Cute lil dude. The platforming feels tight.

but ... don't want to sound harsh...  here are some critiques for improvement:

I don't like that it keeps jumping if you hold the spacebar down also the music is a bit toneless I dunno, it doesn't feel right. The first upgrade should really be closer to the start to keep people interested. Having to use the mouse to restart was a bit of a flow breaker as well. Would have prefered a key press for quick restart.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the jumping, I went back and forth on it, if I got more feedback before the voting period I probably would have changed it. I also originally had the first upgrade right by the start, but you wouldn't be able to equip it until you got 20 points anyway.

As for the upgrade menu, Enter and Esc can be pressed to close menus. Also the start button on gamepad. The continue button exists as a way to close it if you make changes, otherwise you can press a key :) It's on the page in the controls table.

Cool game. good job

Developer

Thank you!

The game is very good, but the controls are very difficult to get used to.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try!

The general idea is very good, but the overall movement feels a bit awkward. It takes a long time to reach top speed, and the jump feels floaty.
Please check out our game.

Developer

Thanks! I understand what you mean about the jumping, it was hard to find a good balance for air control in such a short time. I appreciate the feedback!

This was a really tight platformer, not really the biggest fan of the dash, I guess with only WASD controls it can feel a bit clunky to manage, otherwise this was really cool and quite polished, great job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you! The dash was the last thing I added, and I couldn't polish it as much because it was messing with the character's deceleration. You could also use a gamepad if you have and feel like trying again :) The start button closes the upgrade window if you don't need to make changes.

I'm not finna lie this game is really fun!
That section with the small platforms before getting your first upgrade got me breathing heavy lol.
Really good job plus the game is super polished i like that.

Cute drawing! Thanks for the kind words! The way to the first upgrade is a little hard to aim at first but I had to make sure people discovered the upgrades :)

Wow the movement was really smooth and the "tomb of the mask"-esque visuals were super pleasing to look at. This was a really satisfying platformer!

Thank you for trying it out, glad you enjoyed it!

30 mins played, all the coins i could find, and three of the upgrades. But even watching your walkthrough, I am blown away at how you've mastered that diagonal jump-dash at 1:55! The wall-grip spike tower gave me huuuge Celeste vibes. Really fun tight platformer that I'm definitely gonna come back to to master!

Developer(+1)

Wow that is high praise, thank you! Celeste is a big inspiration to me for what makes a good platformer :)

I super enjoyed the difficulty of this game! The art, music, and sound mesh very well together. Good job!

Developer

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

Fun graphics but unfortunately found the controls a little difficult to use, very hard to time the jumps and would often end up jumping off the platforms immediately after landing. Great job though!

Developer

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback! You are right, there should probably be a slight delay if holding jump when landing. Happened to me a lot too while testing!

Pretty cool, I like the graphics! Fit the theme very well!

Thanks for giving it a go!
