a lot of fun to play and now I wanna go roll down the hills in the woods behind my house XD

Developer(+1)

Haha yes! Thats exactly what I strived to achieve! Thanks a lot for playing and the kind words!

Fun game! I reached the bottom, I thought the signs would help as checkpoints :-( still, fun game and it meets the theme of the jam, good job!

Loove the art style, I also love the jacket cushioning the fall XD very interesting take on the theme. Great job!

This is an interesting and fun game, I have never played something like this before haha :)

I liked the visuals, the transition from snow to grass was nice, the music never felt repetitive for me and the audio was nice, not loud or quiet, it was at a good spot

About the gameplay, I’m happy you put a way to look up what was below, this made the game fair and not just a blind jump fest which can be a common problem in platformers, so this was a great point. The jacket being a safe spot for falling is funny and good, I think it could be a little buggy at slopes but outside of that, it always worked and I like this because it reflects the theme of the jam. Also there is like a little bug that rarely happens at the start of each play, where after the 1st death, you are unable to move but once you jump you can control the character again, I don’t know how to replicate it…

In my 1st play I thought you could easily skip the signs but at the end I saw you could see how many there are which it’s a good point to make the game replayable, I played again and got all the signs. And rarely I jumped, I see there are areas where you can jump but I felt that if you fell down and repeated the path was easier or faster than jumping to explore

It was short but it was a fun experience, good game. :D

Wow thank you so much for your detailed experience and feedback! I loved reading through it. I’m super glad you enjoyed my design choices such as being able to look down, it’s so nice to hear that those small choices actually mattered to someone.

I thought it was really fun! The character is great, and it’s so funny watching them roll and fall — I really liked it!

Thanks for playing! I already rated your game, I just didn’t leave a comment haha! I liked it a lot! Very unique working with the characters and cool visuals.

Great idea, decent implementation, I thought the game would be longer, but perhaps the duration is perfectly chosen, the retro style is also made solidly 10\10. (rate our game please)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I always like getting some pointers! Maybe I’ll add some more distance to it later! I’ll make sure to check out your project too!
