I didn't have time to finish this game within the rating period, and that's such a shame, but mark my words I'm coming back to this one!! The sprite work looks really cool already
Hey, thank you so much for your kind words :D, I'll play yours too, I'm saving in my library to play later
Thoroughly enjoyed, although I am not skilled enough for this type of game. Love a good platformer!
Thank you so much :D, I'm glad you liked
Thank you so much :D, I'm glad you liked
Fun game!! I found the movement to be a little slow, but this was really great! Attacking enemies was fun, and the platforming was too after I got used to the controls! Great job!!
Thank you so much :D, I'm glad you liked, I'll try to check about the movement of the player
I figured out the tech was to just always perform down attacks so that I could dodge all the pumpkins' attacks - this feels unintentional. I got the hang of movement with down attack up force pretty quick but I can for sure see it being really challenging for others so it probably needs a little tweaking. I can see future (if you're going down that route) updates having more variations on map design / movement types - so far you've got chained down attacking jumps and dashing so maybe wall jumping or a scythe grappling hook could be cool!
But the sprites and animations are well made and you've got the start of something cool going!
Hey, thank you so much for your really cool review and detailed feedback, that's amazing since we're in a hurry in this final hour of the rating period, really appreciate you took the time to do a review to my game, I'm planning to work more in this game, and I totally agree with what you have said,I have to give a better reason to the player fight the pumpkins beside the enjoyment of a combat, the way it is right now, the player can just run across the pumpkins lol
Great concept for a game that could be much bigger in the future.
Thank you so much :D, I'm planning to work more in this game after the jam
I really thought I had already played this one, glad I double checked!
I love the sprites/art! With some polish on the controls and some more time on the visuals over all this could really be something special! Would be interested to see what else you do with this, as this genre can have some spectacular results
GG
Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback :D, I'm planning to work more in this game after the jam, thanks for the encouragement
This was really cute! Well done on making this from scratch -- and the jumping on the eyeballs feels very satisfying, I can really see the inspiration from Hollow Knight! :D
Note: I think the enemies or fight animation need a little bit of work, it's really hard to attack + dodge their attacks! So I got stuck when there were 3 pumpkins.
All in all, a really nice metroidvania!
Hey, thank you so much for playing and reviewing my game! Yeah I made the pumpkins too fast, I'm working on an update to after the jam, I'm glad you liked my game :D
i liked this! a bit tricky, but it was fun. i love the design on everything!
if you haven't checked out our little corner of the internet yet, come say hi!

Thank you so much :D, I'm glad you liked! I'll play yours too :D
Interesting little game! The controls were a bit tricky — I got a bit tangled a few times haha. Maybe if the attack area were a bit larger it would feel smoother, but still, a really interesting game. Congrats on the project!
If you have a moment, I’d love if you could check out mine too! Play it here: https://kaijota.itch.io/graverun

Hey, thank you so much for playing and for your feedback, I'll try to check that. And I'll check your game too :D
🙌
Solid submission. Really cool game and level design.
I think the player controller needs some adjustments, the movement speed was a little bit slow and took a long time to accelerate. And I also think the pogo jump needs more range and height.
But aside from that it was one of the best platformers of the jam so far, good job.
Please rate our game if possible <3
Thank you so much for your useful review, I'll work in these things :D And tomorrow I'm playing your game too
Really cool implementation. I struggled as I’m not that good at platformers to begin with, but I tried to be brave! It took me a little bit to understand the attacking downward while jumping as a navigation mechanic, but once I did, it worked smoothly.
Thank You so much for playing and for your Review :D. Yeah I think Hollow Knight players Will play more easily, but If You don't have experience with It, It would be more difficult, I'm Glad You gave a chance to my game learning that, thank You so much for that
The game was great but there's a bug were the audio would cut out if I repeatedly used the pogo attack on the eyes
Hey, thanks for playing and for let me know, I'll check that
Seen your sketch of the cover image, it turned out great!
Finally a hollow knight where my pogo jumping skills are enough. loved it!
Hey I'm glad you liked it! I love the pogo mechanic in Hollow Knight, so I decided to explore this mechanic a lot in my game. Thank you so much :D
The gameplay feels really good! I liked fighting the pumpkin guys it felt really fluid. Love the art too!
I'm Glad You liked , thank You so much for playing :D
The controls are really tight, I feel like that makes or breaks combat platformers, I've played a few in this jam and the movement is tutorial-tier on most of them. This is impressive for a single dev, you really notice the amount of polish this got. Kudos.
Thank you so much! I'm trying to learn to improve this aspect in each new game I make, I'm glad you liked, thanks for your kind words :D
i saw your comment on my game, so obviously i came to check out your game, and boy was i pleasantly surprised ! i love the pixel art, and the movement - specifically the boost attack when you downattack an enemy or eye is great !
Ive rated and played many games so far, and yes, some have very cool art and assets, but i can tell this was made with love and dedication, and im all for it ! truly wishing you the best ! < 3
Wow, thank you so much for so kind words! This makes me really happy, I'm glad you liked my game :D
Nice game with interesting mechanic, though I can speed through the enemy if I don't want to risk dying to it. as I don't see any reason to kill them, so I can skip them. Would be nice to make the enemy restore your hp instead checkpoint as the death itself collect souls. Overall, the game have great vision just lack uniqueness. Good game!
Damn you said something that totally makes sense... That would fix 2 problems of the game at once. 1 - The player now would have a real reason to defeat the enemies. 2 - The game would fit better in the theme. Thank you so much for your feedback. About uniqueness, actually the name of the game refers to a core mechanic that I thought in the first day of the jam, but I unfortunately couldn't implement before the deadline, but I kept the name cause I'm planning to implement that in the future.
I loved this game, just spent one hour to beat it, i explored a lot
I'm glad you tried for this amount of time, that's amazing, thank you so much :D
Cool tiny game! few issues i had were the camera not following high enough (it does once you land but you cant see where you are supposed to land) a bit after you unlock dash, and the lack of different paths, besides those 2, good job!
Thank you so much for playing! Yeah I'm sorry for that part, I created that entire part of the dash in the 1 hour extra time we received lol, unfortunately I only realised you couldn't see the path above when I playtested after submit the game and the deadline is over. It's really annoying not see the path you are following, I'm sorry.
